Beast-Tamer: Limitless Evolution-Chapter 221: Domination
Domination
"Team C has lost contact."
"What?! What happened?!"
"I’m not sure. One moment, the team leader was speaking to me, and then the connection was severed. I... I think they’ve been intercepted."
"Dammit... But who could have done this? Is... is the Citadel Lord perhaps unto us?"
News of the group Ellie and co engaged with losing connection quickly spread among the terrorists lying in wait, and their reactions were all varied, but similarly negative.
"It’s fine." A voice suddenly spoke through the shared communication channel they used.
"While it’s unfortunate, their presence alone won’t change much in the grand scheme of things. It will just make the upcoming task a bit more tedious." The one in charge of this operation spoke, his voice calm.
"Still, extra precautions will be made. It’s safe to assume that the Citadel Lord knows, or at least has an idea of what is going on. Prepare your amulets." Hearing this, a collective chill went through each member, but they still obeyed.
As each of them brought out a strange black amulet, someone suddenly spoke through the channel.
"Hey... Is such weather normal in a place like this?" At this, all of them looked up.
"It can rain in places like this, yeah, but it’s a bit early for that..."
"YOU IDIOTS! THIS ISN’T A NATURAL WEATHER PHENOMENON! TAKE COVER!!"
Along with the roar, mayhem erupted.
Several thick bolts of lightning suddenly descended and peppered the large area along with dozens of thick twisters that generated from the utterly massive funnel of dark clouds high in the sky.
The ground was instantly torn up and shredded by the attacks, and the terrorists scrambled to defend themselves from the onslaught, but it was hardly enough, as from the initial assault, numerous were caught and killed in mere moments.
Osho saw this from Gale’s back with an unreadable expression.
He watched as they scrambled to defend themselves, and he felt nothing but coldness in his heart.
’You guys wanted to ambush us, eh? Let’s show you how it feels.’ He thought as he snapped his fingers.
"Bedrock." Immediately, his beast space opened, and without another word, the large Gorilla appeared and dropped down.
As he fell, his unique amalgamation of ores appeared around him and forked his armor. But that wasn’t all.
He kept pumping out more and more, and the terrorists watched with horror as a giant colossus created from a unique material descended like a titan from the heavens.
Its feet smashed into the ground, and a powerful gust of wind whipped about from the point of contact.
OOOOOOH
The colossus seemed to bellow as it straightened, towering 500 meters in height.
But Bedrock wasn’t done.
From where his feet touched the ground, the colossus melded with the earth up unto its torso, then, the surrounding earth rippled, and then, the entire landscape started to change.
Earthen constructs emerged. Golems, hounds, giants, and much more.
Moreover, the ground around each terrorists was actively hostile, as spikes and tendrils of earth would constantly appear beneath them. Pits would suddenly open up, large slabs of stone would try to flatten them. It looks like pure chaos.
If anyone were to look at this scene from a distance, they would be appalled. Dozens of tornadoes and lightning bolts moved in tandem with a giant colossus that seemed to make the earth alive as both simultaneously struck at their enemies.
It was devastating.
However, while they had been caught off guard by the sudden attack and lost a few members, the terrorists quickly regained their bearings.
Soon, they started working together properly and began to defend themselves from the ceaseless onslaught.
At the same time, 5 figures suddenly shot up from the ground. Two of them went towards the colossus while three went into the sky, towards Osho and Gale.
’Their leaders.’ Osho thought as the aura of three Elite rank beast tamers blared.
Gale slowed down his flight and simply hovered. He didn’t need to maintain his speed to keep the attack going.
At the same time, three figures appeared around Psho and Gale.
A creature resembling a manticore, a bald eagle, and a large bat could be seen with their tamers on them.
"... How did you discover our plan?" One of them asked warily.
"Well, wouldn’t you like to know?" Osho scoffed. "You underestimate the resources of Stellaris." He said.
Of course, he wouldn’t tell them that their ploy had been discovered purely by chance.
