Becoming a Monster-Chapter 101: The second Fallen
Chapter 101: Chapter 101: The second Fallen
[Arachne has finished her evolution, becoming an Impure Queen! She now gains an addition of 10 extra attribute points per level!
[Since Arachne allowed herself to become tainted by you, she has also chosen to follow your path and has obtained the title ’The Fallen’, further her mana during the process of evolution.]
Three skills have been acquired and previous class skills and perks have been modified; Sinful Decree, Wrongful Judgment, Embodiment of Sins]
[Sinful Decree- You are a queen and no one should stand higher than you, for if they do, they are committing a grave sin. When you are opposed, for every heretic opposing you, you can lower any, one stat by 30% if that stat is higher than yours. If the heretic happens to be the same race as you then you can lower two stats by 30%, for going against their own Queen is an ever greater sin. Duration of the skill lasts for five minutes, each use consuming 25 mana. Ability’s debuff duration and percentage is lowered by half when met with resistance. The skill is unable to be stacked and doesn’t require additional mana consumption when in progress.]
[Wrongful Judgment- Imbuing your webs in your tainted mana, you can attach it to those you view are wrongful doers that will punish them when proven guilty. The webs would slowly attempt to imbed itself into the heretics skin and when the stat that was proven sinful by Sinful Decree becomes lower than half of your attribute that was blasphemed against, they will be inflicted with your judgment pertaining to that attribute. Each web can potentially lower the attribute afflicted by Sinful Decree by 1 per second, the reduction is lowered when resisted. Consume 5 mana to imbue your webs for each web used.]
[Embodiment of Sins- All atrocities against you should be punished, when the heretic is under the influence of Sinful Decree and is in the process of being judged, Embodiment of Sins will test their loyalty. Every second will decrease the stat being judged by one point per second until their sin has been decided.
[Your tamed creature, Arachne, has achieved the first limits of 50 stats in magic . Perk based on class Undead Queen obtained: Web domain.]
Web Domain(Lvl 0):By imbuing your webs with mana, you can now perceive physical interference with them without needing to be in direct contact. Each web created with this function costs 1 mana, and it will provide a vague sense of direction when the web is touched.
[Caught in the eyes of the spider has been modified to Queen’s unfair gaze(Lvl 2): Why anticipate an action when you can command it? When your eyes are set on a target, you have a higher chance to manipulate the target’s actions by a small margin. The chance to proc is rare, increasing the probability by the disparity of your spirit compared to the targets, the bigger the discrepancy, the higher the chance to activate.
[Painful Death has been modified to Tainted demise (Lvl 0)-Your poison is more than just a weapon to kill, your poison will now constantly decrease the opponents body stats depending on where the poison was inflicted by .25 points per second, less if resisted.
[Recovering Leap has been modified to Gracious offering(Lvl 0): Food is not only nutrients for the body, but also the soul. When consuming victims who hold mana, instead of replenishing your bodily energy, you are able to consume and convert mana into your own. For every 5% of stamina that would be absorbed, 1% is replenished in your mana reserves instead.
[Danger sense has been modified to Queen’s Intuition(Lvl 1): When there’s anything that can threaten your hierarchy, your sixth sense will notice. From plotting, to intentions, you will sometimes notice it as long as it is within one of your senses.]

He didn’t take long to review the information he received. Comparing skills, he found that Arachne’s abilities weren’t as direct as Fenrir’s, so he took longer to fully understand her newly developed powers. She appeared to be the direct opposite of him.
"Instead of obtaining stats, her abilities seem to focus on lowering the enemy’s stats. But both are good in their own way. Lowering someone’s stats in the middle of a fight would make it hard for the opponent to adjust if the decrease is large enough. And if a fight is drawn out long enough, then it’ll only be in her favor," Noah thought, assessing her potential.
As he considered this, his eyes narrowed on two particular things that concerned him with what he saw.
"There it goes calling me tainted again... but what does it mean for her to become a fallen too? She never cared about humans in the first place... I shouldn’t count, right? No... her evolution even said that she would be despised by her own kind, so it could mean that as well... I should just count this as a blessing," Noah admonished himself, reigning in his complaints. He was aware of how much potential the title held. Having the potential to increase the potency of the mana cores was an exponential benefit in itself, not to mention the benefits she already obtained from it just from her evolution.
With an unbiased outlook, he once again assessed her information. This allowed him to come across something he overlooked before, while simultaneously giving him an epiphany. It was a bold idea, but also a reminder that his thinking process was being hindered by his own tunnel vision, lack of knowledge, and creativity of his only abilities.
"If the system is confused about her race too, then wouldn’t that mean that her race is no longer the same as the spider she once was?" he questioned himself, the answer seeming obvious but prompting deeper reflection. Looking at his own skills and thinking about his showdown with the Zombie King, he couldn’t shake the thought that perhaps he could upgrade his spider trait the same way he upgraded his zombie trait.
"And if that’s the case, then..." Noah glanced towards Fenrir, who was digging a hole just because he was bored. The hole was already deep enough for Noah to stand completely.
"Fenrir!" The sound of dirt flinging out onto the ground abruptly stopped. There was a slight pause afterwards as Fenrir second-guessed whether his name was actually called. Seconds later, Fenrir’s massive head peeked out from the hole, looking in Noah’s direction. His eyes widened in surprise and excitement when confirming Noah’s attention for him. More dirt than before was flung out of the hole as Fenrir used too much force to extricate himself from his own trap.
Noah’s deadpanned face reflected his helplessness, but the luster returned to his eyes when Fenrir finally approached his side.
Looking up at Fenrir’s massive and intimidating frame once again, Noah couldn’t help but reach out to caress Fenrir’s fur, feeling proud to have such an ominous yet cool-looking partner.
