Beast World: A Fragile Beauty Blessed with Many Children-Chapter 142 - 141: How is One Enough?
The Beast Husbands were long used to her occasional cravings for new foods. Gong You immediately informed the group leader, and their family stopped.
Gong You immediately activated the Time Rule to shorten the time they spent falling behind. Xu Chi used his Wind Ability to clear a space to cook.
Si Shuo purchased a large quantity of soaked rice noodles. She instructed Gong You to pour oil into the wok, then add eggs, meat, and vegetables, followed by the noodles for a stir-fry.
Yin Jiang and Xiao Cheng watched attentively from the side, learning as well. ’As Beast Husbands, they had to learn how to care for their female and their future cubs!’
Ji Liang went out for a quick hunt and caught a few plump wild rabbits. After roasting them with a honey glaze, he set aside a rabbit leg for his little female and stored the rest in the Storage Ring Si Shuo had replicated for him, planning to give them to her as snacks later.
Beast Cities were always built along rivers, so they traveled back to the city by running along the riverbank.
Zhi Le went to set some shrimp traps. The river here was wide and turbulent, home to a species of large shrimp. With few natural predators and an incredibly high reproduction rate, their population was practically exploding.
The heads of these shrimp were full of roe and tomalley, which his little female adored. Although the meat of the blue-clawed shrimp wasn’t as tender as that of ordinary river shrimp, there was simply so much of it. Taking big, hearty bites was incredibly satisfying!
After washing up, finishing her skincare routine, and applying sunscreen, Si Shuo tied her hair into a topknot and prettily adorned it with a sunflower.
She felt much more refreshed, and just then, breakfast was ready.
Si Shuo bought six and a half pounds of milk. Each of the Beast Husbands drank a pound, while she had half a pound.
Drinking milk was a good source of calcium, and the males, being highly active, especially needed to supplement their nutrition.
"When we get to Guangshou City, we should raise a lot of Fighting Horned Beasts and Curled Horned Sheep. That way we’ll have our own supply of meat and milk!" Si Shuo remarked with a sigh of contentment after eating her fill.
Providing forty to fifty coins’ worth of milk every day was becoming a bit of a strain on her resources.
Ji Liang smiled and said, "It’s fine if we can’t raise enough. I’ve already scouted out a good spot. When the time comes, I’ll bring Xu Chi along to get more milk and hunt some meat to stockpile in my space."
By using his Concealing Breath and Invisibility, Xu Chi could milk the animals and hunt for meat without startling the herds.
As it turned out, there were more solutions than problems; Si Shuo didn’t need to worry at all.
The party returning to the city consisted of Beast Soldiers and their families, along with some other Beastmen who were heading the same way.
They had a clear objective and traveled relentlessly, stopping only to rest at night. They ate just two meals a day—morning and evening—and the males’ ability to endure hunger and fatigue was on full display.
Their family, however, took advantage of Gong You’s mastery of the Time Law, stopping twice a day for proper meals at their usual times before catching up to the main party.
Si Shuo spent half her time sleeping. For the rest, she was carried in turns by her six Beast Husbands. What with the constant supply of snacks and her phone for games, novels, music, and movies, she wasn’t the least bit bored.
The Beast Soldiers were all strong and sturdy, with incredible speed and stamina. What they had expected to be a journey of over a month was cut down to just over twenty days.
When they were only half a day from their destination, the scouting Flying Beast Soldiers flew back to announce the news with excitement.
Si Shuo, caught up in the excitement, climbed onto Yin Jiang’s back to get a look at Guangshou City ahead of everyone else.
The sprawling Beast City was encircled by a mountain-like stone wall—three hundred feet thick and a hundred feet high—which had been formed and repeatedly reinforced by Earth Element Ability Users to defend against the surrounding Fierce Beasts.
However, the area outside Guangshou City had also been developed, with an alternating pattern of fields and residences.
"The Beast Soldiers of Guangshou City patrol around the clock, so there are very few High-level Fierce Beasts in the vicinity anymore. As a result, many Beastmen who can’t enter Guangshou City have settled outside the walls... Over time, the area of farmland and housing outside the city has grown to be nearly twice the size of Guangshou City itself..."
