Becoming Secret Nanny for Possessive CEO-Chapter 50: Sweet Morning Part I
Thanks to talking with her boyfriend all night, Edith slept soundly until the next morning and even woke up late. Since Edith had overslept, Callum was in charge of preparing breakfast quietly before they could argue again.
Callum woke up early, feeling satisfied with his dreamy adventure with the woman he loved. Before leaving the room, he briefly pressed his lips to his lover’s forehead, deeply channeling the morning’s affection. He hadn’t done this in a long time since they’d separated, and now he could finally do it to his heart’s content.
"I’m going to cook a special breakfast for you today. To celebrate us officially getting back together."
A few minutes later, it was Edith’s turn to awaken from her dream world. When she opened her eyes and stretched, she found her lover nowhere to be found. Her intuition told her that he was currently preparing breakfast in the kitchen.
She quickly ran down the stairs, nearly tripping, and then continued running towards the kitchen. Her earlier hunch was correct: her lover was busy preparing breakfast in the kitchen, judging by the fragrant aromas that tantalized her stomach.
Staring at her lover who looked dashing, she walked quickly towards her lover and hugged his muscular body from behind.
"Who told you to cook now?" Edith asked softly.
"I didn’t dare wake you up because you’re so beautiful when you sleep."
"Can you stop flirting with me so early in the morning? I’m even more determined to not let you go."
Callum smiled brightly, slowly stroking the back of his girlfriend’s hand. "I won’t let you go now either, because I miss cooking with you every morning, noon, and night."
Edith immediately broke the hug, wanting to snatch the spatula her lover was holding. "Then, now it’s time for me to take over."
"What if I don’t want to give you my position?" Callum asked, winking with his right eye.
"Callum, I didn’t think you could still be so nosy at a time like this! I told you before, I’ll cook!"
"I still won’t let you."
Her blood pressure began to rise as she faced her childish lover. Her hands nimbly flicked the collar of his shirt. Her eyes were fixed on the spatula still clutched in his hand.
"Even though you are the owner of a famous hotel, why are you happy doing lowly work like this?"
Callum furrowed his brows. "Since when is cooking a menial job? I never thought of it that way."
"But, don’t CEOs in dramas and novels usually hate cooking? They really hate setting foot in the kitchen because it hurts their hands and makes their faces oily."
Callum slowly moved his head closer to his lover’s face, which was only a small distance away. "Do I look like them?"
"Still, I don’t want to let your hand get hurt."
"I guess I’ll have to play a prank on you so we don’t always fight over this. I don’t want to let you cook, because cooking is a man’s job."
Hearing her lover’s ridiculous words made her laugh so hard her cheeks turned red. "This is the first time I’ve heard anyone think cooking is a man’s job."
"Your finger is still injured. I don’t want it to get worse because you’re overworking it."
"Don’t worry. I’m used to this kind of thing." She folded her arms. "Is it that hard for you to let me cook?"
"Yes, because I’m your fiancé. You can cook if I let you."
Her eyes welled up with tears as she heard her lover confidently declare their engagement. This beautiful and sweet holiday morning made her reluctant to face the reality of tomorrow. It had been a long time since she had enjoyed such a happy moment with her lover.
"Why do you cry every time I think of you as my fiancé? Don’t you like it?" Callum wiped his lover’s slightly wet eyelids.
"I actually really like it. It’s too beautiful for me. But I also feel strange every time you call me your fiancé, even though you haven’t even proposed yet."
A beaming smile lit up his handsome face. "You know what? There’s no need to propose so publicly; our marriage will definitely be a happy one. Because in reality, people who are proposed to publicly don’t necessarily live happily ever after."
"Again you say words that are too sweet."
"Besides, I also have to be responsible for you. I slept with you until you got pregnant. I shouldn’t have overdone it."
"You don’t need to feel burdened by that." Her brow furrowed. "Could it be that your mind is still troubled by what that strange woman said?"
Callum nodded. "Actually, what they said was true. You and I had a one-night stand."
"No. I never thought of it that way."
"Edith..."
Edith flashed her most beautiful smile, swinging her lover’s arms happily. "I’m actually so grateful that you overdid it."
"But weren’t you angry at the time? You even thought I was a jerk."
"I’ll take back what I said back then. If you hadn’t slept with me, I wouldn’t be living happily with Cliff." Her lips landed on her lover’s cheek. "Thank you for saving me, Callum. I really never considered what happened that night as a big mistake in my life."
Callum pouted, immediately receiving his lover’s sweet kiss on the cheek. "Why did you only kiss me on the cheek?"
"What do you expect me to kiss?"
"Until now, you’ve been so insensitive." Finally, Callum kissed her red lips gently, making Edith’s eyes widen and she immediately ended the kiss.
"Callumm! Aren’t you afraid the kids will see us?" Her hands gently patted her lover’s arm.
"No way. I made sure they were still fast asleep. When I’m done cooking breakfast, I’ll wake them up."
Edith also desperately wanted her lover to kiss her. She regretted ending the kiss too quickly. Now it was her turn to act sweetly toward him, indirectly asking for a kiss. Her cocky attitude was finally defeated by her spoiled demeanor.
"Callum... kiss me." She brought her lips forward again.
