Chapter 228: Chapter 228: Is There Something Wrong with My Body?!

Next up.

After Aster Grant helped Cecilia gain control over the situation, he gracefully retreated.

However.

He didn’t choose to leave immediately.

After all, Scarlett had earlier told him that there was a way to mediate the conflict between Vera and Lazuli.

When there is a rift between Beastbonds, it’s best to resolve it as soon as possible.

Thus, Aster Grant decided to stay for another day.

Partly to give Scarlett some time, and partly because he needed a break from the constant tension of recent events.

Summoning Lazuli and Vera, Aster Grant issued an order:

"Today, you two will stay with Scarlett!"

Hearing this order, the previously at-odds Lazuli and Vera were momentarily taken aback.

Leaving the master?!

This was the first time Aster Grant had given such an order.

Almost simultaneously, both voiced their objections, their voices overlapping.

"No way!"

Before the words were fully out, they continued to glare at each other, invisible sparks seeming to fly in the air.

Seeing this, Aster Grant’s determination only grew stronger.

Resolving their conflict was now urgent.

But since he didn’t have a better solution, he could only rely on Scarlett.

"It’s decided then, we’re on Azurea, nothing dangerous here."

"Besides, with Lilith and Veridia with me, I can handle any unexpected situations."

He paused, his gaze passing over the two Beastbonds:

"You two will stay here today and follow Scarlett’s instructions."

After saying this, giving no room for the two Beastbonds to speak, Aster Grant turned and left.

Watching Aster Grant’s departing figure, the two instinctively wanted to follow.

But Scarlett blocked Lazuli and Vera’s path.

Scarlett swallowed nervously.

Faced with the two older sisters, whose strength far exceeded her own, her legs were trembling slightly.

But thinking of her older sister, she mustered the courage to speak:

"L-Lazuli sis, Vera sis, today...today you must listen to me!"

Her voice was as faint as a mosquito’s, tinged with a noticeable tremor.

Although she knew they wouldn’t really hurt her, if the two got angry, they could still give her a thrashing.

And at such close range, even if she wanted to use Void Power to escape, it would be entirely impossible.

Fortunately, regardless of the situation, Vera and Lazuli would obey Aster Grant’s orders.

Since their master asked them to stay and follow Scarlett’s directions, there must be a reason.

"Scarlett, what did the master instruct? Just tell us directly."

Lazuli glanced at the nervous Scarlett and spoke up.

And seeing the two so calm, Scarlett let out a sigh of relief.

But soon, her anxiety returned.

Though she knew the trigger for their conflict very well, solving such a conflict...

She didn’t have any particularly good solutions either!

And her confident demeanor in front of Aster Grant, was mostly just an act.

"Scarlett, is this mission very difficult? Why aren’t you speaking?"

Vera asked, seeing Scarlett remain silent.

Despite her conflict with Lazuli, Aster Grant’s task was a top priority!

Scarlett looked from Lazuli to Vera, and then, a flash of inspiration struck:

"Actually..."

"The master has been quite dissatisfied with your recent behavior, you’re always at each other’s throats. Although he didn’t say it explicitly, he’s worried..."

Stealing a glance at their reactions, she continued to fabricate:

"So he asked me to mediate, and my suggestion is... since the master isn’t here, why don’t you two just decide the winner?"

This half-true, half-false statement successfully convinced Lazuli and Vera.

Given Aster Grant’s personality, it was indeed possible for him to give such an order.

And lately, they both knew their actions had been excessive.

But neither was willing to give way, leading to the current situation.

Now that the master wasn’t around, perhaps...

Almost simultaneously, they released their aura.

A violent energy surged skyward.

Seeing this, Scarlett was petrified.

Though she suggested they determine a winner, she didn’t mean it this way.

If Lazuli and Vera fought now, this city might not survive.

"Stop, stop, stop! That’s not what I meant!"

Scarlett waved her hands frantically, "The master specifically instructed no fighting!"

Looking around in panic, she suddenly spotted an arcade nearby.

"Use that! Compete using that!"

Lazuli and Vera followed her gaze, their eyes lighting up with fighting spirit.

If they couldn’t fight physically, they’d settle it in other ways.

Exchanging a look of understanding, they retracted their auras and turned towards the arcade.

Seeing this, Scarlett finally relaxed, wiping the cold sweat from her forehead, and jogged to keep up.

...

On the other side, Aster Grant and Veridia walked side by side down the bustling street.

Aster Grant occasionally glanced back, a hint of worry between his brows.

Could Scarlett, with her unreliable demeanor, really mediate the conflict between Lazuli and Vera?

"Veridia, did Scarlett tell you her plan?" he asked nonchalantly.

"No, no she didn’t!"

Veridia’s voice was tinged with panic, almost trembling.

Aster Grant didn’t turn around and thus didn’t notice her odd behavior.

At this moment, Veridia’s cheeks had a faint blush, her eyes flickering, and she seemed a bit out of it.

This was her first time alone with Aster Grant.

Though she always told herself that just being by her master’s side was enough, deep down, she held a tiny hope.

Ever since leaving the Ghost Race, she had taken care of Scarlett as if she were her sister, and over time, she had grown accustomed to armoring herself with a cold exterior.

However, the longer she spent with Aster Grant, the more her façade faded, revealing her true, softer self.

The day Scarlett suggested she and Aster Grant spend time alone, though she refused verbally, she couldn’t help but anticipate it inside.

And now, she finally had the chance.

"Master..."

She mustered the courage to lightly tug on Aster Grant’s sleeve, "Shall we explore the place ahead?"

Aster Grant’s thoughts were still on Lazuli and Vera, and he nodded absentmindedly:

"Alright."

However, when he came back to his senses, he realized that the place Veridia had led him to wasn’t just another commercial street, but rather...

A special place for Beastbonds and their masters to foster intimacy.

For humanoid Beastbonds and their masters, it had a simpler name...

Date Venue!

Meanwhile, within the Beastbond Space.

Lilith, with her chin resting on her hand, observed the situation outside with great interest.

Beastbonds vying for affection?

Quite intriguing!

But such a foolish thing, she would never engage in it for her entire life.

However...

Before she finished her thought, her fingers unconsciously touched her chest, her brow furrowing slightly.

Strange...

Why was there a faint sense of discomfort in her heart?

She looked down at her palm, her brows furrowing deeper.

"Could it be something wrong with my body?"
