After getting out of bed, Si Shuo gnawed on a Dust Cleaning Talisman, then took out milk to feed the pups. The four little ones sat in a row beside her, drinking their milk obediently. Seeing them made her heart melt into a puddle, so she grabbed a large bottle for herself to get some nutrition, too.
When Xiao Cheng parted the curtain and came in, he was greeted by the sight of one big person and four little ones drinking milk. He burst out laughing, only for Si Shuo to shove a bottle right in his face.
"What would you like for breakfast? Brother Zile, Brother Xu Chi, and Yin Jiang went to the Beast Soldier Camp. Brother Gong You and Brother Wei Ce went to gather supplies first..." Without Si Shuo even having to ask, Xiao Cheng smilingly explained what everyone in the family was up to.
"A bowl of brown sugar millet porridge, two tea-leaf eggs, a dish of pickled cucumber, a boiled corn on the cob, and two steamers of lamb buns!"
As Si Shuo listed her order, Xiao Cheng brought the food out, adding a large platter of fruit at the end.
"Let’s go eat under the shade of the trees. It’s nice and cool outside right now," Xiao Cheng suggested.
Si Shuo hummed in agreement, carrying Tuanzi and Yuanyuan as she walked outside. Xu Ye, meanwhile, transformed into a small Deer to carry his chubby little sister on his back.
Xiao Cheng spread out the Beast Skins, conjured a small metal table, and covered it with all the food.
Having slept for a long time, Si Shuo was quite hungry and dug in. The pups also quietly picked out what they liked and could eat, staying obediently to the side. No one would ever guess that each one was more mischievous than the last.
It was only after she finished eating that she noticed the grassy area, which had been empty yesterday. Now, aside from the walkways, it was entirely covered with thin stones, upon which the items gathered by the beastmen yesterday were laid out to dry.

The males took turns going up the mountain to gather, while the females and pups, who couldn’t keep up physically, stayed home to help turn the drying goods and shoo away any birds or insects trying to steal a bite.
Seeing that she had finished her meal, three female members of the Iron-eating Beast Clan from across the river eagerly crossed the wooden bridge to come share some gossip with her.
"Si Shuo, you went to bed early yesterday, so you don’t know the huge thing that happened!"
