Become A Character Who Dies Within Three Chapters-Chapter 65: A Fight Breaks Out
It had been a week since the day Louis turned into a black veil and floated in midair. Luckily, he managed to slip into Zone 1 conveniently. ๐๐ซ๐๐๐จ๐๐ฏ๐๐ ๐๐๐.๐๐ผ๐
Zone 1 was a sacred, untouchable area that only applied to ordinary people. For a monster like Louis, entering this place was far too easy. After that, it took him another two days to infiltrate Sylusโs palace.
Louis couldnโt help but feel that Sylus was far too careless. If his mission had been to assassinate Sylus, he was sure he could have pulled it off flawlessly!
666 was especially considerate, even guiding the way. Clearly, it was far too eager to see this first mission completed.
Sylusโs palace was perched atop the tallest tower in Zone 1, almost piercing the heavens. Most of the architecture in Zone 1 was composed of bizarrely towering spires, structures that only the winged inhabitants here could withstand.
So, to avoid being discovered, Louis shifted from flying to crawling.
After enduring many difficulties, he finally slipped into Sylusโs palace!
In a spot no one paid attention to, a black substance stretched into a thin strand, slipping through a ventilation shaft. A pair of eyes emerged from the top of that ooze, peering down at the grand palace below.
But the moment he saw the scene beneath him, Louis couldnโt help but freeze.
Because standing there... was a figure so familiar it couldnโt be more familiar.
"Why are you there, my lord?!" 666โs doubtful voice rang out as well.
Louisโs face darkened. "Iโd really like to know that too." Pausing briefly, he mused, "Maybe Sylus retrieved my body in an attempt to resurrect it. With the level of advancement in Zone 1, reviving someone isnโt impossibleโas long as their brain still exists."
But Louisโs situation was different. His brain still physically existed, but his will had already transferred into this new body. That brain was nothing more than an empty memory drive.
"Perhaps later I can ask Sylus to return my body. This feeling is amusingโitโs almost like I could marry myself," Louis said with a cheerful grin.
666: "Please donโt say things like that, my lord. We must focus on our mission."
To the two-year-old system, missions always came first.
At that very moment, the door suddenly swung open. Sylus walked in, arms full of snacks and a gaming console.
Looking at him nowโaside from his body having grown much larger far too quicklyโhe seemed almost the same as before.
"Letโs play some games."
Sylus spoke as if it were the most natural thing in the world, pulling "Louis" down to sit on the floor with him, carrying none of the aura of a king.
Louis watched Sylus talking to himself while playing, and couldnโt help but feel speechless. "Doesnโt he get bored? I really donโt get it."
666, on the other hand, was already sniffling. "My lord, you donโt understand. This is friendship. Even though you died, Sylus still remembers you. The bond between you two is truly admirable."
Louis only felt a chill down his spine. "He couldโve found another friend." As if they were lifelong companions or somethingโhe hadnโt even stayed in Sylusโs home for a week. Best not to try to guess what went on in the minds of these lunatics.
666: "Why havenโt you gone down yet? If Sylus sees you again, heโll definitely be overjoyed!"
Completely moved by Sylusโs "friendship," 666 nearly wanted to fling Louis right before him at once.
Louis was at a loss for words. "That was the plan, but I feel a little uncertain right now."
Something about Sylusโs current demeanor unsettled him. Usually, Sylus came across as the most ordinary of them all, so seeing him act strangely now deepened Louisโs unease.
But since he was already here, he had to stop Sylus from going mad and destroying the world.
The black substance slithered out from its hiding place, quickly pooling together on the floor. Sylus seemed to sense something, turning his head to look back. His obsidian-like eyes shone unfathomable brilliance, and with the scar running down the center of his face, he looked rather fierce.
Yet the moment he saw the figure standing there, Sylus froze. His lips parted slightly, a flicker of confusion in his eyes. Instinctively, he glanced at the Louis sitting beside him.
Then, all of a sudden, he leapt forward.
Before Louis could react, Sylus had already pounced, like a dog seeing its owner. His slightly messy hair was so soft that Louis couldnโt help but reach out and ruffle it.
Sylus held Louis very gently, as though afraid he might vanish at any moment.
"Louis, youโre finally back. Letโs play games together!" Sylus said.
Louis couldnโt help but squint at him, his gaze deep and full of curiosity.
He waved a hand, and the "Louis" sitting on the floor instantly vanished. Louis gapedโhe hadnโt even had a chance to demand his body back!
Sylus didnโt notice Louisโs expression and pulled him down to sit.
Louis snorted coldly, "Iโm not playing."
What does Sylus think Iโm a child?
Sylus seemed a little puzzled when he heard that. He tilted his head and looked at Louis with confusion. "This is clearly my dreamโwonโt you even obey me in my dream?"
He babbled, "Iโm sorry for leaving you alone at home before, okay? Can we make up?"
Louis was at a loss for words while staring at Sylus. Finally, he understood what was odd about Sylus: he talked like a child and seemed to think he was still dreaming.
Suddenly, Louis slapped Sylusโs cheeks hard simultaneously, his face serious as he looked at him: "Does it hurt?"
Sylus opened his eyes wide, puzzled, staring at Louis.
Louis frowned. "Iโm Louisโalive, not dead, okay? Are you awake yet? I have something important to tell you. Or do you want me to beat you up?"
Sylus answered instinctively, "Beat me then..."
"Hah." Louis laughed in anger and didnโt stop; with a cruel expression, he began to throw punches.
"Smack!"
Sylusโs face was shoved to one side, a painful shockโhis nose might even be bleeding. He stared in a daze, but Louis didnโt stop and kept punching.
Sylus reacted, dodging while using his weight to pin Louis down and counterattack.
The two rolled into a tangle, no finesse at allโpunching and clawing, tearing at each otherโs faces.
Inside Louisโs head, 666 screamed nonstop: "God, Sylus deserves to dieโhow dare he treat you like that? Unforgivable!"
It wanted to tear Sylus apart.
Irritated by it, Louis suddenly bellowed, "Shut up!"
At that, not only did 666 fall silent, but Sylus also frozeโjust in time to take another punch from Louis to his left eye.
Sylus toppled backward; Louis sprawled on the floor, gasping.
Louis stood and looked down at Sylus from above.
He lay motionless, eyes fixed on the ceiling, both eyes bruised and swollen, a bruise at the corner of his mouth, fresh blood at the lip, a few streaks of blood on his cheeks.
Louis knew he hadnโt held back, and Sylus was the sameโtheir faces ached all over now.
Thinking of his handsome face, beaten blue and black, Louis wanted to hit Sylus once more to vent his anger.
He looked at him coldly. "Does it hurt now? Do you know whether this is a dream or real?"
Sylus opened his eyes wide and stared at Louis, then suddenly sprang up, happily rubbing Louisโs head with such force it seemed like he might press Louisโs head into the floor. "Buddy, youโre actually alive!"