Yin Jiang explained to Si Shuo as he flew slowly.
They couldn’t fly into Guangshou City just yet, but even from a distance, they could see a stark contrast. Inside the city, the fields were meticulously tended, the houses were uniform and attractive, and the streets were wide and orderly, lined with bustling shops. People went about their work and daily lives in an organized fashion. Outside the city, however, the crops in the fields were sparse and of poor quality, the Beastmen were gaunt, and their faces bore the unmistakable signs of a life of hardship.
Si Shuo’s eyes shifted. She took out a piece of beast skin. "Yin Jiang, back in Puchang City, the City Lord gifted us two deeds. One is for a manor on the outskirts, and the other is for a two-story shop within the city."
"Should we go check out the manor?"
Yin Jiang tilted his head to glance at the beast skin. The information was quite detailed, including the manor’s exact location, layout, and size.
He flew toward the marked location. It was called a manor, but it was actually a three-hundred-square-meter row of seven rooms with a courtyard, surrounded by five acres of fields.
Only, the house was now occupied by a group of menacing-looking Beastmen, and the fields were already planted with crops.
Si Shuo tilted her head and tapped her hip. The next second, the air beside her shimmered, and Xiao Cheng appeared out of thin air!
"Si Shuo, you summoned me?" Xiao Cheng was overjoyed and immediately swept her into a bear hug.
Si Shuo chuckled and let him have his moment before explaining the situation. "Xiao Cheng, I need you to use your Transformation to become a young Beastman and go gather some information about this manor."
It wasn’t just Xiao Cheng; the other Beast Husbands also pretended to fall behind the main group and teleported over one by one.
Xu Chi raised an eyebrow. "A shuo, I’ll use my Invisibility to slip into the manor and see what I can find out."
Si Shuo nodded. "Be careful, Xu Chi."
Xu Chi smiled and ruffled her hair, then promptly activated his Invisibility and disappeared.
Xiao Cheng spun around, transforming into an adorable young man from the Rabbit Clan. To complete the look, he made it seem as if he had average talent and an incomplete Transformation, leaving him with a pair of light-gray rabbit ears.
Si Shuo found the sight so irresistible that she immediately pulled him into her arms and started playing with his ears.
Xiao Cheng let out a soft hiss, his face flushing red, but he let his little female have her fun. His voice was husky. "Please, stop touching them. Even though this is a Transformation, the ears feel real. I can’t take it..."
The more he begged, the more enthusiastically she played with them.
Xiao Cheng narrowed his eyes and silently chanted, ’Rebound.’ As expected, Si Shuo’s body went rigid as a tingling numbness spread through her.
She nearly let out a muffled groan and released him with an embarrassed smile.
Xiao Cheng wiggled his ears and chuckled. "So, you like this type, huh? You should’ve said so sooner! I’ll make sure that having me will be like having the entire Beast World Continent all to yourself!
Whatever kind of Beastman you like, I’ll become him for you..."
Si Shuo couldn’t stop her heart from fluttering at his words, but their little moment immediately earned them a volley of sharp glares.
"AHEM, we have business to attend to," Si Shuo said, quickly cutting him off and pushing him outward.
Once he was gone, Ji Liang hissed, "I’m starting to regret letting that guy join us. He slips in at every opportunity; it’s impossible to keep your guard up!"
’If their little female "gets to know" so many different kinds of Beastmen, will she still have a place in her heart for them?’
Zhi Le’s lip twitched. "Kitty, are you feeling wronged with just the few of us as your Beast Husbands? Why would adding one more be enough? You should get a dozen more, all with different Beast Forms."
Gong You chuckled softly. "My dear, I think Zhi Le is right. No matter how many times Xiao Cheng uses his Transformation, he’s still the same person underneath. How could the experience compare to being with someone genuinely different?"
Even Yin Jiang smiled. "And there are plenty of beautiful Flying Beasts, too. Like Swan Beastmen, Peacock Beastmen, White Crane Beastmen..."
