Chapter 377: Beating Lucas

"That seems to be the Lion King’s legendary weapon, the Saber!" Alina exclaimed. Her expression was also a bit grave.

Cassandra said, "Young master, be careful. Lucas is wielding a weapon used by a certain generation’s Lion King. Back then, the forest was divided and in turmoil. When that Lion King united his races, untold numbers of other race experts died under this saber."

Sharky asked in surprise, "Is it a deity-grade divine weapon?" The Golden Crow Crown Prince’s Sun Slaying Bow had left him with some lingering fear.

Cassandra shook her head and said, "It used to be a deity-grade divine weapon, but it was rumored that back then, the Lion King killed an extremely powerful rhino fiend. That fiend used his own blood to curse the Saber, making its grade fall. Now, it is only an immortal-grade weapon."

Sharky sighed in relief. He said, "That’s good, then. Also, why are you calling me ’young master’? Do we need to be so unfamiliar with each other?"

If this really had been a deity-grade artifact, that really would be a bit troublesome. If it was only immortal-grade, it was still manageable.

Cassandra’s face flushed red. The two of them had exchanged the most intimate words the previous night. Calling him ’young master’ now really did make them seem a bit estranged. And yet, the two of them had clearly only met for the first time that night... They weren’t really close either.

Lucas was furious when he saw her bashful appearance. This guy dares to court a woman I’m fond of right in front of me?

"Even if it’s only an immortal-grade weapon, it’s more than enough to dominate you!" Lucas spat coldly. With a wave of his hand, a blue radiance swept toward Sharky.

No matter how tough Sharky’s body was, he wouldn’t be so stupid as to face it directly. He held Cassandra by the waist and evaded. The blue radiance passed through where they had just been standing, then crashed into one of the palaces behind them.

Boom!

The entire palace was cleaved in half, and came crashing down!

The onlookers’ eyes narrowed. Immortal-grade weapons were immortal-grade weapons after all; such power wasn’t something mere mortals could face.

Sharky pushed off gently, delivering Cassandra to Charlotte and the other women to prevent the battle from injuring her.

Cassandra smiled. She was about to use her normal ways to get closer to these women, and yet just as she was about to speak, three bursts of killing intent came from each of them! She was alarmed. Don’t tell me they found out what happened last night?

Lucas laughed arrogantly off in the distance. He said, "I’ll give you one last chance. If you kneel and knock your head against the ground, admitting your faults, as long as this prince’s mood is good, I might just let you go."

Sharky looked at Lucas as if he were mentally challenged. He shot back, "Are you an idiot? You’re still saying such useless rubbish in this kind of situation?"

Lucas’s smile froze on his face. He gritted his teeth and yelled, "This prince will dice your flesh into mincemeat!"

However, Sharky had already taken the initiative before Lucas even finished his sentence. With a flip of his hand, a several-dozen-meter long flame blade appeared. The heat made everyone nearby move out of the way, and a scorched smell even began to fill the palace, as if it were about to be lit aflame.

"Huh, the fire element?" Lucas remarked. After seeing how easily Sharky had dealt with his waterspouts, he had assumed his opponent was a water element cultivator.

However, the heat couldn’t injure him at all. With the Saber’s protection, the flames couldn’t even get closer than a few meters away from him.

Right at that moment, Sharky rapidly brandished the flame blade, bringing it down with mountainous might.

Lucas sneered. "Today, I’ll teach you about the power of an immortal-grade weapon!"

He raised the Saber and faced the attack. As he moved, the space around the Saber seemed to collapse on itself. Even light itself began to bend around it. The Saber formed a blue-green cone in front of him, mixed with a trace of fiendish blood-red that was suffused with bitter killing intent.

Boom!

The several-meter-long flame blade was crushed into pieces.

A sinister smile flashed across Lucas’s face. He began, "How can a weapon made from an element compare to an immortal-grade weapon..."

His smile suddenly froze on his face halfway through his sentence, because a large fist appeared before his eyes.

Bang!

The fist connected with his nose. Tears mixed with snot and blood flew in all directions.

Sharky had devised a plan the moment he saw the Saber. He had decided to use the Flame Blade as a feint to scatter the Saber’s protective killing intent. While it was scattered and the explosion blocked Lucas’s line of sight, he moved to close the distance.

Lucas screamed bitterly and quickly tried to widen the distance between the two of them, but why would Sharky ever give him that chance? He rode on top of the monster and rained down brutal punches.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Every single fist seemed to contain the power of a mountain. Even though Lucas was a master and had the toughness of the Lion race, he still couldn’t withstand this kind of beating.

At first, he continued to curse and threaten Sharky. However, the harder he cursed, the heavier those fists became. Eventually, he didn’t dare to do so anymore and instead began to beg for mercy.

