After a romantic dinner with Cliff, Edith was finally able to contact her fiancé via video call. Edith recounted her experience throughout the challenging day, especially during dinner when they discussed plans to stay at a hotel after the engagement party. She saw Callum’s anxious expression on the video call upon hearing this bad news. She was right; Callum was furious to hear it, worried that something unexpected would happen.

"Callum, are you okay?"

"I was actually really angry to hear that he wanted to sleep with you after the engagement party was over. I didn’t want a jerk like him to defile your body after he’d defiled so many women over the years."

"So, what should we do now? I can’t think straight after hearing that disgusting plan."

For a moment Callum snapped his fingers."Edith, I actually like his crazy idea now."

"What do you mean? Weren’t you a bit nervous earlier?"

"If he’s already booked a hotel room for both of you, we might as well make the most of it. Have you forgotten my plan to set a trap for him and Arabella?"

Edith’s eyes widened and her mouth dropped open. "Don’t tell me you’re trying to trap them into sleeping together!"

"It turns out your mindset is now the same as mine."

"At first I thought you were going to set them up just to get them drunk together at the party and they would do something unexpected."

"That’s what I originally planned. But since Cliff’s up to something stupid, I’m sure I’ll go along with it."

Edith burst out laughing as she rolled around on the bed in delight. Callum laughed happily as he stared at his fiancée, who was so happy to do something evil for the first time.

"You’re so cute when you laugh."

Edith immediately sat upright, hugging a pillow. "I like seeing you laugh, too."

"Because we already know his evil plan the day after tomorrow. Now you don’t have to worry anymore. I’ll help you solve your problem."

"But, what if you get dragged into my trouble?"

"I’m totally fine."

"Okay, if you’re okay with it, I won’t stop you from helping me."

"In fact, I want to help you so that all this can be resolved quickly. I don’t like sleeping alone like I do now." His right hand seemed to want to reach for the head of his beloved fiancé on the phone screen.

"Why? If you have lots of friends, won’t you be lonely?"

"I think it’s pointless if I have a lot of friends but they all betray me. It’s better if I don’t have any friends in the first place. You can see for yourself, even though I don’t have any friends, I’m still happy."

Cliff stroked his lover’s head with a deep gaze. "I’ll always be your friend. I mean, your life partner."

Edith smiled gracefully, taking her lover’s hands in hers. "Then, can you grant me one request?"

"What request?"

"Because you will be my life partner, I want you not to betray me one day."

Hearing his lover’s request made him laugh awkwardly. "Of course I won’t betray you. I’ll definitely grant this request. Is there anything more difficult?"

"That’s enough. I think that one request is very difficult."

"Is it because you were betrayed by Callum before?"

Finally, Edith forced another laugh as she stroked Cliff’s head. "We’re having an engagement party tomorrow, and you’re already treating us like we’re already married."
