Chapter 252: Chapter : 252 : Mana Measurements!

Professor Elowen Voss said, smiling cockily, "But before we start our mana evaluation, we have something prepared for you."

Both Elowen and Mira raised their hands in unison and—

Stone tiles melted into darkness beneath their feet, yet they did not fall. The sky above cracked like glass and peeled away, revealing a vast, endless night stretching in every direction. Stars shimmered unnaturally close—too bright, too large—constellations shifting slowly as if alive. Silver rivers of light flowed between them like veins across the heavens. Then the air stirred.

Fireworks bloomed without sound.

Not ordinary sparks—but spirals of arcane flame twisting into sigils midair, runes igniting in layered geometries before collapsing into drifting motes. Nebula-like clouds rolled across the horizon in luminous blues and violent purples. From somewhere unseen, distant bells chimed.

A ripple passed through space.

Creatures—translucent and elongated, like living threads of starlight—ran across invisible pathways overhead. Some resembled wolves made of constellations. Others were serpentine, folding in and out of reality as if slipping between dimensions. One enormous shape—vast as a mountain—moved behind the stars themselves, its silhouette only visible when entire clusters dimmed around it.

Beneath the students’ feet, circular platforms of light formed—each glowing with intricate fractal patterns that pulsed faintly with their presence. The air grew heavy—not with pressure, but with awareness. Mana currents became visible: flowing streams of pale light weaving between bodies, reacting subtly to emotion, fear, confidence, ambition.

Illusions of floating mirrors drifted slowly around the arena, each reflecting not appearances—but a flicker of something deeper. For a heartbeat at a time, one could glimpse distorted echoes of themselves—brighter, darker, stronger, broken.

Above, a ring of ancient glyphs ignited and began rotating slowly around the entire night-sky dome. Every symbol shimmered differently depending on who stood beneath it.

The stars shifted again.

And the mana streams around every student brightened.

Aiden blinked hard, gripping Luna’s hand instinctively. "Holy shit... the ground just vanished."

Luna gasped, pressing tighter against him, eyes huge. "Master... the sky broke open like glass! Everything’s so dark and sparkly now... those silver rivers flowing everywhere... it’s so pretty I can’t breathe!"

Thristle spun in place on her platform, violet hair flying. "Whoa whoa whoa! This is the coolest thing ever!"

Nyxion’s tail shot straight up, fluffy and puffed. "Eek! Look at those wolf-things made of stars running around! So sparkly and cute!"

Lysandra clutched her chest, voice soft and awed. "Oh my... the bells are singing from nowhere."

Arisha stared straight up, mouth slightly open. "This place is wild and gorgeous!"

Vegia squeaked, hiding half her face behind her hands but peeking through fingers. "S-so many colors... it’s like a dream sky... really really pretty..."

Nayla bounced on her toes, grinning ear to ear. "The air feels alive! Those snake-things sliding in and out—poof! Gone! Poof! Back! And that giant shadow behind the stars—huge and spooky-cute! I love this!"

Valeforia tilted her head, tattoos catching starlight. "Beautiful."

Selvara spread her wings just a little, letting starlight dance across the feathers. "This is breathtaking."

Xylendra’s voice came out hushed, almost reverent. "It’s like the night is painting itself just for us. So delicate and huge."

Zerra clapped her hands, jumping lightly. "Yay! Everything sparkly! I wanna live here!"

Venya’s crimson eyes glowed brighter than usual. "Venya is happy."

Aethoniel squeaked and buried her face in Aiden’s chest for a second, then peeked out. "H-Husband... The colors are so soft and pretty..."

Liana spun toward Aiden’s group, eyes shining like the nebulae. "Guys—did the floor just eat itself?! We’re on glowing platforms now! Look at the sky! Those silver rivers are gorgeous."

Aiden laughed under his breath. "Yeah, Liana. The whole world’s upside down and sparkly. Those starlight wolves running overhead—insane. Pretty insane."

Liana clapped once. "This is ridiculous—ridiculously gorgeous!"

---

On the noble side, Elarion and Elara stood hand-in-hand, fingers laced, bodies close enough that her breast pressed into his arm. Both smiled—soft, intimate smiles that looked far more like lovers than siblings.

Elarion squeezed her hand gently. "Look at that, dear sister... the sky just opened for us. Stars so close I could pluck one for your hair."

Elara leaned her head against his shoulder, voice a warm purr. "Mmm... the silver rivers flowing... like the light inside you when you touch me. Beautiful, Brother."

