Chapter 463: Nana Comes to Visit

However, in the script Silvanus had written for Dorian, the Dark Elf mode should only activate when he was extremely enraged, or when he desperately wanted to do something that required immense power—or total destruction.

But this was Dorian. How could his anger be so easily triggered? Moreover, Dorian had been crying in deep sorrow the entire time, only stopping when he saw him. He had even voluntarily broken free from Utafea’s restraints. Although none of these things seemed directly connected, they somehow felt like the right answer—that Dorian had become like this because of him.

Could it be because he had become Undead?

"Dorian, look—it’s me, Silvanus. You still recognize me, right?" Silvanus tapped lightly on the wooden framework encasing him. "Could you let me out for a moment?"

"I can barely breathe..."

Dorian had always been soft-hearted. Even though Silvanus didn’t know whether this Dark Elf form would be the same, he decided to try anyway.

A faint sound answered him. Dorian seemed to be saying something, though at this point his words were nothing more than creaking, door-like noises—harsh and difficult to make out.

Still, the wooden frame around Silvanus actually began to split apart. A sliver of light shone in from outside. They were now in a completely different place, beneath a high dome seemingly woven from countless vines.

Silvanus lifted his head and immediately met Dorian’s lowered gaze. Dorian’s ruby-like eyes reflected Silvanus’s figure, fixed on him with intense focus, so intent that he barely seemed to blink.

Facing him, Silvanus spoke softly, "You still recognize me, don’t you, Dorian?"

Dorian tilted his head, his eyes blinking. Silvanus couldn’t help but smile faintly, his voice gentle, almost coaxing. "Could you go back to your normal form, Dorian?"

At that, Dorian parted his lips and let out a small sound. It was unclear whether he understood Silvanus’s words or not, but he only continued to stare at him, as if Silvanus were some kind of fascinating creature.

Silvanus pointed upward again. "Can we leave this place? It’s too cramped here."

Hearing that, Dorian immediately retreated a little, trying to compress his massive body as thin as possible, leaving more space for Silvanus.

Silvanus: "..."

Now he could be certain—Dorian could hear him. He was just choosing selectively which parts to obey.

Although doing this would exceed the limits of the world and draw attention, Silvanus had no other choice.

He raised his hand. Dorian instinctively lowered his head and pressed it against Silvanus’s palm.

The corners of Silvanus’s lips curved slightly. At the same time, a dazzling, sacred light bloomed from his palm, cascading downward and enveloping Dorian entirely.

Dorian’s eyes flew open, and then he suddenly began to struggle violently. He didn’t want to regain his clarity.

But Silvanus was incredibly fast. In the blink of an eye, the chaotic currents of energy within Dorian were reorganized. His body began to glow, then collapsed to the ground. In an instant, the colossal form vanished. The vines swiftly withdrew back into the earth, and at last, light poured down upon them.

Dorian’s body fell forward, only to be caught by Silvanus. At this moment, Dorian was completely unclothed. His slender back bore only a pair of translucent, pale-blue wings that drooped and trailed behind him.

A red spot suddenly appeared on Dorian’s back, glaringly bright. Silvanus hurriedly wiped away the blood continuously spilling from his own eyes, pulled out a cloak to wrap around Dorian, then quickly used invisibility magic and flew toward Leon’s mansion.

He was the one who had created them. His power could calm them—and even heal them. That was, however, under the condition that he was at his peak, seated upon a true divine throne, not as he was now.

Fortunately, everything had still gone relatively smoothly.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Nick saw Leon return alone and grew so anxious that he paced back and forth nonstop, to the point where it seemed the ground might be worn into a trench by his feet.

Cain stood off to the side, watching him with great interest, as if all he was missing was a plate of sunflower seeds.

Nick couldn’t help but roar, "Why are you all so calm?! Marax, Nerio..." These two should have been the most worried of all—whenever Silvanus was around, they were always the ones clinging to him the closest.

Cain chuckled softly. "That’s a friend, not an enemy. Master will bring him back very soon."

Nick was stunned when he heard that. Silvanus... was friends with that dangerous being? Just what kind of creatures had he been making friends with, anyway?

