Becoming the Wasteland Overlord With My Harem System!-Chapter 263: Little Conference
Axel prepared a proper venue for them to speak, setting up tables and chairs around, along with sweets and drinks to boot. Of course, the purpose wasn’t for casual chat but rather, information gathering.
They were talking about Fafnir, the dragon that was sealed along with Nidavellir. The Dragon that even Bellachrona claims she would lose nine out of ten times against.
Of course, that’s just in case they fought on even terms.
But now that Axel’s group was with her, the equation was completely different. The variables had changed.
Nina took a sip as she summarized. "So, his abilities mostly are the aura that makes people greedy without noticing..."
"Possessing great strength incomparable to even yours," Eve chimed in, as if talking in turn.
"The ability to breathe poisonous gas," Beatrix continued. "That’s honestly hard to handle."
Then, Teruria tilted her head, saying the last point.
"And finally, near-invulnerability due to his tough scales, was it?"
Maria and Cherry were busying themselves with refilling the girls’ cups, listening quietly from the side. Arianne was the only one standing guard instead of joining in, sword in hand and surveying the surroundings at even intervals.
Bellachrona, who was "sleeping" for a long time, almost like a corpse, was busy stuffing her cheeks with the sweets, though.
For one, she literally hadn’t eaten for hundreds of years, but more than that, she simply couldn’t stop herself after finding how delicious the teacakes and cookies were! Fenrir, seeing this, also started eating with great gusto, almost as if competing with the lady dragon.
"Exactly," Bellachrona nodded, speaking with her mouth full. "Although I can stop time and land hits, I can’t break Fafnir’s defenses with my strength."
She was a dragon who governs time. Although her ability had great usability, she wasn’t really geared towards fighting. Thus, her attack and defense were both quite low.
She might be able to handle a few intruders, mortals, or a weak god or dragon. However, one on Fafnir’s level was out of her league.
"But that changed now, correct?" Axel smiled, resting his chin over his cupped hands.
Bellachrona swallowed what she was eating, not noticing the crumbs sticking to the corner of her lips, and nodded. "Exactly. With you and your women’s power, I’m sure we have a solid winning chance against that evil dragon. However..."
"Of course," Axel nodded, as if reading what she was about to say. "That’s only if we can weaken it with curses before the fight truly begins, correct?"
The lady dragon nodded, her expression serious.
"Honestly, the curse you cast on me was quite special. It somehow managed to slip past my curse resistance."
She whispered, staring at her hand, still trembling a little from the aftereffects of the curse.
"I’ve never seen or heard of such a level of curse before. Is it perhaps from a different dimension? The laws it was working on seemed to be completely different from what I know."
Axel smiled, nodding. He was surprised that Bellachrona managed to guess Nina and Ria’s origin so easily. However, now that they’d become allies to fight the evil dragon, it wasn’t something they should hide either.
"They are from Witcheria," Axel explained. "A frontline dimension fighting against the demon invasion."
"I see, so that’s why." She nodded, convinced. "A technique that contained decades, no, centuries of refinement to reach this level."
"Enough of that."
Fenrir then suddenly interrupted them, asking directly.
"We need the information from inside there. The kingdom’s structure, where the Hearthfire is, and the probable location of that bastard dragon. Without that, we can’t even begin planning our approach."
Until now, they had only been talking about Fafnir, his abilities, and how he is a threat.
But now that that’s over, it was time for them to truly begin planning their approach. Bellachrona understood this too, so she nodded firmly.
"First, you should be able to find Fafnir and the Hearthfire easily." She clarified. "Fafnir is the representation of greed. He wouldn’t leave his treasure and stayed close to it until he could integrate its powers with himself."
Axel raised a brow. "So, you’re saying Fafnir is beside the Hearthfire?"
"Yes," She responded.
"Then the plan of sneaking the Hearthfire alone out and resealing the dragon is impossible, huh..."
"If Master wants, we can split into two groups, one to distract Fafnir and one to take the Hearthfire out." Fenrir pointed out.
"But that means we’ll need to leave someone behind, sealed together with that dragon. So that’s a big no for me."
Axel didn’t want to reduce their strength for the upcoming "raid" by the debt collectors. Rather, he wanted to increase it. If they could pull Bellachrona into their camp, then this could be partially achieved... but losing someone in the process would be putting the cart before the horse.
"Then, we can only do it directly." Nina sighed. "I cast the curse on it, and you guys fight it directly. Simple."
"Yeah..."
It was a direct approach, without much planning or strategy. Of course, that meant it was risky too. However, given their circumstances and their goal, this was the best they could do...
"Unn... Husband, I have an idea, but..."
Only when Ria raised her hand did the atmosphere change.
"We have Bella, who can control time, and Fenrir, who can control Space, then, can’t we..."
As she explained her plan, everyone listening couldn’t help but open their eyes wide. After all, it was quite a far-fetched plan. if they fail, it’d definitely bite them in the ass later on. However, if it succeeded...
"To think Ria would be the one to notice this..."
"It should’ve been quite obvious... I guess we were focusing on different things, narrowing our vision."
"The plan is sound. We just need contingencies if things go south, and this can be executed as is!"
The girls smiled, nodding along. Though Nina did feel a little bitter having her little sister beat her to a solution that wasn’t really hard to think of.
Ria, hearing all the praise, scratched her head embarrassedly, her face covered with a slovenly smile. "E-Ehehe... I’m a genius, after all~!"
"Nah, no way."
"Wha—! You don’t need to refute it instantly, sister!"
As the two bickered, Axel’s gaze narrowed.
He wasn’t listening to their words anymore. Instead, he was already thinking of what they could do to strengthen their plans.
