Beginning with the Ubume Bird-Chapter 594 - 26 Racing Boats
In the stifling tunnel, a cool breeze swept through.
Wushan made his way out of the air raid shelter along the pebble path and was suddenly greeted with a steep cliff; the pebble path took a sharp turn downwards, and in the distance lay a cluster of black ruins.
Without another word, Wushan leaped off the cliff.

"Brother, where are you taking me?"
"That woman is long gone. Why don’t you just drop me and run for it? I promise she won’t trouble you."
Zheng Jinghong, blind to his surroundings, could only vaguely sense that he was being hastily moved.
He swallowed hard: "Can’t you just do me this favor? If I fail and lose the election at the Yan Zhao Club, it’ll be like trying to steal a chicken but ending up losing the rice instead."
Li Yan looked straight ahead as the scenery on both sides flew past: "You’re from the Six Ministries, a core member of the Yan Zhao Club. Would they really be willing to cast you out?"
"It used to be okay, but Zhu Jiuyin has always had a firm belief in results. Once he takes a seat at the Yan Zhao Club, he won’t let me back in."
"I can help you out and get you into the meeting first. But you have to agree to a condition."
"To help you get Mountain Spirit into the second seat?"
"Haha."
Li Yan laughed and didn’t deny it.
... Zheng Jinghong fell silent for a while: "I can agree but let me be frank, Mountain Spirit is bound not to make it into the second seat this time."
"We can only do our humanly best and leave the rest to fate," Li Yan said, shrugging his shoulders. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"Fine, as long as you can get me into the meeting, my vote will definitely go to Mountain Spirit."
"It’s a deal," Li Yan responded.
The Dodge Tomahawk roared explosively.
Dozens of Sudu birds took to the sky, exploring the trails of Yan Fu’s movement. Upon closer inspection, each Sudu bird had a black ring wrapped around its neck.
The Tactical Spider on Li Yan’s right arm timely protruded a pot-shaped satellite the size of a thumb. Nearly a hundred holographic screens with azure blue frames appeared in front of Li Yan, displaying the topography of the majority of the ruins. While it was taxing enough to discern the map, driving a high-speed motorcycle through the ruins was equally draining. But Li Yan did it with ease.
The modified Dodge Tomahawk was indeed equipped with mapping instruments, but without the satellite from the Black Star combat vehicles of Winter World, it was virtually scrap metal.
After the advancements in Magic Motion Technology, Li Yan had taken the time to buy the necessary equipment from a personal auction house and modified it into a circular transmitter. The advantage of this was that it allowed the Sudu birds to transmit images from a distance without the need to observe enemies up close, significantly reducing the risks of casualties in abnormal environments or when facing opponents with high sensory abilities.
It must be emphasized that the pebble path could only be seen through the vision of Earth Endurance, appearing right before Yan Fu’s own retinas.
In other words, the Sudu birds, or any more powerful reconnaissance methods, were incapable of capturing the existence of the pebble path. Given that Earth Endurance’s surveying vision was even inferior to that of ordinary human eyesight, most of the journey had to follow the pebble path closely in order to find the entrance to the meeting.
But Li Yan didn’t need to use the Sudu birds to look for the pebble path. He just needed to find areas where several of Yan Fu’s walkers were having conflicts.
For example...
Li Yan turned the car around, charging towards the black ruins.
Explosive sounds and whooshing noises came one after the other.
The cold gleams of blade edges collided with one another until two indistinct shadows tangled amongst the variously sized rubble. Finally, after a crisp metallic clink, one of the shadows fell to the ground, shattering into chunks of corpses wrapped in rotting bandages, and its black-handled Wakizashi broke in two.
The victorious shadow leaped violently into the air, brandishing two thick-backed, bluish short swords, and pursued the figure ahead—only to be engulfed by a blindingly bright blade light!
Left with no choice, the dual short swords wielder came to a halt.
In front of him stood two upright redwood coffins flung open; one was already empty. Only a swift blade light was seen slashing towards him.
Inside the other coffin stood a corpse, covered in yellow talisman paper and black bandages. In the blink of an eye, the corpse’s eyes shot open, tore the talisman paper off, stuffed it in its mouth, and incredibly drew a sharp Wakizashi over a meter long from within its mouth. Then, it leaped into the air, transforming into a blade-wielding zombie that joined the fray to besiege the dual short swords wielder.
In the midst of the intense battle, the swordsman found a brief respite, looked around, and suddenly shivered.
All around him, an overwhelming number of similar redwood coffins formed a honeycomb arrangement, with no fewer than a thousand in sight. It was as if he had entered a Corpse Forest Coffin Sea.
As for the figure he had been chasing, it had long since disappeared into the distance.
"..." The dual sword wielder’s face became grave. He crossed the short swords and drew them across his mouth, slicking the blades with the blood from the tip of his tongue. Suddenly, two straight copper-red sword beams, as wide as an arm and a hundred meters long, sprouted from the swords like unstoppable dragons, sweeping through thousands of corpses with ease!
Hopping along the cobblestone path ahead was an ordinary young girl with glasses and thick, twisty braids. Yet behind her rose towering sword beams, and the girl continued on without looking back, leaving behind a trail of red coffins and scattered white joss paper.
Gradually, she caught up with the person in front – an old man dressed in a tracksuit.
Without any hesitation, the girl threw a talisman paper at the old man, slicing down with a red glyph burning like a long comet—but the old man dodged with an agile roll.
As the girl moved to strike again, the old man turned his head, made a grasping motion with his right hand, and suddenly four black marks appeared on the girl’s throat. She clutched her neck in pain, her feet lifting off the ground against her will.
The old man flung his arm and tossed the girl into the rubble, then ran towards the entrance of the venue without delay.
At that moment, a subtle mist began to rise.
The old man ran fiercely like a tiger, leaping like an eagle. In no time, the venue’s entrance was in sight and his heart swelled with joy, but a sudden heavy pressure on his shoulder caused him to stumble.
On the old man’s shoulder, a speck of dust barely visible to the naked eye grew rapidly with the wind. At first, it was inconspicuous, but midway into the air, it clearly became a somersaulting, chubby child.
He looked to be around eight or nine, with a bright yellow duckbill cap on his head and a cartoon backpack on his back. His youthful face was the picture of calm.
As he was just a step away from the venue, a twisted force in the void compelled the old man to dodge aside and land steadily.
The old man and the child faced each other at the end of the cobblestone path, standing off against each other as the dense fog engulfed the entire ruin.
————————————————
Wielding blood-red twin swords amidst the dense fog, the young man struggled to combat the blade zombies. Suddenly, a dazzling golden light column erupted, piercing through the rolling mist.
The swordsman turned and, without a word, slashed towards the source of the golden light column.
Boom!
The sheer force dispersed the fog in all directions, and while the golden light column vanished, the swordsman knew he had struck nothing. The two hundred-meter-long red swords moved through the thick fog like a hurricane.
Suddenly, a girl with white feathers between her brows appeared in front of the swordsman. Before the young man with the twin swords could react, the Feather girl vanished, only to be replaced by a furious, tall and slender young man!