Cain then reached out and rubbed Nerio’s head. "I was originally hoping he might be able to help Nerio a bit, but judging from the situation now, that hope doesn’t seem very great."

Nerio frowned and dodged his touch.

At this moment, Cain looked toward Leon and asked, "Tell us a bit about that Dark Elf, Sentinel."

"Just call me Leon," Leon said in a low voice. "The Dark Elf was originally the prince of Eldoria. However, for reasons unknown, the moment he set foot in Lumina, he suddenly went mad and fell into corruption. It’s said that on that day, many powerful figures had to join forces just to kill him..."

"Kill him? Hahaha." Cain burst out laughing. Leon fell silent.

Cain quickly waved his hand, still smiling. "Alright, alright, go on."

Leon didn’t really have much more information. He only said, "Utafea probably stumbled upon the Dark Elf’s hiding place by chance. Seeing that he was weak and unable to resist, they brought him back, planning to put him up for auction. They likely never expected this to happen."

"A bunch of idiots, hah." Cain truly felt not the slightest bit of pity for those who had died today, mocking them without the least restraint.

Just then, a sound suddenly came from outside the door. Silvanus’s figure quickly appeared. Nick immediately lunged forward like a startled rabbit, anxiously staring at him. "Silvanus, what’s wrong with your eyes?!"

At the same time, he noticed the person Silvanus was carrying in his arms, and Nick couldn’t help but freeze for a moment. Golden hair spilled down, almost completely obscuring that person’s face, revealing only a hint of the bridge of the nose and the lips. Nick’s first thought was that the Dark Elf turned out to be a young woman, and suddenly he didn’t seem quite so detestable anymore. His second thought was that Silvanus really did have impeccable taste in companions—why was every girl around him so beautiful?!

"Sh-she... she’s alright too, right? This is the Dark Elf?" he asked.

Cain suddenly snorted with laughter from the side. Even Silvanus couldn’t help glancing at Nick. "His face isn’t that feminine."

As if he had completely forgotten that the first time he’d seen Dorian from afar, he himself had also mistaken him for a girl.

Nick was so shocked that his mouth fell open. Silvanus had already gone ahead to ask Leon to prepare a room. Nerio trailed after them, his small hand clutching the hem of Silvanus’s cloak, occasionally lifting his head to look at Dorian.

Not long after they left, loud knocks sounded at the main gate again. A short while later, a servant hurried in to report that a member of the Nobility from Luminous wished to see Leon.

Cain raised an eyebrow and said lightly, "Leon is busy at the moment. Bring them in to see me instead."

The servant couldn’t help hesitating. Nick also couldn’t quite understand how Marax could act so comfortably, as if this were his own home.

The servant remained hesitant, but recalling Leon’s instructions, he finally ushered Nana and her group inside.

To show her sincerity, Nana had come alone. She had heard that Leon didn’t like meeting people either, and she hadn’t expected the main gate to open so easily. However, the moment she saw the people in the reception room, her brows furrowed.

Even if Leon didn’t often meet outsiders, everyone knew that Leon was a man.

Yet now, a woman was seated in the host’s chair, with two men standing behind her, as if they were... subordinates?

Nana didn’t want to waste time on meaningless formalities. She spoke directly, "Greetings. I wish to see Mr. Leon. Please help inform him."

Cain smiled at Nana and said softly, "Such a lovely young lady. Why don’t you introduce yourself and tell us your purpose for coming here?"

Before Nana could say anything, Cain continued in a gentle tone, "Here, my authority is far greater than Leon’s."

Nana didn’t quite believe her—especially since this woman’s slightly flippant attitude made her feel distinctly uncomfortable. It was a sensation as though she were once again facing the Grand Princess of Aqualon. Although she later learned that that wasn’t the real Grand Princess, but someone else in disguise.

Nana remained standing there, facing the woman. In the end, she took a seat and slowly said, "I am Nana Aurellan, the heir of the Aurellan family. I received a hint suggesting that someone I have long been searching for is in this land—someone who will aid me on the path to restoring peace to the Land of Light."
