Chapter 170: Scene CLXX — It was... Cursed kindness.

Trying not to mind the unusual sight of his cousin’s smile, Jollveld continued to let Aslak comprehend the greatness of becoming honest.

"... Then imagine it. Ewelina saying she loves you... it means her affection, her heart, her every thought is for you to have and possess... means that you make her happy and that she wants you deeply."

"... R-really?... Like I do every moment?"

"... O-Ou... it basically means you’re her Fatæ..."

"!? Will she call me that?! She hasn’t done it yet."

"?! You idiot! How can she call you that if she knows nothing about why you call her Fatædi!!"

Exasperated the king reprimanded the naive Archduke, looking deeply into the eyes of the man that was excited of another name to be called by his sweet wife.

A thrilled tremble reverberated inside his wide chest, indifferent to the reprimand his cousin gave... solely focused on envisioning the moment of her sound telling her love for the man.

"... If so... I should tell her what she can understand first..."

"!? W-will you tell her?"

"I’ll do it. Everything... I’ll tell my Fatædi everything."

"Selene, walk us to the tea room."

The tall blonde woman nodded at Dorothea’s order, glimpsing at Ewelina with a serious glint before turning silently to guide their steps until a room not more than fifty steps away.

No word was spoken between the women throughout their move. And so, the first to speak was that one controlling her rage.

"Take a seat. Ewelina... Would you like us to serve you some tea? Rhea could make some for us."

"... No, thank you, princess. As you are aware, I have just finished a fulfilling meal at the king’s kindness."

"That is a pity. Are you hoping our talk will be brief?’

"I am." — Ewelina confidently answered while sitting elegantly at the small circular table Dorothea had invited. — "My spouse is an impatient man. I am even concerned he may not let us talk as he acts impulsively."

"Truly?... You seem to know him well to be so sure of such."

"That is a kind compliment... although he is more complicated than one may think... a life will never suffice to get to know one’s partner."

"I agree with that statement." — Dorothea smiled as if versed in the matter. Taking with a refined gesture the tea served by the short slave. — "It is difficult to learn everything about a person... they may have many secrets... every single one of us has secrets... more so us women, who deal with things men will never understand."

"... Indeed."

"So... How has your life as a married woman been? Has the archduke treated you well? As far as I understood, he was quite a violent man... yet what I saw today seems to differ with what I once knew..."

"Well... as we both convened before one never gets to completely know a person. My husband is... truly gentle with this humble wife at the very least." — Stroking the hand the man had held onto with possessive care, Ewelina told the princess. Testing the patience she obviously did not have. — "That is all I am aware of."

"... How lovely."

"Blessed thee Earth."

"... I am curious about your days as an archduchess, however. How long has it been? Half a year at least has traversed since the marriage was declared has it not?"

"... Yes. It is a recent relationship we are enjoying. Sadly, my husband could not be at our home to welcome my arrival. Yet the time we spend together is delightful in its whole."

"... I suppose it will not be long before an heir is born to the Myrkzver name then."

"..."

"The affection you show as a couple is on the edge of becoming inappropriate after all."

"Husband is an eager man... he takes pleasure in any touch he may achieve."

"How about yourself, Ewelina?... Do you also enjoy it?"

The intense gaze waiting for an answer from the stunned Ewelina did shake the wife’s inward composure.

Talking about the private activities with another was not a matter she wished to discuss... much less with a woman whose animosity was apparent and whose desire was on the man she was now passionately bonded to.

Nonetheless...

"I certainly... enjoy the caresses of the man I am destined to. My soul is impatient for our affection to give birth to a child of amber hues just like those beautiful ones my husband owns."

... A part of Ewelina wished to continue reminding Dorothea the man she was wedded to was solely for her to have and know with every word she told. To demonstrate his attention was for her to possess... as well as his touch and sweet gaze.

"... So you do want children." — Dorothea then replied. Sipping on her tea as if indifferent to Ewelina’s announcement.

"Of course. As a woman... as his woman... I wish for us to grow a family together."

"... Lovely... Truly." — A wide smile was displayed by the princess feeling as though she was elated by the news. — "I hope from the bottom of what is myself, that your wish will find fulfilment, Ewelina."

"... I appreciate your good wishes."

Another sip of her tea was glamourously taken by the princess, changing the subject right after the click of her teacup resounded.

"Tomorrow’s feast is in your marriage’s honour, isn’t it? Have you found a dress you are inclined to wear before the many nobles that have travelled to the Kingdom’s centre to meet you?"

"There is a dress I am hoping to wear."

"That is good to know. I was about to offer one of my tunics. Travelling does not let us carry as many things as we would like, doesn’t it? Fufu~"

"... Yes."

Dubious of the tranquil and quick change of subject the princess gave to their conversation, Ewelina followed her suspicious attitude as if unbothered. Leading to common conversations about the appreciation the princess had of the place they were at... seemingly nonchalant and measured unlike the archduchess had imagined the woman her spouse disliked to be.

The talk was weightless in the ears of the wife, who was to continue to appear harmless before a dubious princess as to learn more of her intentions.
