Chapter 458: Chapter 458: Brother Recognizes at a Glance

Lin Yue turned around and showed a delighted smile to Ye Shao.

Ye Shao excitedly stepped forward and hugged him, exclaiming, "It’s really you, haha, you’ve grown so tall, even taller than me. You rascal, you’re finally back. I haven’t seen you in so many years, almost didn’t recognize you."

"But you still recognized me." Lin Yue said.

Ye Shao patted his back, "Of course, you were raised by me. No matter how grown-up you become or how you change, I will always recognize you."

"But sister didn’t recognize me, even after seeing my face, she couldn’t remember who I was." Lin Yue said sadly.

Ye Shao released him and patted his shoulder again, "You weren’t raised by her; she only took care of you for a short time. It’s normal not to recognize you. Plus, she’s busy and meets many people, hasn’t seen you in years. Actually, just by looking at your face, I might not recognize you either, but seeing your back reminded me. As a child, I often scrubbed your back when you stood with one shoulder slightly lowered, this habit hasn’t changed."

Lin Yue smiled awkwardly, "You really know me well."

"Miss Ye, the next scene is about to start, please go there!" The assistant ran over, reminding Ye Shao.

Ye Shao nodded, patted Lin Yue’s shoulder again, "If you’re free, wait for me a bit. Once I finish filming this scene, we can have a good chat."

"Okay, I’m free, I’ll wait for you." Lin Yue nodded.

Ye Shao hurried back, touched up his makeup, and continued filming the next scene.

This role was arranged by Wan Tianning in exchange for Ye Ningwan, to give Ye Shao a chance.

Ye Shao played the second male lead, although not the protagonist, the role was likable and suited Ye Shao’s image.

Wan Tianning thought Ye Shao, being a newcomer, wouldn’t be suitable for a lead role. Otherwise, it might stir up controversy and cause speculation.

Starting as the second male lead, he’s getting a foothold, familiarizing himself with the audience.

If his acting is good and the character is likable, nowadays the second male lead can become more popular than the first.

Ye Shao didn’t mind what role it was, even as the second male lead, he acted very seriously.

But because he was too serious and kept studying the role, even the director couldn’t help but praise his depth of acting and began to view him differently. This drew dissatisfaction from the first male lead.

The first male lead was Qin Mu, a young actor heavily promoted by another entertainment company. Though his acting was average, his looks were striking. It was said he was a new favorite of a certain big boss, hence continuously getting first male lead roles.

In his films, other male supporting actors weren’t allowed to have too outstanding a look.

His acting relied solely on his looks. Others knew this; he knew it well too.

If other male supporting actors acted well and looked decent, wouldn’t they overshadow him?

This was absolutely intolerable.

But Ye Shao’s arrival broke his rule.

Ye Shao happened to be parachuted in, and even the director couldn’t do anything.

He had already signed a contract; breaching it meant paying compensation.

Compensation was minor, but the promotion outside stated he was playing the lead role in this film, and quitting now might severely damage his career.

"Qin, don’t worry. They say he’s a newcomer, and quite old, hasn’t trained even two months. Surely his acting can’t compete with yours." The agent comforted him then.

He too thought Ye Shao relied on a big boss, just like him, with only a pretty face.

Who would’ve thought this rookie, never acted before, would completely overshadow him?

"His acting is rubbish; the role itself is charming. You want him to stomp me down mercilessly?" Qin Mu raged.

The agent carefully attended to his anger.

Qin Mu got angrier the more he thought and said harshly to his agent, "I don’t care; he absolutely can’t shine through this film. Figure out something - this is a fantasy drama, accidents happen. Make sure he can’t continue, force the director to switch actors."

"Qin, understood." The agent’s eyes flashed with slyness.

This scene was where Qin Mu’s first male lead confronts the villain leader, while Ye Shao’s second male lead comes in for support.

They were originally on the same side; the villain leader swings his sword, Ye Shao’s second male lead steps in to block it for Qin Mu’s first male lead.

Before the official shoot, they had rehearsed; everything went smoothly, without issues.

However, as Ye Shao’s second male lead rushed in to block the sword for Qin Mu’s first male lead, the sword, supposed to pierce the second male lead’s chest, was caused by Qin Mu’s slow action to press down Ye Shao, and the sword suddenly swung straight toward Ye Shao’s face.

Though not a real sword, to highlight high quality, the realism was impressive.

Piercing the chest wouldn’t be problematic, yet hitting the face would cut Ye Shao’s face with a bloody mark.

The two were flying in the air, Ye Shao’s face got cut, he winced in pain.

Right then, his wire malfunctioned, causing him to fall down.

Fortunately, midway through the fall, it stopped.

Below, people watched in fear, just as they sighed in relief, unexpectedly Qin Mu’s wire came undone too.

However, instead of falling, he directly kicked Ye Shao, knocking him from the sky.

"Miss Ye."

Ye Shao’s assistant rushed over, crying and shouting Ye Shao’s name.

The director got scared seeing this scene and quickly ordered someone to call for an ambulance.

Actually, many realized Qin Mu did it intentionally.

Qin Mu was jealous of Ye Shao’s acting and looks, deliberately targeting him.

Yet, no one dared speak, no one dared to stand up for Ye Shao.

After all, Ye Shao was still a newcomer, not yet recognized.

But Qin Mu was different; he already had some fame with a powerful patron, no one dared to offend him.

Even if Ye Shao suffered injustice, no one dared speak for him.

Ye Shao’s assistant cried helplessly, the company had another agent present, who also didn’t dare mess with Qin Mu.

Qin Mu, knowing people’s fear of him, pretended to be concerned, "Oh, Ye Shao, are you okay? The injury looks severe, not sure if you can continue acting. Even without body harm, your face is injured, what to do with a harmed face in acting? Unfortunately, before you ever appeared on screen, it’s ruined."

"You seem very pleased with this!" Lin Yue came over, rolling up his sleeves, his face very dark.

Qin Mu paused, asking, "Who are you?"

"The one who’s gonna beat you up."

As Lin Yue spoke, his fists followed, landing a punch on Qin Mu’s face.