Elarion’s thumb stroked her knuckles. "Those fireworks twisting into runes... silent and perfect. Just like our nights."

Elara giggled softly. "The nebula clouds—purple like the marks you leave on my thighs sometimes. Violent and lovely."

Elarion nodded. "The wolves of stars. Reminds me of you when you’re wild."

Elara nuzzled closer. "And the big shadow watching... mysterious and strong... like you. This place is showing us how perfect we are together."

Ela Voss clasped her hands under her chin, voice quiet but full of wonder. "This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen..."

Aiden glanced over, smirking. "Even the Voss family looks impressed. Cute."

Liana turned back to Aiden. "Ready for the tests now? This field’s got me buzzing!"

Aiden grinned. "Hell yeah."

Every student let out a collective gasp as the Astral Calibration Field’s wonders reached their peak—the stars blazing brightest, mana streams flaring like living auroras—then the entire vision began to dissolve.

The endless night folded inward like collapsing silk. Nebula clouds spiraled into wisps and vanished. Constellation wolves howled silently one last time before fading to sparks. The mountain-sized silhouette blinked once—two enormous, unseen eyes—then melted away. Glyphs spun faster, blurred into streaks of silver, and winked out. Floating mirrors shattered into harmless motes of light that rained down and disappeared before touching skin.

The heavy awareness in the air lifted.

Platforms of fractal light dimmed, sank, and reformed into solid marble beneath their feet.

When the last shimmer faded, the courtyard was gone.

They stood inside a vast, echoing hall of polished obsidian and white-veined marble. Towering columns rose into shadowed heights, each carved with faint, glowing runes that pulsed like slow heartbeats. Golden chandeliers floated overhead without chains, shedding warm amber light. The air smelled faintly of ozone and old parchment—clean, ancient, expectant.

Directly ahead, on a raised circular platform of black stone, stood an enormous stone vulture head—easily five feet tall from beak to crown. Its beak was hooked and severe, eyes carved as empty sockets that somehow still managed to look amused. Perched atop its bald, wrinkled scalp sat a fist-sized crystal ball the color of moonlit ice, fused seamlessly into the stone as though it had grown there. Faint blue veins ran through the crystal, pulsing lazily.

Professor Elowen Voss stepped forward onto the platform, her golden hair catching the chandelier light, massive breasts straining her sheer black top as she smiled with that signature cocky curl of crimson lips.

"He will be the one to measure your mana," she announced, gesturing grandly at the vulture head.

The crystal ball flared once—bright, amused blue.

Then the vulture head spoke.

Its voice was cartoonishly high-pitched, nasal, and dripping with exaggerated cheer—like a mischievous uncle who’d had too much wine at a family gathering.

"Gentle Men and Gentle Creatures (girls)! My name is Ricor De Lano. It’s a pleasure—a delicious, spine-tingling pleasure—to meet this year’s fresh young students!"

A ripple of surprised laughter and murmurs ran through the crowd. Several commoners snorted; a few nobles raised eyebrows in disdain.

Ricor’s empty eye sockets somehow twinkled.

"Oh yes, yes, laugh! I do love a good chuckle before we get to the serious business of peeling back your delicious little mana souls! Hee-hee!"

Professor Mira Hale stepped up beside Elowen, her warm hazel eyes crinkling with genuine amusement as she addressed the hall in her calm, approachable tone.

"Sir Lano will call you one by one according to his choice. When your name is called, please step forward to the platform, place your hand on the crystal ball fused to his head, and hold it there until he finishes his evaluation. He will announce your mana purity, capacity, and primary affinity aloud for the records. No need to be nervous—he’s quite gentle... in his own way."

Ricor bobbed his massive stone head slightly—somehow managing to look like he was winking despite having no eyelids.

"Gentle? Oh, pish-posh! I’m positively cuddly! Unless your mana is boring—then I might yawn dramatically and make rude snoring noises. But fear not! Most of you will be delightfully spicy, I can already taste it!"

Aiden stood, arms crossed, one eyebrow raised as he stared up at the talking vulture statue.

Luna pressed close to his side, still flushed from the earlier public orgasm, whispering hotly against his ear. "Master... a giant vulture head with a crystal ball on its skull? And it talks like that? This school is weird."

Thristle snickered, wiping a stray tear of laughter from her eye. "I love him already."

Nyxion’s tail swished excitedly. "He called us delicious. I don’t like being called delicious except Heart Lord."

Lysandra covered her mouth to hide a giggle. "He’s... weird. But kind of charming?"

Arisha flexed her shoulders, smirking. "If he yawns at me, I’m punching his beak."