"... I see. It appeared we underestimated that institution." Another one said.
"We have been instructed not to kill you. Your importance is too high."
"But if you get in our way, we will not be polite."
Hearing the last part, Osho tilted his head.
"Interesting..." Then Gale spoke.
"You lot seem to genuinely think that you can do anything about it."
Then, Osho sent Gale a command.
As stated numerous times before, Gale’s domain is quite literally his own personal sky that he has complete dominion over.
With it, he can do a myriad of incredible things. But there is one thing that he scarcely does. Not because it’s too hard, but because the situation hardly ever called for it.
And that’s break it.
’Fracture.’ As soon as he gave the command, the invisible domain shuddered.
Then, it shattered.
For those within the domain, it looked like someone had cracked a mirror, and everything suddenly looked... wrong.
ROAR!!
The manticore let out a roar of agony as one of these cracks went straight through it, and its tamer as well as the other two watched in shock as its entire lower half was severed from the crack.
However, they didn’t have time to worry about it as these cracks chased after them as well, and they had to evade.
But Gale didn’t just watch.
There was a flash, and the eagle let out a pained screech as its wings were torn off, acrid black blood spraying from the wounds.
A moment later, several cracks struck it, and its body was utterly shredded apart along with the tamer on its back.
This left the bat, which tried to retaliate by letting out a sonic screech.
But Gale simply swiped with his wing, and the attack was cut clean through.
His body them melded with his domain briefly, and when he reappeared, he was behind the bat, it’s heart grasped firmly in his talons.
With one last pained wail, it fell before getting shredded by the fractures.
The manticore was also killed shortly after.
’Well, that was disappointing.’ Gale huffed. He’d been expecting a bit more of a challenge. After all, he could tell that these creatures were stronger than the Skyblight Harbinger by a decent bit, but they couldn’t even resist his attacks.
’I’m inclined to agree, but something tells me that things are about to get a bit more hectic.’ As soon as Osho voiced his opinion, something happened below.
First of all, Bedrock crushed the two Elites coming after him into a bloody pulp along with their beasts.
Secondly, the remaining terrorists seemed to realize that their situation was becoming quite dire, so they made a decision.
Each of them crushed the amulets in their hands almost simultaneously, and as soon as they did, they each let out shrieks of pain as black mist was ripped out of their bodies, and each of them simultaneously became shriveled up husks.
Their beasts weren’t spared, either.
At the same time, a magic circle appeared in the sky, below Osho and Gale, but higher than Bedrock.
As soon as it appeared, the entire area suddenly lost its luster as corrupt Mana filled the surroundings, and Osho frowned.
’A summoning? No, more like another amalgamation. These lunatics... What did they-’
’It’s another amalgamation. It’s a sentient creature made of pure Corrupt Mana. It won’t last very long, though. It was probably some sort of trump card they intended to use to kill William in case all else failed.’ Gale explained as he stared at the scene with a strange detachment.
’How lame.’
’Agreed.’ Osho nodded. It could all be boiled down to being lame as hell.
At that moment, a creature started to emerge from the circle.
When Osho saw what it was, he couldn’t help but gasp. Not in fear, but surprise.
’I never thought I’d see one in person.’ He thought as the form of the creature was revealed.
It was bipedal and had a black, emaciated body. Its limbs were long, and its arms ended in long, blade like fingers.
On its head was a deer-like skull that brimmed with malevolence.
A wendigo.
As soon as it touched the ground, the earth started to turn dark and brittle.
It raised its head, and then it roared.
Its roar was filled with Corrupt Mana, and the surroundings began to destabilize. Space started to warp, and the air started to get stripped away.
Not that Osho or his beasts cared.
Before it could make a move, a massive fist crashed into it and sent it flying like a broken kite.
’Why would it just leave itself open like that?’ Bedrock spoke through their bond, slightly perplexed.
’It’s probably just dumb.’ Osho shrugged.
