Beast World: A Fragile Beauty Blessed with Many Children-Chapter 135 - 134: Who Won?
Li Hui’s attention was completely captivated by the little creatures in the three golden cages. It wasn’t just her; all the little females in the area had gathered to see the excitement.
Si Shuo smiled and told Li Hui to open a cage. "They’ll give you a little nibble when they come out, just enough to draw a trace of blood. That’s how they bond with their master. Don’t be scared, and don’t pull away."
"Once they’ve absorbed your blood, they’ll only recognize you and your Beast Husbands."
"You should have your Beast Husbands feed them some Spiritual Power regularly. That way, they’ll grow bigger and stronger. While they aren’t very aggressive, their defensive abilities are quite good!"
Li Hui nodded repeatedly, took a deep breath, and offered her hand. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
The Clock Vine stopped its soft muttering, tilted its large flower head, and cautiously leaned forward. It let out a comically fierce CHOMP, scaring Li Hui so much she squeezed her eyes shut.
But the Clock Vine was tiny—its bark was worse than its bite. She only felt a faint sting.
After drinking a few drops of blood, the Clock Vine radiated a joyful aura that seemed to transfer to Li Hui. Soon, it was rubbing against her finger, wriggling back and forth.
’It figures these vine plants were all created by Si Shuo, a cat-type female who is naturally so affectionate. Each one is even more of a charmer than the last!’
The other little females couldn’t help but ooh and aah at the sight, staring eagerly at Si Shuo. They clearly wanted one too.
Just then, Ji Liang opened the Beast Skin Bag, pulling out handful after handful of golden cages and setting them on the stall.
"Hiss... One Level 6 Crystal Stone for one Spirit Plant. Please form a line to purchase."
Hearing this, the little females all turned to find their Beast Husbands and get them to line up.
As long as it wasn’t an excessive request, the Beast Husbands would almost always indulge whatever their little females wanted.
Si Shuo was also quite sly. She put on a show, taking out a Level 5 Crystal Stone and pretending to absorb its energy with one hand while creating a Spirit Plant with the other. In reality, with a flick of her wrist and under the cover of her own body, she used her personal storage space to swap the Level 5 Crystal Stone for a Second Level one.
This way, everyone would assume the Spirit Plants were created from Level 5 Crystal Stones, which made spending a Level 6 Crystal Stone much more palatable!
Besides, as Ji Liang had explained, the Spirit Plants could be nurtured with Spiritual Power. They were fun for the little females and could serve as both decoration and protection.
They were selling five types of Spirit Plants in total, and the males in line hardly bothered to choose, simply buying one of each.
Si Shuo couldn’t create Spirit Plants fast enough to meet the demand, so they decided to limit purchases. The females had to line up, and each person could only choose one type. To buy another, they had to get back in line. This prevented any scalping, and anyone who tried would have their purchasing rights revoked.
The females, with not much else to do, found the whole thing a novelty. They lined up, chatting with each other and debating which one to buy first.
However, Ji Liang was counting. Once the line reached a hundred people, he stopped letting others join. ’The family wasn’t that desperate for Crystal Stones. The little females could have their fun, but they couldn’t be allowed to get exhausted.’
The females who made it into the line were thrilled but also torn, since this meant they could only buy one type today. As for those who didn’t make the cut, they made their Beast Husbands promise to get up early tomorrow and save them a spot.
It had only been about an hour from setting up to packing up, and Si Shuo felt like she hadn’t had nearly enough fun.
Gong You smiled and gently flicked her forehead. "Silly girl, you can keep creating Spirit Plants when we get back, but you have to take a break after making thirty or fifty of them."
"We’ll set up the stall again tomorrow. With everyone waiting in line like this, you can’t just keep going without a rest, can you?"
Si Shuo knew he was right. She nodded obediently and, with a smile, held out her hands to him. "Gong You, I’m hungry!"
Her azure eyes rippled with amusement, like sunlight glittering on ocean waves—it was the color Gong You loved most.
