Beginning Of Multiverse Saga-Chapter 311: My Views Are My Views No One Can Change That
Luke Vale was stunned when he heard that. He thought, No wonder the clan lord views him favorably. This man really is different.
But he still coughed and said, "Do you know that what you have said today would be absolutely disgraceful if it reached outside ears? The slightest mistake, and you might not have any place left in human society."
Sharky didn’t care about it. "I don’t care about human society, my views are my own views, no one can change that."
Alina nodded with him, still she explained to him, "Although, you are right, but the human race and the fiend races have fought for so many years. The grudge they have established has been deeply entrenched within them by a sea of blood and bitterness. It is already too hard to say who is right and who is wrong. If you spoke these words publicly, not only would the court attack you as a political opponent, the people themselves would reject you. Saying good things about the humans to the fiend races would have similar results."
Sharky momentarily fell silent, but he still said, "I’m not so arrogant as to vainly try to dissolve the hatred; all I seek is merely a clear conscience. Those who see me as a friend, I’ll greet with good health. Those who see me as an enemy, I’ll see them off with violence. Like hell I care if they’re humans or fiends."
Luke Vale nodded inwardly when he heard that. According to Sharky’s words, he could tell that Sharky’s definition of ’friend’ didn’t discriminate. As long as someone from the fiend races could get along with him, they could become his friend as well. No wonder the clan lord favors this man; he isn’t as stubborn or narrow-minded as most humans.
Alina gave Sharky a few looks, as if she were getting to know him for the first time again. There was a hint of happiness in her eyes, but it was accompanied by worry. Such a nature was too easy for those with bad ulterior motives to exploit! Should the worst happen, he’d have no place left to stay among either the humans or the fiend races.
Luke Vale asked, "Then what is the issue here? Madam Alina has done business with the fiend races in the past, while this Brother Cedric has no prejudice toward the fiend races, unlike most humans. There is no conflict between us at all. We should not be enemies and should instead cooperate as friends."
Sharky chuckled and replied, "Although, I didn’t have prejudice with fiend species. It doesn’t mean that I can easily agree with you. It all depends on my mood. If my mood says, I will trade with you guys, if not, no one can force me."
Alina also said, "Those who walk different paths cannot make plans together. I will never work with you."
Luke Vale’s face darkened and he remarked, "That makes things a lot harder."
"I don’t care about it, now, tell me about the compensation of your attack."
Luke Vale knew he wouldn’t be able to win against Sharky. As such, he suggested, "Brother Cedric, how about we make an agreement? I will give you some precious materials, and you will forget about the previous prejudice. What do you say?"
He continued persuading him, "Brother Cedric, you are a good friend of our clan lord, and I do not want to ruin our relationship over something like this. I will immediately give you many precious things, like Jade Milk."
"Jade Milk," Hearing it, Alina gasped, because this was the medicine she requires for her illness.
Seeing Alina look, and knowing about her illness. Sharky thought for a few seconds, then nodded.
"Okay, if you give me the compensation, I will forgive you for your previous mistake."
"I know, you will agree with my request. The clan lord has already told me. You are a good guy." Luke sighed with relief, after Sharky agreed with his demand.
Alina also gave Sharky a strange look. She muttered to herself, "Clan lord?" Never could she have imagined that this fellow would actually have something to do with the clan lord of a fiend race clan!
But ever since she had first met him, he’d always had all kinds of beautiful girls around him. Now, even a clan lord of the fiend races seemed to be close to him!
Was he born for courting girls?
Sharky was a bit confused, but he quickly realized that Luke Vale was talking about Christina Vale. Luke Vale had probably sensed the peacock feather he carried when they last met. No wonder he seems so different today.
Sharky gave a look at Alina, and said, "After the Jade Milk, I hope your performance will be good in bed."
Alina blushed a bit. No wonder this guy has such good luck with women. He really is good at teasing.
"You," She bit her lip, but due to the many people gathered here, she wasn’t able to argue with him.
"Hahaha!" Luke Vale laughed and said, "Madam Alina is a decisive woman after all. Since everything is agreed, I also hope you also think about cooperating with us in trading."
Even though the business in Cloudcenter Commandery would become a bit troublesome without Duke’s support, it wouldn’t be too hard. He just hopes, with Duke’s agreement, they all get massive profits.
"Okay, I will think about it," Sharky nodded.
After hearing this, and giving the compensation. The group left one after another. The previously lively frozen cave now seemed a bit cold and lonely.
---
"So, my love, are you ready for the treatment," Sharky asked looking at Alina.
"Here?" Alina asked in confusion, although she wants to get treated quickly, but this is not the good place.
