Chapter 443: Arjuna Killing Golden Suns

Diana was tempted. She asked, "How long have you lived in this place?"

The others were shocked. From the aura coming from the place, it was likely ten thousand years at the very least. Could it be that this person really had eaten an immortal medicine to live for so long?

The voice fell silent for a while. After a long time passed, it said with a deep sigh, "It’s been too long. I kept track in the beginning, but over time, I actually forgot... I know what you all mean, and I don’t want to deceive you either. I didn’t eat any Goldenrain immortal fruit, so I can’t be considered alive right now either."

The others’ expressions changed. Alina couldn’t help but cry, "Are you... Are you a ghost?"

The voice chuckled and replied,"This girl is quite cute. Of course, I ’m not a ghost, but I’m not too far from one. I’m nothing more than an unresolved, ruined will that hasn’t faded away yet."

Sharky’s expression was strange. Looks like being pretty really is an advantage... Even this mysterious being is treating them so nicely.

"Ruined will?" Charlotte and Diana were both shocked. Just a ruined will had been able to survive for this long... Just how strong had his original body been?

"I wonder if your world still has the legend of the Samundra Manthan?" the voice asked just then.

"Samundra Manthan?" The three women shook their heads as they repeated that name. They had never heard of it before. When it saw their reactions, the voice sounded a bit disappointed.

Sharky thought of something, asking, "Are you saying that the Amrita, which was obtained by the churning of the ocean by Devas and Asuras?"

The three women looked at him in shock. Even people with as much experience as them had never heard of something like that. Just where had he learned that stuff from?

"Huh? You actually know about the Amrita, the Nectar of Immortality?" the voice asked, seeming a bit excited. It continued, "Still, the Goldenrain Fruit isn’t the Amrita."

Sharky said gloomily, "You aren’t even telling me anything, so how do I know if you’re lying to me or not?"

The voice paused for a moment, then said, "Since you spoke of the Amrita, you have heard about the legend of Kurukshetra."

"Yes, I heard about the legend of Kurukshetra. It was a battle between the Pandavas and Kauravas," Sharky said, he knew about this story of India. Afterall, it was the most popular story.

The three ladies all looked at Sharky, thinking, How could he know about that?

"So, you knew about the story of Draupadi?" The voice asked.

"The queen of Pandavas, yes I know about her story," Sharky agreed.

"So, did you know that once upon a time, Draupadi demanded for the Goldenrain Fruit from her husbands?" The voice asked again.

Hearing it Sharky was stunned, he knew everything about Draupadi from her birth to death. Like how instead of getting birthed from the womb, she gets birth from the fire.

She got married with five Pandavas brothers. And in the end she died near the Himalayas. But he has never heard of her demanding the Goldenrain Fruit.

"No, I have never heard of it," Sharky replied.

"Okay," The voice said. It continued, "After the battle of Kurukshetra. Ashwathama, the son of Drona, gives his promise to dying Duryodhana that he will kill his enemy." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"And at the same night he entered Pandavas camp, and by mistake he killed the Upapandavas thinking them as Pandavas."

"Finding that her sons had died, Draupadi demanded that Pandavas bring the Goldenrain Fruit, which can save and give new life to their sons."

"The four Pandavas, unable to bear the heat of Sun, denied it. But Arjuna agreed to it. He decided to first capture the Golden Crows, whoever appeared on the Earth. And through them, he wants to reach the Sun."

"Draupadi wants the Goldenrain Fruit to revive her sons, and Arjuna agrees to it..." Sharky muttered to himself. He hadn’t expected it to be that kind of story. It wasn’t quite the same as the one he remembered.

While Sharky was comparing things to his memories, the three women keenly sensed something else important. In their world, the Fiend Emperors had always been from the Golden Crow race, so they couldn’t help but pay more attention to that. They repeated, "Golden Crows?"

The voice didn’t explain the matter of the Golden Crows and instead continued to say to Sharky, "Yes, let me tell you then, what happened later."

Sharky fell silent for a moment before saying, "Tell me, then. Still, the reason why I’m willing to listen isn’t because of Goldenrain fruit. Rather, it’s because you clearly could have pretended to have eaten it to fool us, but you didn’t. That’s why I’m hoping you won’t attach too many schemes and expectations to what you have to say."

The voice laughed in annoyance and replied, "Are you the one who was affected by the Puppet Curse, or me? Why does it feel as if I’m the one asking you for help instead?"