Knowing his little female was craving small fish, Gong You scooped her into his arms. He let her twine her legs around his waist and, with a look of lazy satisfaction, began to feed her.
In the past, Si Shuo would have been too concerned with keeping up appearances to behave this way in front of others. But on the Beast World Continent, relationships between females and males were intimate, and this kind of embrace was commonplace.
’So she shamelessly adopted the local customs!’
These small fish from the deep sea were sweet, fragrant, and chewy—one of Si Shuo’s favorite snacks.
She turned her head and saw Xiao Cheng’s envious expression. She found it amusing but pretended not to notice, holding out one of the small fish. "Want a bite?"
Xiao Cheng smiled and leaned in for it, only to get a sharp rap on the head from Gong You. A red handprint bloomed on his fair forehead.
"Aren’t you something else, trying to steal a little female’s snack!" Gong You sneered.
Si Shuo bit her lip, obviously enjoying his misfortune.
Xiao Cheng didn’t get angry. He just looked at Si Shuo with a pitiful expression. "Sister, look! Brother Gong You is bullying me!"
Gong You’s lips twitched. "Who are you calling brother?"
"You’re older than me, so that makes you my brother, doesn’t it?" Xiao Cheng said with a grin.
Si Shuo popped the small fish into her mouth and said with a laugh, "Gong You prepared these specially for me, so he has the right to refuse you. I’m staying out of it."
’This is a struggle between the males,’ she thought, ’I’m not participating.’ Still, she glanced between the two of them. "So, about last night... who actually won?"
Xiao Cheng immediately went quiet. He looked at the sky, at the ground—anywhere but at her. Clearly, he hadn’t won. Otherwise, he’d be wagging his tail and showing off by now.
Gong You raised an eyebrow. "It was a draw."
’I’ve fought in many arenas,’ Gong You thought, ’and I can often fight opponents above my own level. For Xiao Cheng, a Twelfth Level who only just received his mark, awakened his superpower, and has been training in the Dongye Forest for less than ten days, to fight me to a draw... he really has some serious skill.’
But Xiao Cheng felt disgraced. ’I’m two levels higher than him and only managed a draw,’ he thought, beginning to doubt his own abilities. ’Am I really that weak?’
Si Shuo gasped. "You’re both incredible!"
Gong You smiled and nodded. "He does. He has a lot of potential. He was a bit flustered when we started sparring, but he’s a very fast learner. Before long, he could read and counter my moves. I haven’t had such a satisfying fight in a long time."
Xiao Cheng grumbled, "That’s because you were going easy on me. If you hadn’t, I probably would have lost right at the start."
"You just lack combat experience. I did hold back at first," Gong You said, his expression relaxed. "But you improved a lot. In fact, you pushed me right to the edge of a breakthrough. I expect I’ll level up in the next day or two."
’Gong You only leveled up last time because he took a Bone Marrow Cleansing and Vein Cutting Pill,’ Si Shuo thought. ’It’s only been a few months, and he’s about to advance again!’
Si Shuo was genuinely happy for him.
But Xiao Cheng grew sullen again at the thought of being used as a whetstone for Gong You’s advancement. ’This little female’s Beast Husbands can’t be judged like normal Beastmen,’ he lamented internally. ’Their Combat Power is just too monstrous. Fighting above their level is an everyday thing for them.’
’Looks like I still have a long way to go. At the very least, I have to protect the dignity that comes with being at the Twelfth Level.’
Back in their Beast Skin Bag, Si Shuo chatted with Yimei while creating more Spirit Plants.
Xiao Cheng stayed by her side, supplying the golden cages and keeping an eye on the time. Once she had created over thirty of the plants, he would tell her to get up and stretch her legs for a bit.
Zhi Le and Gong You now had a new schedule: two Beast Hours of training in the morning, followed by a two-Beast Hour patrol in the afternoon or evening.
Ji Liang lazed nearby in the sun, occasionally cracking an eye open to peek at his little female. He didn’t interfere with Xiao Cheng cozying up to her and trying to build a bond.
This was, in a way, an early adjustment period for them all to get used to each other.