She wanted to say more, but suddenly staggered and collapsed.
Fortunately, Sharky moved quickly, supporting her and preventing her perfect face from hitting the floor. He asked, "Alina, what’s wrong?"
Alina’s complexion was extremely pale, without a shred of color. But she didn’t respond no matter how Sharky hollered at her. Sensing how faint her ki was, Sharky jumped in fright. Why were her injuries so serious?
There was no time to return to Cloudcenter City. He took out some medicine and fed it to her. Then, he infused his ki into her to treat her injuries. Fortunately, although her injuries were serious, there was no danger to her life. It wasn’t anything close to a hopeless situation.
Sharky’s fourth layer of the Primordial Origin Sutra was perfect for treating injuries. He didn’t waste any time and sat down to open up Alina’s meridians, guiding the medicinal effects through them.
But it would be a problem to keep her seated in the cave. He knew that her body naturally rejected the cold.
If she were to sit on the ground, the cold would invade her wounded body very quickly. It might even leave behind some irreparable conditions.
It had been a similar situation when Isabelle was suffering from her own cold condition. If it weren’t because of his diligence day after day, she might have long since perished. He thought about the same method to use this, but the place is not good for that thing.
But for some reason, the cave was incredibly cold. He couldn’t even find a single spot in it that was closer to a normal temperature.
Helpless to do anything else, Sharky could only sit down on the frozen surface and take her into his embrace, using his own legs to support her. One hand pressed against the center of her body, while the other pressed against her belly. He began to use the Primordial Origin Sutra, sending in an endless amount of ki to treat her.
---
Meanwhile, in the faraway Imperial Palace, inside the Imperial Study, the emperor opened his eyes. He looked toward the northwest and muttered, "It seems Cloudcenter’s situation is about to be settled."
He thought for a bit, then summoned Eunuch Wen and ordered, "Pass down my decree. Order Zen Commandery’s troops to immediately return to their station. They are not allowed to enter Cloudcenter Commandery."
"Furthermore, issue a secret decree reprimanding Thomas and saying that he is not to willfully transfer the troops of a king."
The emperor continued to issue several decrees. When Eunuch Wen left, a lesser eunuch came to report, "Your majesty, the crown princess seeks a meeting with you."
The emperor frowned. After all, he had always quite liked that ’daughter-in-law’ of his. She was pretty, and she had the demeanor of someone befitting her status. She was also the next empress candidate he had chosen for himself.
But ever since his split soul had perished in the dungeon, he felt a bit uneasy when he looked at her. He didn’t know whether he should continue to see her as his future wife, or if he should see her as his daughter-in-law.
"Your majesty, the crown princess seeks an audience with you." Seeing that the emperor was absentminded and hadn’t replied for a long time, the lesser eunuch thought the emperor hadn’t heard him, so he carefully repeated his report.
The emperor snapped out of his daze and waved his hand, indicating that he had heard what the eunuch said. He commanded, "Call her in."
Soon afterward, the splendidly-dressed Catherine walked in. She greeted him in a natural and proper manner.
The emperor nodded inwardly. The crown princess really did exude grace with every movement. There weren’t any problems that could be picked out of her behavior. His expression eased a bit as he thought that, and he asked, "Why has Catherine come here tonight?"
Bi Linglong said with a smile, "Replying to Father Emperor. I was thinking about returning home for a few days."
The emperor’s eyes narrowed. His expression became somewhat dangerous, and he asked coldly, "Did you not know that at the time, the Royal Palace was the safest place for you?"
"Is my father’s place not safer than the Royal Palace?" Instead of replying, Catherine questioned back.
Hearing it, the Emperor became silent for a few seconds, then he asked her again, "Did you really want to return to your home?"
"Yes, father Emperor," Catherine nodded without hesitation. She didn’t want to stay here for any moment.
It was because the truth she known in the dungeon.
She felt overwhelming nausea and disgust when she thought about how her father-in-law actually lusted after her.
No, it’s not lusting after me. With the emperor’s status, there’s no need for him to lust after me. He merely arranged for something that couldn’t be opposed.
But the more she thought that, the more disgust she felt, the more she wanted to escape from here.
She recalled how the emperor had possessed the crown prince, and even wanted to seize his own daughter-in-law forcefully afterward, she only found that nauseating.
The Emperor didn’t know that the gracefully smiling crown princess actually hated him that much. As he heard she wanted to go home. "Okay, I agree with your demand, you can return to your home."
Catherine was happy to hear that the Emperor agreed. "Thank you, Father Emperor," She subsequently left after expressing her gratitude.
