Becoming Rich with Daily Scavenging APP-Chapter 377: Public Interest Modeling Project
"Is there a game company considering modeling and incorporating the attractions and cultural relics from the Sanjin Province’s scenic spots into a game?"
Upon hearing Chen Yiyang’s words, the Historian immediately nodded and said, "It just so happens that I have some connections over in Sanjin. I’ll help you communicate when the time comes."
"Let’s go together then," Chen Yiyang said to the Historian. "I have another idea—to establish a nonprofit company to preserve our country’s cultural relics and famous attractions through modeling and digitalization.
Considering our relationship, I was thinking of starting with the cultural relics at the Lin’an Museum by scanning and modeling them. How about it?"
"Helping with the communication over in Sanjin? We’ll consider that my favor to you. But modeling the cultural relics at Lin’an Museum, we’ll have to figure out separately."
"Then you can just state your demands."
"How about the matter you mentioned last time about visiting your collection room?"
"Sure, no problem." Chen Yiyang nodded and agreed promptly.
He had previously considered taking the Historian to see his collection room.
Since the Historian brought it up, Chen Yiyang didn’t delay and took him to his villa that very evening.
"Oh wow, a Warring States Crystal Cup. One from the Provincial Museum and now one here." The Historian, being an expert, immediately noticed the Warring States Crystal Cup in Chen Yiyang’s collection room.
"Just a trinket, just a trinket," Chen Yiyang quickly said.
"There’s nothing in here that could be called a trinket," the Historian said, becoming increasingly amazed as he looked around the room.
In the collection room, which was over a hundred square meters, the national treasure-level relics were packed tightly together.
Most were even famous artifacts prohibited from leaving the country.
"Where’s this Kasaya from?" the Historian asked when he saw the Kasaya that Chen Yiyang brought back from Japan.
"From Japan. Back then, some Japanese prince embroidered words and gifted the same Kasaya to Monk Jianzhen. I found it in Japan and brought it back."
"This item, let alone domestically—even in Japan, it would be considered a national treasure. Didn’t the Japanese customs confiscate it?"
"I mixed it in with a pile of medieval Japanese clothing, so customs didn’t recognize it," Chen Yiyang said, casually.
Indeed, for many historical relics, if you’re not a professional appraiser, you can’t distinguish between real relics and mere crafts.
Unless customs have prior information, it’s difficult to catch contraband relics hidden in luggage.
"Originally, I thought that Xu Weili’s document was something you just bought on a stroke of luck.
Now, it appears your connections and insight in this field are better than mine."
The more the Historian looked at Chen Yiyang’s collection, the more astonished he became.
Originally, he thought Chen Yiyang’s personal collection room had only a few precious items.
But when he arrived and took a look.
It wasn’t just a few valuable items; all were exceptionally precious or had research value.
In comparison, the relics from Lin’an Museum were numerous but nowhere near as precious.
"What a waste, what a waste," the Historian said, shaking his head.
"What are you talking about? Having these relics in my collection is hardly a waste."
"I mean, your collection room is too small. These treasures are crammed in here like they’re in a small shop, far too inadequate for them."
"That’s true," Chen Yiyang nodded, suddenly remembering something. "However, I have an art gallery in Jin City; I can store them there."
"Why Jin City? Store them in Lin’an!"
Hearing this, the Historian leapt up on the spot. "I’ll help you apply for a plot to build a private museum. You won’t have to worry about preserving the relics, I’ll have my students intern there for free to work on it. How about that?"
"Alright," Chen Yiyang agreed since the Historian had gone ahead and suggested it.
But he was a bit curious.
Once this private museum is really built and he exhibits the Kasaya from Japan, the Holy Sword from France.
Will people from those two countries come running to reclaim them?
That’s likely something to deal with years down the line.
Chen Yiyang wasn’t in a hurry and wanted to handle the current matters first.
After touring Chen Yiyang’s private collection room, the Historian left.
The two agreed to depart for the Sanjin Province together in three days.
Meanwhile, the next day, Chen Yiyang went to visit the studio of the domestic single-player game development team that Wu Changxun mentioned.
"Hello, Mr. Chen, hello!" The company’s boss was already waiting at the door upon learning Chen Yiyang was coming.
"My name is Ji Feng, you can call me Xiao Ji, Mr. Chen."
"You’re older than me, so I’ll call you Old Ji instead."
Chen Yiyang was quite amiable and after chatting briefly with Old Ji, he went to their game studio.
"Did you just move here?" Chen Yiyang asked curiously, looking at the rather chaotic workspace.
"Yes, our studio used to be in Peng City, but due to various factors, along with favorable policies in Lin’an, we moved here."
Ji Feng finished and briefly introduced their studio to Chen Yiyang.
The studio is called Science Games, and the main team members had all worked at Tengxu before.
"At Tengxu, we developed an online game based on Journey to the West. So after breaking away from Tengxu, we’ve always wanted to create a single-player game based on Journey to the West."
"You’ve been independent for quite some time. Have you been working on it since the start?" Chen Yiyang asked curiously.
"No, when the studio was first established, the development cycle for single-player games was too long, so I wanted to earn some money before making a single-player game.
So, our studio started by developing a mobile game. After achieving a stable income, we began working on the single-player game."
"That’s a pretty good choice," Chen Yiyang said after listening and nodding.
Having dreams is good, but the premise of dreams is to fill your stomach first.
Chen Yiyang feared this group might be pure idealists who’d sacrifice their sustenance for their dreams.
Such actions often lead to failure.
"Can I see your game’s demo now?" Chen Yiyang asked.
"Certainly," Ji Feng replied readily.
It wasn’t long before he started demonstrating the game they were developing to Chen Yiyang on a computer.
The game featured a protagonist strikingly similar to Sun Wukong fighting a white dragon boss.
Though there were numerous flaws in the details, whether in style, art, or other aspects, the game was distinctly Chinese.
It’s a genuine domestic single-player game.
"Amazing," Chen Yiyang praised, clapping after watching. Even though he had prepared mentally before coming, seeing the demo still shocked him.