"Hey big guy, this will sound weird, but I need a little bit of your blood," Noah stated, eliciting a surprised stare from both Fenrir and Arachne in return. Their somewhat judging gaze for some reason made Noah feel embarrassed, causing him to explain himself further.
"You both know that I was able to become something like Arachne after accidentally consuming her venom, right?" he asked rhetorically, gaining a nod from Arachne but an even deeper confused stare from Fenrir, who had no clue what he was talking about, causing Noah to sigh exasperatedly.
"What I’m saying is that I could potentially become more like you if I were to drink some of your blood, potentially bec—Fenrir, you idiot!" Noah yelled in helpless frustration. Fenrir’s enthusiasm at the prospect of his master becoming more like himself spurred him to bite through his arm, granting his master as much blood as possible to ensure the possible transformation.
Gasps of horror sounded behind Noah, but he ignored the current bystanders as he reached out his hands to form a makeshift cup. Although he should be concerned with Fenrir’s well-being, Noah was completely confident in his healing capabilities, even more so now that he was an evolved form of his former self.
As he cupped the purplish liquid in his hands, Noah couldn’t help but notice the density of the liquid. Despite its liquid texture and form, it was close to becoming a sappy substance.
"Noah, wait!" When he finished admiring the viscous blood, his palm was already positioned towards his mouth when he was interrupted by Arachene, who immediately approached his side. He looked towards her, his confusion evident in his eyes as he waited to hear why she interrupted him. And yet his confusion shifted to concern as he was bombarded by Arachen’s feelings of jealousy, and a deep desire of possessiveness.
"Will.....will you use my blood instead?" The hesitant spider asked, unsure why she was feeling so uneasy to voice the question.
Noah stared into her gaze, dumbstruck to her question, not because she asked it, but his mind was trying to formulate the reason it was asked in the first place.
Noah couldn’t help but chuckle, the sound escaping his lips as he swallowed the blood in its entirety. He licked his lips, savoring the intense delicacy of the blood. He hadn’t expected such a stark difference in quality between Fenrir’s blood and that of the zombies. It was like comparing an exquisite wine to flavored water. He had almost forgotten his reason for drinking it in the first place.
However, his attention was soon drawn to Arachne, pure betrayal etched into her face. Her mouth gaped open, paralyzed with her own inner turmoil. Using his now bloody hand, he pushed up on her bottom chin to close her mouth, finally gaining a reaction before he hurriedly responded to her.
"Don’t worry, you’ll have your turn soon. Until then don’t let anyone approach me other than the girl from before ok?" He answered her gently before he closed his eyes, expecting to be notified of any changes within his body.
Meanwhile, Arachne stood in her current position, stunned from Noah’s touch. Her body mindlessly reached for her chin, rubbing the last spot of his warmth before an unknowing smile emerged.
"Grrrww! Master likes me best!" Fenrir boosted proudly, and gained a death stare from Arachne in return. Her mood dramatically lessoned, snorting in displeasure before turning her back on him. She didn’t want to argue with Fenrir as she was focused on reminiscing Noah’s touch.
[Warning! You have consumed the substance of another unique zombie, one of a higher tier. Would you want to replace your current trait, ’Zombie Lord’ with ’Undead Alpha’? Doing so will cause you to lose all abilities gained from the respective trait while gaining new ones from the newly acquired genes.]
[Warning, genetics is of a higher tier than previous zombie genetics, if not chosen quickly then the Undead Alpha trait will directly override your previous genetics.]
Noah froze as the warning appeared in his "vision"; he wasn’t expecting to have to choose. He had expected either to be given additional features or not be able to obtain a new trait altogether. The two choices now weighed heavily on him.
’Replacing "Zombie Lord" with "Undead Alpha" could mean gaining more powerful abilities, but that also means I would most likely lose the ability I got from the zombie king. I’m not sure if I want to replace those abilities; both skills literally saved my life and fit my current skill sets that I feel I would be losing out if I were to lose them now. But again... higher tier usually means stronger overall abilities. Who’s to say that the new skills won’t be better than what I already have?’
Noah stressfully pondered under his inner dialogue, considering the potential benefits and drawbacks. However, the future wasn’t certain, and the potential abilities weren’t certain. All he had to go on was his intuition, logic, and safety, which told him to stay with what he already had, but his intuition was telling a different story.
After a long moment of deliberation, he made his decision.
’Accept.’
Noah braced himself for the changes that were about to come, hoping that this gamble would pay off.
When he accepted, Noah’s eyes widened due to an intense pain, accompanied by an unsettling feeling. Momentarily, he saw the shock of worry from his creatures before his eyes rolled back inside of his head, his body allowing gravity to take him, hitting the ground with a soft thud.
Both Arachne and Fenrir became highly alert due to Noah’s distress as they moved closer to protect him. Instinctual awareness allowed them to realize that Noah was undergoing a new transformation.
Murmurs began to echo in the courtyard as nosy students couldn’t help themselves from watching everything transpire on Noah’s side. Seeing him faint was the pinnacle of gossip, while watching his creatures aggressively protecting him furthered the need to spread the gossip.
The initial gossip started as low whispering, but seeing both Noah and the creatures not responding to them, their courage bolstered, letting them acquire the backbone to speak even more daringly.
Their loud talking soon attracted some of the people withdrawn in the dorms, slowly accumulating more onlookers.
Ailetta soon became aware of their loud murmurings. Curiosity gripped her as she hurried to put on her armor, brandishing her staff before running outside to find Noah fainted on the grass.
Worry consumed her as she impulsively ran towards him. However, she froze in place when a predatory and vicious growl sounded in front of her. The looming figure’s shadow made her aware of the creature’s identity. Fear gripped her, yet her body, strongly shivering, showed her overpowering desire to still go to Noah’s side.
