Barbaric Spouse, Descry the Night's Lure-Chapter 26: Scene XXVI
Invasion of doubt was a given.
A woman who went against him with unwavering rage in her eyes, telling her discontent, glaring strongly as she pushed him away, was not one who would ask such company from her spouse so promptly. Her despise at the time was clear for the man to see and understand the rarity this light meant.
Aslak’s hand held the knob hesitant, keeping sight of the undulating rays that did not lose intensity. Solely enhancing his doubt at the truth of his sights.
Nevertheless... Clack... His hand moved. Opening the gate while his steps also resounded as he entered the Marital Chambers.
’... She’s not here...’
The eyes of his, similar to the amber shade of the gem, flashed through his surroundings, empty of her silhouette. Growing more displeased at her clear absence in an odourless room.
Naturally, from his spot the place he was to watch changed.
It was now the woman’s door he watched intensely. Because suddenly, shining with a brighter light than his, a precious tawny shade emerged from the gemstone.
’..... Will she come?’
Aslak scrutinised from the distance the sight of waving rays in the dim room that would soon feel the fall of dusk.
He stood in ponder at the still gate, eventually lowering his lids to glance at the door he had crossed heeding by its call.
"..?"
His head flashed to lay on the woman’s in surprise. Because the light in his door had vanished its vivid manifestation, and only the woman’s remained evocative at the other side.
"....."
Blankly at the scene he merely closed the distance, repeating the stages he had gone through to arrive in the room where the woman was missing.
’Is it that...... Am I supposed to go into her private stances?’ — He asked himself.
Not taking the time to consider the answer to such possibility. For the gate opened with too much easiness for him to even notice it was his own hand that unlocked it.
Sounds of moving water reached him instantly, causing his hand to pull aside the curtain covering her door. Finally finding the woman, soaking her body in a small bathtub he could never fit in.
"...!? Hus– What are you doing here?!"
The relaxed woman straightened in surprise at the man’s presence, when, in the calmness of her bath, her neck stretched backwards trying to feel the nice water cleaning her.
Slight blush invaded her fair skin once realising his calm stare, which observed the wet strands of her beautiful curls, allowing tiny drops of gleaming water to fall on her shy shoulders.
"... I was called by your door."
"That cannot be. I am sure of what I told you and I will say it again. I don’t want to see you."
From her spot, Ewelina growled, covering herself inside the wooden tub with cautious limbs.
"Hm. Then why was your gem luring me here?"
"... Turn around."
Her sudden order made his brow lift, confused by the unexpected response to his question.
"... I don’t want you to see me naked. Turn around so we can talk properly."
"I don’t see the point–"
"I do. Turn or leave."
"Ha... I can’t believe this woman." — Grumbling as he slowly turned on his feet, Aslak sighed. Regretting his curiosity.
"....."
Seeing the man turn his back on her as she requested, dripping sounds followed as Ewelina stood from the tub. Rising vigilant. Making sure that the man was not peeking at her nudity.
Nonetheless, he had eyes... And she had reflective surfaces in her bedroom.
Intending not to watch he had done as requested, yet the sound of the water falling from her body opened his lids. Provoking their roll in discount and finding the sight of a plate-sized surface, where her figure was reflected too clearly for him to look away as she briefly dried herself.
The back of the woman was of clean sparkling skin thanks to the liquid soaking her. With curves he had not stopped to appreciate in either of their counted encounters. And now, by the reflex of the plate, he could witness with no other choice.
Naturally, his eyes went from her curls down her spine. Arriving at the waist crowning those hips giving start to that gap he had entered... And moved through it twice.
Only once the woman bent to reach the gown she would cover in, Aslak retrieved his gaze from the mirror grasping more of his forearms, further with nervous fingers, as a swallow dragged his mouth’s moisture down his dry throat.
"... Am I to face you any soon, woman?" — He asked, feigning not to know she was about to finish.
"..... You can now."
Tying her long silk, Ewelina reluctantly permitted the sly man to look in her direction. And he took a moment to do so. Solely to meet her eyes and surveil the covered skin calmly, before resuming their exchange. — "So. Your door called me. That’s why I am here... Wife."
"I did not call for you."
"The gemstone beamed. Hence, you did."
Ewelina peeked at the common door behind him, seeing no light coming from the gemstone.
"... I do not believe your words."
"I have no reason to lie."
"... Then it is broken. Now that we learned of this, go back. As I said, I do not want to see you."
"Why?"
His question halted her steps once giving her back to the man.
The mere inquiry infuriated Ewelina further. Causing a revived anger to show in her youthful visage, and in the stomps of her bare feet wanting to face the shameless man from close this time.
"Why, you ask? Was I not clear this morning, Beast of a Husband? Is it that you don’t even want to bother listening to a useless pigeon?"
"... I heard you clearly this morning."
"Then that is why."
"What I am asking is why that upsets you. Since it’s a lie I paid so little for you."
"..... Even if that’s the case... I was still bought. Like a measly object, I am not. And to top it off..... Because no other noble household accepted to sell their family aside from mine."
"... That is not my fault."
"... Inconsiderate man you are."
"And you. You don’t speak clearly, Woman."
The two were glaring at each other now. One looking down at the other as they tilted their head to hold the man’s glower with narrow eyes.
"You said... I cannot even stay by your side after ferociously penetrating and inseminating you..."
"..."
The repetition of her own words made her flinch in recoil. Averting her eyes for a moment at the paced tone the man used.
"That you are no toy to fuck and leave."
"... Yes... That is what I said." — Slightly ashamed of her choice of words, Ewelina attempted to remain composed even though his ways were too ruthless.
"..... I have been bothered by that."
"Hah... Bothered?" — In disbelief, she widened her eyes to stare at the man.
"Yes."
"..."
Speechless Ewelina stopped to observe his seriousness as no words occurred to her to retort such a flagrant statement.
"Woman."
Nevertheless, not giving her the time to find such words, Aslak continued, ignoring the conflict in her expression.
"Am I to understand that I am to also sleep in the same mattress with you? Staying is permitted?"
The hardness of her pupils softened in surprise at such unbelievable question. Almost causing her stammer once understanding the truth such inquire brought along.
