Barbaric Spouse, Descry the Night's Lure-Chapter 205: Scene CCV
Experiencing a brief and yet intense pang where her hand had intentionally cut her limb, aiming for this awakening to not occur, her lids then tightened to aid the tears fall speedy. Swallowing dryly to continue mumbling as the twinge was embraced by her soul. — “Cursed beast... not even death you allow me... despicable being you are...”
“..... Aie, aie... How dreadful. At your words I suppose I did well telling Myrkzver to get out.” — Then, from a place she had not caught a glimpse of her presence, Vinka said nonchalantly while playing with a round adornment. Leaving it back where it belonged to go check from up close on the ailing Archduchess. — “How are ya? Bet tha cut’s bothersome ain’t it?”
“..... Was it you who treated the wound?”
“Ou. Got here on time. Ya bled a lot for being small, Ewelina.”
“... You should’ve let me die, Vinka.”
“..... Guess it was the earth’s wish for me to do otherwise.” — As if paying no mind to the words of the woman, Vinka took her wounded limb, forcefully and purposely making it hurt to get some energetic reaction from the wife... yet receiving none besides her cold silence. — “It’s still clean, thought it could’ve opened since you moved.”
“...”
“Seems like you’re doing good. I’ll be leaving ya for today. They have what they call a physician here. Said he’ll come once back at the palace.”
“... It’s not necessary.”
“... a’ight.” — Vinka answered not truly agreeing to her order, walking away as she had decided to do once the Archduchess’ consciousness was regained. And yet, it was the very Ewelina who interrupted her leave for a second, stopping her from quickly departing like this, for even if dull and forceless, appreciation wanted to be given to the savage that had no fault in her disgrace.
“... Vinka... blessed thee earth... for your care and not inquiring further...”
“...”
The back of a slim Ewelina looked far more helpless than a defeated enemy, and in her wild kindness, the barbaric woman remained severe as Ewelina’s mood demanded, nodding in reply even as it was not to be seen by the wife of her leader and giving heartfelt words to one who was a woman like herself.
“... Shall your core and bleeding heart cease to ache, Ewelina..."
"...."
"May the earth have mercy upon one who wished an end without its acquiescence.”
An echoing closure of a door resounded in the chamber while the tears she had waken up with continued to fall easily through the paths they had conquered of her visage, sensing the dark sorrow absorb the energy of one hopeless soul whose aching had lost its drive to express the scream of a broken being... Aware that sooner or later, that one who yearned his place beside her would appear before her eyes once again... reviving the despair her current state had put to sleep out of exhaustion.

A spouse that refused to depart the doors of their chambers as it was the closest he was allowed to be thanks to a rigorous savage Vinka perked his ears up to the sound of their opening and quick closure, staring intently at the quiet wild woman, that solely glanced his way before telling any news she could tell to an impatient Aslak.
“... The answer’s the same. She’s alright.”
“... Why did you leave the room.” — He then asked, unsettled to know his fate was left on her own. — “Did something else happen?”
“... I said she’s alright... Although, she’s awake now.”
Aware that no lie would be useful, Vinka sighed the truth to the anxious Myrkzver. Noticing immediately how the depths of his concern were shaken by the news, illuminating his amber with the brilliance a complex hope meshing with fear could light in one fearless of the rotten roots the earth held within.
His breathing, as if until this moment had been none, became tremorous and chaotic in his troubled lungs, and the step he gave towards the door took a hesitant pause aiming for his soul to prepare the conflicted emotions he was already recognizing.
".. .. ..."
The wild woman observed quietly, glancing at a fellow savage, the one trustworthy to the leader within them, sharing the reticence on letting his next step go without a warning.
“She’s still weak...” — Vinka lastly told to one that was ready to go meet his fated lung, currently robbing him of life. Meeting his complex gaze to tell the rest. — “Take it in mind while meeting her, Myrkzver.”
"...."
Kir and Vinka were the ones to depart those corridors, considerate to their leader as no more was there for them to do.
An unsure Aslak received his Constable’s respectful bow to then watch them leave, realising how nervousness had made his hands become sweaty and yet, certain that his desire to see an alive Ewelina was by far stronger than the fear of another confrontation.
The hand that was observed was placed on the cold of the door, pushing its heaviness with caution and finally catch a glimpse of the same back, sitting lonely on the mattress Vinka had seen while leaving the Archduchess’s presence.
*Gulp...* — Aslak’s throat burned instead of subsiding its dryness, happy to see the curls of a wife... whom he owed too much to even live the joy of her survival.
‘... What if... seeing me harms her again?’ — He then thought. In deep pain for the idea hurt him the most... Nonetheless, the stuffy air his lungs were holding onto so toxicly was released. Only allowing his simple self to understand whether that was the case or not... — ‘If it does... I’m sorry, Fatædi... yet let me hurt along you... I can’t deprive myself from seeing you.’
It was silent in its whole how his feet took him inside, even though the heaviness of the door was unable to hide someone’s presence in the chamber.
A few steps were given, coming nearer to where she was sitting, instinctively stopping himself from coming closer for in her previous outrage his closeness was undesired.