Sharky said, "Since you sought me out, that means that you need me. Otherwise... You’ve been here all alone for who knows how long. If you could have entrusted this to someone else, you would have already done it a long time ago."

The voice was silent for a while. Then, it said, "You’re too intelligent. Those who are too smart are often disliked. Still, listen well to what I have to say."

Sharky agreed with him.

Fortunately, the voice seemed to have experienced its fair share of different situations and wasn’t too affected. It said, "Back then, when Arjuna using the Golden Crows reached near the Goldenrain Tree."

"The seven Golden Crows, as they promised to guard the Goldenrain Fruit. Ordered the other Golden Crows to kill the Arjuna."

"Arjuna, using his Gandiva Bow, nearly killed most of the Golden Crows. He killed so many Golden Crows, that their fallen bodies turned Suparnagiri Hill into Suparnagiri Mountain."

"Even till now, whenever the Golden Crows offspring pass the Suparnagiri Mountain, they will feel the fear of it."

"Seeing that result, the first Golden Crows also started attacking Arjuna. And Arjuna was not able to kill them, due to their immortality."

"In the end, he used his Pashupatastra arrow, and with this he nearly killed all of the Golden Crows, the arrow was even capable of killing the Immortal."

"Seeing that, Surya appeared there, before the last Golden Crow was killed. He prayed and Shiva appeared there. Shiva stopped the Pashupatastra."

"He also punished Arjuna by taking back the Pashupatastra. Since he used it on a weaker being than Pashupatastra itself. It was good that Arjuna was sent back, that fool didn’t know the fear of heaven."

The three women hadn’t expected the Golden Crows to have that kind of background. Sharky was shocked that Suparnagiri Mountain was created by the corpses of Golden Crows!

When he heard the resentment the voice carried toward Arjuna, Sharky couldn’t help but ask, "You aren’t related to the Golden Crow race or Surya, are you?"

"Golden Crows?" the voice repeated with a sneer. It didn’t answer, and instead continued, "They are also not good beings. The world was once a place with blissful weather for crops, but after the Golden Crows fell on the Suparnagiri Mountain, all sorts of disasters erupt at the same time..."

"Because Arjuna killed the Golden Crows. Through their fallen corpses, resentment appeared on the Earth. Following that, several demonic beasts like Vritra, Kaliya, Narkasura, Vala, Tadaka, and Tadakasura all appeared..." The voice seemed to be immersed in its memories, talking about the events of the past.

"And in them the four dangerous beasts were the Vritra, Kaliya, Narkasura and Vala," the voice continued.

Charlotte, Diana, and Alina instinctively looked at Sharky. They remembered that he had called the monster they encountered back on Suparnagiri Mountain a Vritra. Could that be the same thing?

"The Vritra you’re speaking of, does it look like a dragon with extremely long hair, the fangs of a wild boar, and a tail a dozen meters long..." Sharky gave a rough description of the monster.

"That’s right," the voice said with a sigh. "I sensed its aura not too long ago. It sounds as if you released it."

Sharky’s group was stunned, replying, "We didn’t do anything. It suddenly appeared."

"Did you encounter a giant stone that resembled a tortoise?" the voice asked.

"We did. There were many bones inside. They seemed to be the skeletal remains of some giant creature," Sharky said with a nod.

"Then it all makes sense. That was the seal used to suppress the Vritra. If you could destroy that seal, your cultivations are higher than I imagined," the voice said, sounding a bit surprised; it seemed to be reevaluating them.

Sharky had a strange expression as he replied, "We weren’t the ones who broke that seal. It was someone who entered with us." After some hesitation, he added, "That other person is a Golden Crow, but I don’t know if he has anything to do with the Golden Crows you mentioned before."

"The Puppet Curse on you came from him, right?" the voice said before continuing, "Then it must be. That’s a unique skill of the Golden Crow lineage. No one else can mimic it."

Sharky and the others exchanged a look. They hadn’t expected the Fiend Emperor’s history to actually be related to an Unknown Region. Why did all of this feel a bit unreal?

"By the way, would releasing the Vritra, one of the Four Disasters Of Creation, mean we’ve unleashed a disaster upon the world?" Sharky quickly asked. That was how movies often portrayed it.

"Just a single Vritra wouldn’t be that powerful," the voice said, sounding quite relaxed.

"Judging from what you just said, it sounds as if releasing more will cause problems, right?" Diana asked.

"That would indeed be troublesome," the voice said. It didn’t seem to want to go into detail. It changed the topic and asked, "Do you know why they’re called the Four Disasters of Creation?"