After a while longer, he didn’t even have the strength to beg anymore. There were only groans left, as if he might just stop breathing at any time.

Looking at the scene from a distance, when she saw that Lucas’s face had already been beaten into an unrecognizable state, Cassandra’s mouth hung open. Lucas was the eighth son of the Lion King; if he died here, the powerful Lion King definitely wouldn’t leave the matter be. Bluefield Country might suffer a great disaster then. However, Sharky was only doing this to save them, so she couldn’t really protest.

Still, she stepped forward, her voice gentle yet firm. "Can you let him go?"

"Why?" Sharky asked, his eyes fixed on Cassandra, noticing her pleading tone.

"Because, Young Master! He is the Lion King’s most doted-on youngest son, and his identity is special! If you kill him, that might bring about a huge disaster! So, just let him go," she explained.

Hearing this, the others nodded in agreement.

Lucas, groaning and clutching his wounds, lifted his head weakly. "I... I promise... I will never come back here again. I won’t interfere... I swear," he said through gritted teeth, fear and pain in his eyes.

Sharky observed him for a long moment, then finally spoke. "I’m letting him go, but only because he promised not to return. If he comes back, I won’t be so lenient."

Cassandra’s expression softened. "It is all thanks to your mercy this time that you let him go. After all, Lucas is a son the Lion King dotes on. If something truly happened to him in Bluefield Country, it could have become a disaster. Letting him go is the right choice."

The other three women raised their eyebrows slightly. Cassandra’s understanding and tact were impressive; no wonder men admired her so much.

---

Cassandra said, "Everyone has helped Bluefield Country out a lot, so please stay for a few more days so we can properly repay our guests."

The women immediately became vigilant. They were about to refuse when Sharky replied first, "That’s fine too. I’ll have trouble with the country’s leader, then." He wanted to take the chance to see who this woman had been receiving instructions from.

The other three women didn’t know what he was thinking, however. They just assumed he thought Cassandra was pretty and that he was infatuated with the fox spirit. All of them became a bit unhappy. Moreover, they become already suspicious by his action, and Cassandra’s gesture.

Sharky felt a headache. I’m definitely only bringing a single woman with me when I go out next time.

---

Then, the Fox race’s people began to repair the destroyed palace. Cassandra had her clansmen prepare a banquet to thank Sharky’s party. Cassandra wanted to talk to Sharky several times, but each time, she could only withdraw guiltily when she saw Alina and the other two women’s looks.

Sharky wanted to find out what had been going on the previous night, so he used the excuse of relieving himself to leave the banquet. Somewhere in a remote garden, Cassandra seemed to have had the same idea, making her way around and rushing over.

Sharky looked at her pretty features that looked innocent, and yet carried a trace of loveliness. He cut right to the point, asking, "Did you approach me on orders from that Magnus?"

Cassandra was initially all smiles, but when she heard that, her little face immediately turned deathly white.

She was just about to reply when Sharky suddenly frowned, because he could sense that Alina and the other two women were walking over from different directions, seemingly looking for him.

He was really feeling shame, he thought if he already told them about her, then he didn’t need to fear them finding about.

But after denying it, he can’t able to face them.

Pah pah pah, I’m completely innocent; why would I need to be scared of being caught?

Even though he thought that, he knew being seen sneaking around with Cassandra secretly like this would definitely put him in a difficult position. As such, he quickly said, "Come to my room at night."

Afterward, he quickly disappeared into the darkness.

Cassandra’s face immediately turned red when she heard that. He’s calling me over to his room at night? Don’t tell me he wants to...

Alina quickly appeared in her line of sight. When she saw Cassandra, there was a hint of surprise in her expression as she asked, "Little sister Cassandra, have you seen Sharky at all?"

Charlotte and Diana also noticed the two of them. They both stopped in hidden places and didn’t show themselves.

Cassandra reacted quickly, answering, "I haven’t. Did young master Sharky go missing? Should I send some people to look for him?"

"There’s no need for that," Alina replied. She thought to herself, If everyone in the palace ends up looking for Sharky, wouldn’t that make me seem as if I’m making a big fuss over a minor issue? She noticed something and asked, "Hm? Little sister Cassandra, why is your face so red?"

"It might have been because I drank a bit too much, haha. I came out to get some fresh air," Cassandra replied. She was even starting to admire herself. I am a fox-spirit after all; I can lie in front of his real partner without batting an eyelid!

"Your Bluefield Country’s wine is indeed quite delicious," Alina replied. She chatted a bit more with Cassandra, but because she was more concerned with Sharky, she soon turned around and left.

On the other hand, when the two other women saw that Sharky wasn’t there, they also quietly left.

Then, the ladies saw Sharky back in the main hall. He seemed to be in high spirits, drinking one glass after another. By the time the music finished and everyone left, he was already dead drunk.
