Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 130: Voidfire Reckoning
’That’d be the last I can take before the efficiency of the blood reduces drastically.’
Consuming items to power up oneself multiple times in quick succession usually had the efficiency of the power-up decrease with every successive consumption. That also applied in this case with Jamie.
But like he stated earlier, some of that power would remain with him permanently. Combined with the small tiny orb of power he just gained; Transcendence was a go!
The gap between the Sovereign Realm and the Transcendent was as wide as the gap between a Sovereign and a Grandmaster. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
At Transcendence, one gained the power to sink a continent with their full-powered attacks. Depending on their stage, one could do the same to multiple.
It was why when Jamie and Miranda were speaking with Terrion about the location of the final battle, they had declared that continent to be a ’Sacrifice’.
After being the host for battles between multiple Transcendents, Eawin was going to be deleted from the surface of the planet.
Everything, down to the Tectonic plates carrying it was going to go.
◇ ◇ ◇
Miranda released her partial wolf transformation and returned to her normal state. The wolf ears and tail vanished and her hair’s length reduced, though it had been scattered a lot by all the moving around and now looked unkempt.
She pulled out a scrunchie and began packing the hair, trying out different styles while her mind wandered.
’I wasn’t sure of it before but now I am. Jamie knows how he can regain his power in a much, much faster way, but he’s just stalling.
Just what deal does he have with that witch that he’s letting her run fr-?’
Her thoughts were cut short when she noticed Jamie standing right behind her.
"Hmm? Jay, what are you doing?"
She turned her head slightly as she asked, but when her eyes caught sight of the fangs peeking out from within Jamie’s lips, she realised exactly what it was he intended to do.
Jamie’s arms snaked around her waist and pulled her close in the same instant he sunk his fangs into her neck.
"Ah~...!"
She involuntarily let out a moan before quickly moving her hands to her mouth to cover it, but when she heard Jamie’s light chuckle in her ears, her annoyance won over her embarrassment and she elbowed him in the stomach.
"Time, Place and Occasion!!"
The woman shouted those three words before breaking out of Jamie’s loose grip and flicking his forehead with enough force that it sent out a small shockwave.
Jamie held his forehead and winced lightly in pain while Miranda used a rag to dust off her clothes.
It was then, that a massive crack suddenly ran across the sky above them, with bright light spilling through the gaps.
The cracks spread out across the area, covering the ruined mansion in a dome-like format and stretching towards the ground.
Finally, the sky shattered like fragments of glass, revealing the True Night sky with dozens of Elves and dragons surrounding the mansion in the skies.
"Jay, I think you should have saved your Domain Declaration for this..."
"I really should have."
Jamie concurred with Miranda as he saw his barrier being shattered to pieces by the combined efforts of several Sovereign Realm dragons wielding Ruindeum weapons.
If he used his Domain Declaration here, then he could have just crushed them under a few Neutron Stars in the Domain but he didn’t have the energy left for that now.
"So, we’d deal with this the old-fashioned way."
"Old fashioned way indeed."
Jamie spread out his arms and quickly circulated his magic power through his energy circuits, gathering ambient law energies around him faster than moths to a flame.
The Elves and Dragons who were looking around the rubble for any signs of life quickly noticed this and their gazes all snapped in Jamie’s direction.
Upon seeing the man beside Miranda, as well as the lower half of the Elven Transcendent, Sanev, it didn’t take them long to figure out what had happened here.
Before they could take action, however, Jamie had already finished preparing his technique—the same one he had used in Clurg weeks ago.
"Luminous Void Annihilation."
*SNAP!
As he snapped his fingers, the ambient spatial law energy surged and wrapped around the bodies of all the Elves and dragons, suspending their physical forms in a fixed state and setting the stage for what came next.
The ones wielding Ruindeum weapons channelled the destructive energy in their armaments and used it to break free, while others drew upon their own law power in attempts to escape the range of the technique.
But space around them began compressing, creating intense gravitational pressure and preventing more than half of those who tried to break out from the initial spatial immobilization from succeeding.
As if that wasn’t enough, the law of light came into play, manifesting spheres of radiant light particles around each of the targets.
The spheres of concentrated light had so much law energy that even the Dragon Sovereigns who had broken out and wanted to help their companions reflexively backed away when the light spheres manifested.
All the entrapped elves and dragons—mostly those in the Legendary Realm and some weaker Inferior Sovereigns—had durabilities rapidly depleted, weakening their defensive prowess and leaving them vulnerable to what came next.
The spheres of light also absorbed the magic power residing in the bodies of the captured elves and dragons, siphoning it away and swirling it around the spheres to create a second layer of energy around them.
In their immobilized states and having their energy drained, these Level 700s could do nothing against the attack’s final stage.
The law of space’s power swirled, generating folds in space that exerted immense spatial pressure, constraining the already compressed space even more and reducing the available ’space’ for them to exist within.
Concurrently, the law of destruction’s energy was harnessed to shatter the bodies of the elves and dragons using the magic power that had been drained from them earlier.
The more magic power they had, the higher the concentration of destructive law energy that crushed them.
The weaker Epic levels who were not targeted and the stronger Sovereigns and Legendries who broke out of the initial spatial immobilization all charged at Jamie and launched attacks, but Miranda was not just going to sit back and watch Jamie get attacked.
Her eyes glowed as she waved her hand and summoned her purple-coloured flames.
Of the Six Hybrids, Miranda was dubbed as the ’Violet Inferno’ and there was a reason for that. Just as Jamie controlled space as easy as breathing, she did the same with her purple flames.
The ground fissured open and torrents of intense violent flames erupted from the ground, coalescing into a swirling vortex of searing fire. Like a raging inferno, the flames surged forth in cascading waves, arcing through the air with deadly precision.
Her purple flames descended upon the battlefield like a tempest, engulfing over a dozen elves in an instant. They were all swept up in the tumultuous blaze, their cries drowned out by the roar of the flames.
All the Epic Realms caught within range were burned to ashes instantly.
The legendries were sent hurtling backwards, their bodies engulfed in the violet fire as they crashed to the ground with bone-rattling force.
Meanwhile, in the skies above, the dragons roared in defiance as they released their breath attacks however, it was futile. Their breaths were overpowered easily and they were very quickly buffeted by the scorching flames, their wings singed as they struggled to maintain their flight.
Surprisingly, besides the Epics who were simply too weak to withstand the attack and were turned to ashes instantly, no other elf or dragon died.
Nevertheless, the ferocity of Miranda’s flames was enough to scatter them all and send them reeling into disarray.
The Lieutenant of Ikerth’s in her Superior Sovereign realm avatar watched all this with trembling arms. Her whole body shook the instant Miranda who stood amidst the smouldering aftermath turned to look at her.
However, she did not have the time to worry about Miranda as the screams of pain coming from the dragons and elves dying to Jamie’s Luminous Void Annihilation snapped her out of her daze.
