Chapter 110: Chapter 110: The Person Who Stabbed Jasper Hawthorne Has Been Found

At this moment, at Serene Law Firm.

Rhys Lennox, such a revered figure, was brought back to Serene Law Firm by Stella Sterling.

Nowadays, Serene Law Firm is gradually getting on the right track, so they have expanded by hiring several professional lawyers.

When everyone saw Rhys Lennox staring at an audacious golden retriever, wearing ripped jeans, and casually sitting at the assistant’s desk outside Stella Sterling’s office, they all exchanged puzzled looks.

At this moment, Stella Sterling rubbed her temples helplessly, looking at the figure outside that seemed so out of place.

She picked up the internal phone, "Rhys Lennox, come in for a moment."

Rhys Lennox slowly put down his phone and sauntered in, leaning against her desk, "What’s up?"

Stella pointed to the stack of case files nearby, "Organize these files by chronological order and case type, and enter them into the electronic system. I want it done by the end of the day."

Rhys Lennox looked at the pile of documents stacked like a small mountain, his mouth twitching, "...Are you serious?"

Stella smiled slightly, "Did Shane not tell you? At Serene Law Firm, we don’t keep idle hands."

Rhys Lennox: "..."

He figured it out, this woman seemed cool and aloof, but she held grudges to the bone!

He gritted his teeth, picked up the stack of files, returned to his workstation, and pulled open the chair, almost knocking it over with his large movement.

All afternoon, the only sounds in the law firm were Rhys Lennox’s rapid keyboard clicks and the rustle of flipping files, occasionally mixed with a few muttered curses.

Stella focused on her tasks, occasionally glancing at Rhys’s side, noticing that although he looked disgruntled and moved clumsily, he was genuinely sorting through the files, and quite quickly at that.

Close to the end of the day, Rhys abruptly pushed the keyboard away, leaned back, and propped his long legs on the desk edge, "Done!"

The posture looked more like he had just won a fight than finished a task.

Stella walked over to inspect.

The categorization was clear, entries precise, and the electronic input was mostly accurate as well.

She raised an eyebrow in mild surprise.

"How about it, your young master I..." Rhys raised his chin in smug triumph.

"Here, the case type is wrong, it should be ’Contract Dispute,’ not ’Infringement Dispute.’" Stella pointed to a spot calmly, "Also, the electronic file numbering format is inconsistent, redo everything."

Rhys’s smug look froze instantly, "...Stella, you’re doing this on purpose, right?!"

Stella looked up at him, her eyes clear, "Assistant Lockwood, I’m a lawyer, we strive for precision. If you can’t do it, there’s the door, no see-off."

Rhys, vexed by her gaze, glared back fiercely, then stormed back to his chair, "Fine, I’ll redo it!"

At seven in the evening, Rhys finally tossed the amended results onto Stella’s desk.

Stella glanced at it, nodded, "It’s okay, you can leave now."

Rhys, exhausted, slumped in his chair, watching Stella pack up to leave, her profile softened under the light, her long lashes gently lowering, looking completely different from the cold-faced demoness she was during the day.

On a sudden whim, he said, "Hey, I’m starving, you owe me dinner."

Stella picked up her bag, giving him an unwarranted look, "Why do I owe you dinner?"

"Your young master here worked tirelessly for you all day, isn’t it worth at least one meal?" Rhys asserted boldly.

Stella, unwilling to argue, walked straight out.

Rhys grabbed his coat, catching up in a few strides, "Or I’ll call my big brother right now and tell him you’re mistreating me!"

Stella paused, taking a deep breath, reminding herself to stay calm.

"...There’s a noodle shop nearby."

"Deal!"

In the noodle shop, Rhys devoured two large bowls of beef noodles wolfishly, with no concern for decorum.

Stella sipped her soup slowly, watching him, "Are you really a double master in Finance and Medicine?"

She truly couldn’t link Rhys to those two impressive titles.

Rhys, mouth full of noodles, mumbled, "What, don’t I look like it?"

"Not really, no."

"Psh," Rhys swallowed the noodles and wiped his mouth, "Degrees are just something you can get easily, what’s so hard about it?"

Stella: "..."

This conversation was going nowhere.

After finishing the noodles, Rhys patted his stomach, and casually asked, "What’s up for tomorrow?"

"Meeting with clients, you’ll be tagging along to take notes."

"Oh." Rhys responded, saying nothing more.

The next day, Rhys surprisingly arrived at the law firm on time, though still sporting a mess of hair, at least he wasn’t late.

During the client meeting, he sat beside them, notebook in hand, unusually quiet.

But the client was somewhat difficult, repeatedly nitpicking on details, his tone growing increasingly aggressive.

Stella was patiently explaining when the client suddenly slammed the table in agitation, "You lawyers are all in cahoots to swindle money!"

Rhys immediately looked up, his gaze icy and fierce, slamming the pen on the table with a ’click,’ "Repeat what you just said?"

His tall figure, wild hair, and stern face exuded an aura of untouchability.

The client was intimidated, losing momentum instantly.

Stella placed a hand on Rhys’s arm, addressing the client with calmness, "Mr. Lawson, please mind your language. If you are dissatisfied with our services, you can terminate the contract anytime."

After finally sending the client off, Stella looked at Rhys, "In future interactions with clients, restrain your temper."

Rhys shrugged, "I couldn’t stand him."

"Even if you can’t stand him, stick to the protocol." Stella’s tone was stern, "We’re here to resolve issues, not create them."

Rhys snorted, not arguing, though it was clear the advice hadn’t sunk in.

As they continued their conversation, there was a knock on the office door, Stella instinctively glanced up, "Come in."

A tall, upright figure entered, and upon seeing who it was, Stella couldn’t help but smile, "What brings you here?"

"Just passing by, thought I’d check on you... guys."

Standing aside, Rhys heard the obviously added ’guys’, nearly rolling his eyes theatrically.

"You getting used to it?" Shane asked Rhys.

Rhys shrugged, "It’s alright."

Stella smiled, "He’s quite smart, picks things up quickly."

Shane was slightly surprised, glancing at Stella, then at Rhys, who was visibly surprised by the praise as well, Shane’s lips curling ever so slightly, "As long as he’s not causing trouble for you."

"Finished with work?" He moved to her desk, naturally settling on the edge, one leg slightly bent.

"Yes, just wrapped up." Stella looked up at him, noticing something off in his demeanor, "What’s wrong? Something up?"

Shane lowered his gaze, his fingertip tapping lightly on the smooth desk surface, "The family who stabbed Jasper has been located."

Upon hearing this, Stella immediately sat up straighter, her eyes brightening, "They’ve been caught?"

This issue had been a thorn in her side.

Jasper had taken a stab meant for her, sustaining significant injuries. Although his subsequent actions were troubling, his saving her life was a solid fact.

Capturing the true culprit could at least ease the guilt in her heart.

"Yes, they’ve been apprehended." Shane’s tone was flat, "My people will escort them here shortly, for you to handle."

Stella exhaled with relief, "That’s great! Finally, they’ve been caught..."

But she didn’t finish her sentence as Shane’s tone shifted, "However..."

His voice lowered, a subtle, almost imperceptible smile tugging his lips, "We extracted some... interesting information from the man responsible."
