Barbaric Spouse, Descry the Night's Lure-Chapter 235: Scene CCXXXV
As she rushed, those entangled in battle were able to notice the child’s presence and the Guard Ewelina had placed her trust to lead the men opened his eyes widely to what his eye caught. Roaring as he knocked an enemy out of his sight once he saw the girl run in the middle of the confrontation.
“FUCKING KID GET YOUR ARSE OUT!!”
“Hiiic!! Oh no! Nu will be reprimanded!!”
“Woman! Get the kid!!” — Enraged, Gilead told Kelly who he knew was properly hiding so she wouldn’t become a hindrance in the battle.
And even if fearful and starved, Kelly sneaked behind to follow the girl. Standing in Nu’s path once reaching her where no danger incurred.
“Child, you should not be here. I am taking you back to the campsite. Come.”
“Don’t come close to Nu.” — Threatening, the girl who frowned whenever seeing Kelly glared as she tried to approach her. Becoming displeased as she recalled how her presence unsettled her loved Master’s wife. — “Nu knows you are bad... Master’s wife saddens whenever you come to sight.”
“... Nevertheless, your Master’s wife’s orders were for you to remain at the campsite. If you don’t want myself to come then go obediently by yourself.”
“You’re bad...” — More displeased, feeling doubtful at the indifference with which the woman talked, Nu started to grow rage. For although Kelly ignored Ewelina’s current danger, the child believed her presence was aiding the harm to reach her Master’s wife. — “You tell Nu to leave her Master’s wife so harm will hurt her again... You like Nu’s Master’s suffering.”
“... What is this child saying...”
“Nu is not going to the campsite!!” — With her yell some of Kelly’s interiors were squeezed stopping before exploding, twisting her in pain as the child rushed beside her yet noticing how from the other side the girl was going, few men appeared, going behind her as the concerned child only tried to concentrate on the shivers she could still feel of her Master’s wife.
“! kh...fh... nh... th-...they-... Fh- child...!”
“?? That woman still moves?” — Nu halted as she heard the woman’s hurt croak. Finding sight of those coming for her, hearing once more Kelly’s cry... while she easily took care of the men steps away with a simple clack of her teeth.
“!..! CarEfuL! Gh!”
“...” — Nu who had stopped moving, stared at the woman that tried to stand when impossible. Noticing how the shivers of her Master’s wife changed... instinctively learning that danger subsided as the savage accompanying her was recognised by her ability. Hence, she continued to watch Kelly’s struggle, ultimately deciding to go back to where she suffered.
“Hf ngh... careful... fh... careful...” — The woman, blinded by the pain repeated even if aware there was no danger for the child. And Nu cautiously came to her side, tilting her head trying to see her face that without force looked downwards no matter how hard she tried to lift it.
“... You should be careful, not Nu.”
“..fh... hf... ah..... haha...”
“Not eating is bad. Nu knows... You don’t eat.”
Talking matters unrelated to the circumstances, the child came before the woman to curiously look at her struggle. Ultimately letting herself fall to the ground, as no reason there was for her to force the nonexistent energy out of her being... and decided to embrace the pain while answering the carefree brakian mainglousse.
“...ha... Indeed..... I do not eat... for as you said...... ngh ugh... I’ve... I’ve been bad...”
“... Because you’ve been bad?”
“hf... yes... to your Master..... I’ve... I’ve been bad...”
“... Nu should kill you. Nu doesn’t like people being bad to Nu’s Masters.” — Pouting as she sat beside the woman the brakian mainglousse said sincerely with crossed arms. Receiving the answer Kelly did not hesitate giving.
“It is fine to die... solely... If you are to kill myself... do so once Ewelina listens to my apology... She shouldn’t forgive me... yet I want her to know I am regretting the harm I did to her...”
The child who blankly listened also watched how tears fell from the woman who luckily would survive the pain, taking the time to ponder in the sensations Kelly’s inner shivers conveyed.
“... What’s your name, woman? Nu wants to know.”
“..... Kelly...”
“Ngh~ Nu doesn’t like Kelly’s name either~...” — Troubled the child grumped tilting her head while the woman chuckled to her sayings. — “Yet... Why is it that Kelly harmed Nu’s Master’s wife? Kelly is fond of Master’s wife. Now Nu can feel it. Kelly’s tears are for missing Master’s wife.”
“..... I don’t know child...”
“?? Kelly doesn’t know??? How can Kelly not know??”
“... For I am weak and dumb... That is how... That is why I aided to harm who I was fond of... Why I punish myself out of the guilt it brings...”
The child once again stared at the woman’s tears fall as if disinterested, for in her young self the complicated reasons Kelly found comfort in made no sense nor could she understand the logic Kelly possessed as a grown-up. Hence, bright in mood unlike that one that regretted her past, Nu came closer, smiling down at Kelly while patting her head, roughly like at times the guards of the Jazhara’s Tail would to the girl.
“It’s alright. What Kelly says Nu doesn’t understand it well, however, if Master’s wife wants Kelly to die, Nu will kill you quickly.”
“..... How terrifying a comfort to give, child...”
“Does Kelly hate it? Nu is an honest child.”
“... No... it is oddly relieving to hear... Thank you, haha.” — Taking a moment to gather her thoughts properly, Kelly mumbled finally laughing. The noise in the Hall continued still in the background of their quiet, and so, the child then sat back, looking around and thinking of other ideas.
“Kelly said to go to the campsite, yet Master’s wife is about to come here... Does Kelly think that Master’s wife will reprimand Nu?”
“... I wonder... For a child to be here is unthought of... yet Nu appears to be quite... er...”
“Nu is special, hehe~”
“Uhm yes...”
“Nu made your insides tighten. Did Kelly know?”
“... I could get the gist...”
Making little talk with the exhausted woman, the girl waited for the Master who was soon to come to the Hall she had abandoned to go in her aid.
