Chapter 719: 702. Two Troubles

"If we let this elderly Molten Mountain Dragon successfully enter the Earth Vein Corridor, then the energy it releases upon death will be transmitted throughout the entire new continent via the corridor!"

The entrance of three people and a cat didn’t seem to interrupt the speaking of the middle-aged Dragon-man.

He simply frowned, nodded at the trio and the cat, and continued to seriously express his point of view to the Commander-in-Chief.

"Uh..." Lann’s gaze wandered, "Your topic seems a bit serious, do we need to avoid it?"

The Commander-in-Chief crossed his arms and shook his head.

"No need, although the information is serious, if we are to engage in battle, it’s better to ensure every investigation team member is clear about it."

"Your return is timely. In the struggle with nature, humans must unite."

The Demon Hunter shrugged awkwardly: "Anyway, you’re the Commander-in-Chief, it’s your call."

The mindset of beings from another world is slightly different, and this is something everyone in the investigation team has long accepted.

Therefore, Lann’s words didn’t attract much attention.

And seeing the Commander-in-Chief finish handling internal affairs, the Insect Manipulation Stick User of the Dragon-man Race spoke again.

"If this elderly Molten Mountain Dragon, which has accumulated a lifetime of flame energy, transmits it through the Earth Vein Corridor to the entire new continent upon death, according to my calculations... the entire surface will turn into a sea of fire!"

"Wait!" Aiden interjected, his face openly surprised. "Did I hear wrong?"

"You mentioned ’Molten Mountain Dragon’s energy transmitted through the Earth Vein Corridor,’ not ’Molten Mountain Dragon igniting the corridor with its death’... My understanding is that [Earth Vein Corridor] should be an energy circulation channel beneath the new continent?"

"Are you implying that just the potential power of one ancient dragon like Molten Mountain Dragon can set the entire new continent ablaze?"

In response to Aiden’s astonished query, Dragon-man Hunter Guy gave a serious confirmation.

"Although it might sound sensational, that’s exactly what I mean."

"Ancient dragons are creatures beyond imagination, and the differences among them are equally unimaginable. Molten Mountain Dragon is a species particularly adept at accumulating energy, within its volcano-like body, perhaps a few strikes with a mining pick could unearth several [Molten Mountain Dragon Gemstones]."

"Ancient dragon gemstones, these precious organs, are estimated to be many times more numerous in its body than all our investigation team members combined, and they’re all highly dense energy."

"You’re still young, kid. You haven’t yet seen those truly terrifying creatures in this world, so you doubt their power."

"But I’ve been studying ancient dragons as a Dragon-man for almost a century, and even if the statement that Molten Mountain Dragon’s energy explosion will turn the new continent into a sea of fire might be exaggerated, even saying it conservatively, its energy can raise the soil temperature of the new continent by over twenty degrees!"

"If the soil temperature rises over twenty degrees, then ninety percent of the plants on the surface will be roasted to death, and the ecological crisis it would cause wouldn’t be much different from a great fire sweeping the new continent."

The rise in soil temperature is not the same concept as changes in air temperature with winter and summer.

Air temperatures can vary over forty degrees between winter and summer, but because the roots of plants are in the soil, and the insulation properties far exceed that of air, plants can endure the seasonal changes.

But if even the deep soil temperature increases by over twenty degrees... and this is speaking about Molten Mountain Dragon’s energy at its minimum.

’Snap’, Wende held Aiden’s shoulder armor from beside him and shook his head at his incredulity.

"Uncle Guy is right, those truly terrifying creatures in this world, they possess such power."

"No matter how humans doubt, unable to believe, those powers will still dwell on their masters, growing stronger by the day."

At this point, Aiden had actually come to terms with reality. It’s just that the sudden forced expansion of his worldview made him a little dizzy.

"Alright... after all, I’m just an elite hunter in a guild." His lips twitched as he muttered. "The world of you guild aces and bigshots really feels unfamiliar to me."

"So, does it mean we now have two problems at once?"

Amidst everyone’s contemplation, Lann suddenly sighed.

"Hmm?" The Commander-in-Chief looked up at him, "Two problems? Haven’t you returned safely, is there an additional discovery?"

As a retired Old Hunter, the Commander-in-Chief immediately understood the intentions of the three coming to see him.

Lann took out a still tender oak twig from his alchemy pouch at his back waist and placed it on the table.

"Biological invasion, came from my side."

Lann calmly explained the concept of Chaos Magic Power and the magical world’s monsters.

As well as how they pulled out this branch along with its ancient dragon gemstone from the gap in the Extinct Dragon’s chest.

"You mean the owner of this branch almost cut out the Extinct Dragon’s gemstone from its body?"

Now not only was the Commander-in-Chief puzzled, but even the Dragon-man Hunter beside him was bewildered.

"Why would it do that?"

The gemstone in the monster’s body is precious material to humans.

But that’s because intelligent beings, through intellect and exploration spirit across generations, finally acquired the knowledge to utilize such material.

To natural monsters, these are merely stones.

Hunters have never seen a monster deliberately deprive another monster of its gemstone.

To monsters, other creatures’ flesh should be more attractive than gemstones, since flesh is food, whereas stones can’t fill a stomach.

"The monsters where I’m from and yours here..." Lann embarrassingly scratched his head, "are somewhat different." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Monsters in the magical world, besides those of lower levels, most high-level monsters inherently possess magic abilities, or are born knowing certain magical rituals.

This knowledge and skills are passed within their species.

Some are even too profound for seasoned Great Mages and Druids to explain.

"If I’m judging correctly, then the monster roaming over from my side might have magic capabilities far exceeding mine."

Lann said helplessly.

"It might indeed have the ability to utilize the gemstone’s power."

"You said you already have a judgment on the species of the invading monster." The Commander-in-Chief said calmly."Share it with us."

Lann’s brows furrowed slightly, revealing a hint of annoyance when facing a troublesome opponent.

"Over there, we call it the Deer-head Spirit. And I believe, this one that wandered over is a very, very ancient evil force."
