Chapter 107: Chapter 107: One Request

Edith was actually starting to get curious about Cliff. Why did he suddenly bring up the accident she had five years ago? He had always pretended not to know anything and always told her to forget all the bad memories in the past. Now, Cliff wanted to bring up those bad memories all of a sudden in a critical situation like this. Was there a hidden agenda behind Cliff suddenly wanting to reveal the accident? Was Cliff deliberately provoking her to prevent their relationship from getting even more strained?

Having been deceived by Cliff so many times, Edith no longer wants to believe anything he says. Now Edith wants to break up with Cliff because she wants to focus solely on her relationship with Callum. She doesn’t care how crazy Cliff becomes, as long as from today on, she doesn’t have to be his secret nanny anymore.

Before returning home, Callum was summoned again by his father to the study to discuss something important. Callum didn’t show any happiness, as he didn’t really want anything from his father. He simply wanted his marriage to Edith to be approved.

"What made you call me all of a sudden?"

Kevin smiled faintly as he wiped the dust off his glasses. "Do you like my gift?"

"Yes, I like it. Thank you for giving me the position even though I really wanted to refuse."

"Why? Isn’t that what you’ve always wanted? You’ve worked hard for so many years, but you’ve gotten nothing from me."

"It seems you never really knew me that well. I don’t want your money; I just want the affection of someone who truly loves me. For now, I just want you to approve of Edith and my relationship."

Kevin shook his head, folding his arms. "What made you fall in love with that woman? I’m actually surprised you and Cliff are so crazy about Edith. Arabella is so superior to her."

"Edith is the only woman who truly loves me. I always feel comfortable with her. That’s why I don’t want to be separated from her again. Especially now that I have children, I don’t want my twins to be without their parents."

"I spoke harshly about Erdin before. If I let you raise Erdin, he would also be considered an illegitimate child. But since you’ve brought me proof that Erdin is your son, I admit defeat. I’ll let Erdin live with you."

Callum turned around, his head held high. "Thank you for letting me raise my son."

"Since you’ll be taking Cliff’s place, you should also be responsible for clarifying your relationship with Edith. Don’t let everyone be confused about your relationship."

Callum didn’t hesitate to take his fiancée on a date outside the home. After spending so long dating indoors or at the office, they were finally able to date freely. After a long chat with his father, Callum took his fiancée for a leisurely walk in the city park. Finally, he could smile brightly in front of his beloved fiancée after overcoming all the hardships they had faced.

"Callum, what were you talking about with your dad earlier? Why have you been smiling all this time?"

Callum kissed his fiancée briefly on the cheek. "I smile because of you, not because of my father."

"Can you stop sweet-talking me? I’m getting hot under the collar because you’re so sweet."

"But, actually, I can smile because I have you in my life. If I had maintained my relationship with Arabella, I wouldn’t be smiling right now. Besides, we’re getting married for business reasons."

"By the way, is it okay if we officially announce our relationship on social media?"

"Of course. Why would we be afraid when we are truly in love with each other?"

Her cheeks grew even redder at the sweet talk her fiancé continued to utter. "Callum, I was actually a bit worried about you when your father suddenly called you. I was worried you’d been threatened again."

"If I look at it, my father has actually approved of our relationship."

"Really? You’re not joking, are you?"

Callum smiled playfully, pinching the soft cheek in front of him. "I never joke around when it comes to love. Even my dad made me release a statement clarifying my relationship with you."

"I thought our relationship would still be frowned upon because you and I are both illegitimate children. Your father must hate me. He’s been loving me under duress all this time because Cliff wants to marry me."

"Actually, I was the one who persuaded him earlier. He wanted to give up Cliff’s position for me, but I told him I didn’t expect to get it because I wouldn’t necessarily be happy. I just wanted his blessing for our relationship."

"So, now can we really go on a date outside the house?"

Callum nodded, cradling his fiancée’s tiny body. "Of course. I want to show everyone that you’re the woman I love so much, and that Erdin and Eliana are my biological children."

Meanwhile, Cliff still didn’t want to leave his family’s home because he wasn’t satisfied with his argument with his parents about Callum setting him up. He kept pacing, biting his nails. He was actually fed up with staring at his phone, which was filled with messages from people seeking clarification on his relationship with Edith.

"Cliff, you should calm down first!" Diana suggested firmly.

"How can I be calm, Mom?! Now my father is siding with Callum because that bastard is smarter than me!"

"Your father must have had a hidden reason for handing over your position to Callum. He must have done it on purpose to get Callum into trouble."

Cliff furrowed his eyebrows. "What do you mean?"

"Have you forgotten the accident Callum and his little family experienced five years ago? It’s impossible for traces of that accident to disappear overnight. It happened after Callum had an argument with your father."

"Wait a minute! Could it be that father is the main culprit behind the accident?!"

"Lower your voice, Cliff!"

"This sounds interesting. Then, I’ll let Callum live happily with his fiancée for now."
