Betrayal by love-Chapter 10 - : Coffee Bar
Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Coffee Bar
They made their way to Aaron's car. Evangeline settled in, a fresh AC made her mind relax, she took out her phone from her bag and called her bodyguard. " Chris, you may return to the house. I'm with a friend and I will be home by 7," she added softly.
.
"Understood, Miss Evangeline," Chris responded from the other end of the phone.
Nate and Kim watched them intently from the shadows of a nearby building.
"Are you jealous, my boy?" Kim teased.
Nate's lips curved into a smile, but he didn't take his eyes off them. "Jealous? my ass. I'm just trying to figure out who he is."
Kim nodded, watching them leave. "Yeah, maybe"
Nate's smirk widened, a hint of something darker in his eyes. "We need to separate them. He's going to be a problem for our mission."
"How? he's her friend, " Kim asked with curiosity.
Nate leaned near to Kim's ears, his voice dropping to whisper "Don't tell anyone." Kim nodded, "That's a secret, I don't like spoilers" he replied with a wink.
Kim signed with disappointment, "Shit!!!! My fault, for trusting you. You did the same thing every time" Then both left the place and got near the car.

Aaron glanced at Evangeline in the mirror as he drove. "Eve, do you want to change your dress" he asked casually.
Evangeline leaned back in her seat, her voice filled with confidence. "Beauty doesn't need adornment."
Aaron laughed quietly, shaking his head and clearing his throat. "Yeah, yeah... keep telling yourself, "He teased, keep eyeing the road.
They finally arrived at the coffee shop, which appeared luxurious outside but was simple and elegant inside. Soft music played, and couples filled most tables. Evangeline and Aaron selected a VIP seat and watched a breathtaking window view.
As they settled in, they paused to take in the scenery. "This place is lovely. I love flowers," Evangeline remarked, closing her eyes to inhale the scent. "It feels like I'm in a garden," she added, smiling. "You have such great taste, Aaron," she said, clearly happy with his choice.
Aaron chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "I know how much you love flowers. I just wanted you to relax and be happy," he said, watching her face clearly and enjoying the moment.
Evangeline opened her eyes and smiled warmly. "You made my day. Honestly, you're like my little relief tablet for stress."
Aaron smiled elegantly, "I don't like compliments," he said dramatically.
Just then, the waiter interrupted. "Good evening, Sir, Madam, may I take your order? please."
Aaron turned to Evangeline. "What would you like to have, Eve?"
She paused, replied "Anything you choose. I like everything, so I don't mind."
Aaron laughed. "Alright, alright." He ordered two Kopi Luwak coffees.
A brief silence hung between them. After that, Evangeline spoke, her tone casual yet curious. "Aaron, you saw me with someone in the hall earlier, didn't you?"
The waiter interrupted," Sir here is your order," the waiter placed and said with a polite smile" Enjoy your Coffee"
"Smells good," she sipped her coffee, "Yeah... tastes good," she said.
Aaron nodded, and took a sip of his coffee, his eyes meeting hers. "Um, yeah. Who is he? I haven't seen him in your class before."
With a wide smile, Evangeline replied, "Oh, he's new. But that's not the issue." Her expression shifted, annoyance flashing across her face.
She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "He thinks he's God's gift to women." She sipped her coffee. "He's showing way too much attitude," she continued, her tone sharper. venting her annoyance about Nate.
Aaron listened, but the mention of Nate stirred a quiet frustration within him, and he squeezed his hand shut... He hid his frustration behind a polite smile, though the tightening grip on his coffee cup betrayed his emotions.
Aaron's gaze drifted to her lips, where a faint trace of coffee lingered. Before he could stop himself, he leaned forward, without thinking, leaned closer to her face, and gently lifted her chin upward with his hand. "You've got coffee here," he said softly, he murmured, his thumb brushing away the stain with a soft touch.
Evangeline froze, her breath caught in her throat as their eyes locked. The world seemed to blur around them, and soft music faded away, leaving only the intensity of their gaze.
Realizing the moment, Aaron quickly stepped back, smiling to ease the tension. "You always drink coffee like kiddo, but it's okay; it is also cute."
After hearing, cute Evangeline blinked, her cheeks warming and blushing. "Um, sorry," she muttered, unsure how to react.
Aaron chuckled softly and didn't show his true inner feelings. "It's okay. Carry on."
Silence remains, glancing at each other but no words come out, just enjoying the coffee.
After a brief silence, "We're already late," Evangeline said, glancing at the clock.
"Yeah, then we can leave now," Aaron replied, his voice calm.
She nodded without looking at him and watching her phone because she felt shy.
They left the coffee bar, and Aaron opened the car door for her. Evangeline slid into the passenger seat, and Aaron got in on the other side. A comfortable silence settled between them.
OMG, what a day, I got blushed by two men, this is insane Evangeline thought, exhaling a relieved breath as she leaned back in her seat.
No one spoke in the car, and Evangeline watched from outside, her mind racing with today's moments.
"We've arrived at your house; if there's any problem, call me, okay? Don't put anything on my mind," Aaron's voice broke the silence.
However, Evangeline remained submerged in her thoughts.
Aaron softly placed his hand on Eve's shoulder shaker her slowly and called her "Eve... Eve... Evangeline."
She blinked, snapping back into reality," um."
"Is everything okay?" he said, his voice filled with anxiety.
Evangeline nodded immediately, her mind still a little foggy. "Yeah... yeah... I am fine."
She unlocked the door and stepped outside, turning to give him a quick smile. "Goodbye, Aaron. Go safe."
Aaron watched her walk away, a grin on his lips. His eyes shone with something more, and his smile hinted at a deeper satisfaction he didn't need to express.
At nearly 9:00 p.m., with Thunder and lightning flashing and booming, and Rain lashing against the grimy glass of the phone booth, the street was silent.
Inside, a booth, a slight figure swallowed by a dark hoodie dialed with trembling fingers. Her nails were bitten raw, and a single drop traced a path through the raindrops clinging to the glass.
As the phone rang, the streetlamp cast harsh shadows across the face. "Papa," she whispered, her voice barely audible, "Finally they met each other, Now game going to be interesting and fun"
A brief silence followed at each end, the sound of rain the only thing audible. "Good job," a voice replied in the dark, and a dragon tattoo on his forearm was visible in the outside lamp. "Our lives became hell because of them. we don't have to target them; we target their happiness"
A girl nodded, gripping the phone tightly, "I know Papa, I am going to get Julie again. A Little gift for my friend," she said with venom in her eyes.
"Be careful, Zoey, I will be in 6 months." he said and added before cutting off the call, "Take care "
Zoey placed a phone and removed her hoodie "Game starts Now" she murmured, a smirking remained wasn't playful; it was predatory...
