Chapter 141: Scene CXLI

Brief stops at different nobles’ manors were made, nonetheless, not further than a day was spent there as her husband was quick on approaching the issues the king had requested.

The weeks continued to move as time was relentless in its progression, finally arriving to the day a populated city was reached.

Somehow dry in a fading orange shade, the centre of the kingdom, Ramideos was finally seen over the horizon. With a prominent palace rising from the middle of the city, surrounded by it as if trying to hide its presence. However, its magnificent structure elevated to the clear sky, establishing the last stop the troop would take in their march.

"Is that the Palace?" — Ewelina asked her husband, impressed by the lands she had never visited before mixing its sandy nature with the green effortlessly.

"Yeah... we made it just in the time we predicted..."

"... Is there something wrong? You do not seem pleased." — Ewelina then inquired, finding displeasure in Askak’s demeanour. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"....."

Watching down at the sweet wife looking up at him while sharing his mount, Aslak stayed silent. Pondering blankly on the wish to arrive and yet also avoid their destination.

"That king is expecting us. It will be bothersome to arrive... Besides... We now know he summoned other nobles. It’s annoying to think of... He’s probably scheming something."

"Ah... Yes, husband did say you dislike meeting other nobles..."

"... We did come this far. I do have a wife to show off this time."

"Goodness... It is I who is to show off the husband I married to."

Receiving the nuzzle of his nose as her words pleased the man, Ewelina smiled at the honesty Aslak continued to show to the questions she asked. As if purring to her hand’s stroke on his cheek, Aslak then kissed her faintly on the blush of her cheekbone, grinning and continuing their conversation as the march made it closer to a guarded city.

"We’ll find rest in that castle at the very least... We’ll have a better mattress, Fatædi..."

"... Husband..." — Delighted by the seductive whispers her spouse gave like a lovely caress into her ear, Ewelina’s skin gained thrilled goosebumps, lovely in rosy blush, feeling his hand place itself over her stomach like he came to accustom whenever desire ignited within himself.

A sultry flutter of her eyelashes came along with a youthful lift of her corners, and just as seductive, the wife’s whispers prevented the man’s hand from venturing further below her torso.

"Your hand... it should not be hast now... we cannot escape this march for a deeper affection..."

"Grrrmm... Fatædi... Yet I..."

"I am the same... Yet, as you said, at that palace... rest, a better mattress and what’s more... better privacy, spouse of mine... we are to find it within those walls."

Close to the graceful visage of his wife, Aslak admired the smooth caress her sole sound bestowed on his spirit.

Admiring it, a second passed after letting her words sink nicely in his ears, provoking a little and mischievous act from an anticipating, impatient and selfish spouse.

*Kiss*

"Gasp!? Aslak! What if someone saw!?"

"No one did... I couldn’t hold back, Fatædi."

"..." — Peeking around them, no one was looking as they headed the pack of savages.

Slightly concerned she shrank on her shoulders, becoming shy to warn Aslak once more. — "It is not the first time... I wonder if nobody truly saw..."

"No one did. I swear... I hide my wife perfectly since you’re small."

"... Goodness, that excuse again..."

"It’s true. Haha."

More playful exchange commenced from the man, and Ewelina replied as playful and sweet as both liked. The travels continued for what a day entails and it was early on that next morning that the horses entered the city of Ramideos, crossing its humble streets to reach the Palace where as soon as the Archduke’s emblem was sighted, its rough iron and wooden gates opened majestically to receive the one as powerful as the one wearing the Crown of the Zaarmideos Kingdom.

"Fatædi."

"Thank you."

Already inside the clean and wide terrain of the palace, Aslak extended his arms to aid his wife dismount Litilmenni. Taking his hand it was easy for the man to safely get her down by clasping her waist.

The gentle smile of Ewelina made him grin in return once she landed, reluctant to take his hands off of the woman’s soft waist as her sweetness only enhanced during their travels in Aslak’s eyes and soul.

However, his demeanour quickly turned severe. For a man of the King approached them to give a proper greeting.

"Your Illustrious Grace. Welcome to Ramideos, may your journey have been safe and sound for we have your presence."

"... Jollveld. Where is he."

"... His Majesty is at the throne hall."

"Alright." — Disinterested in hearing more of the elaborated politeness the men to the North accustomed, Aslak turned from the man to look at his wife, softening his frown immediately to hold her hand. — "Fatædi, come with me."

"Umh... Alright..." — Surprised by the man’s behaviour she had thought would change at the King’s residence, Ewelina’s bashful sound agreed. Holding onto her husband’s hand as tenderly as he took hers.

"Kir. You come too."

"As you wish, Your Grace."

Leaving behind the rest of his guard, the Archduke paced ahead, indifferent to the slim man sent to guide them as his knowledge of the palace did not need his lead, it was on his wife’s demeanour that attention was placed.

Walking gracefully by his side while her hand kept hold of his as he wished, Ewelina’s admirable pose still felt gentle to the man as her brown eyes looked at the wide corridors of a much brighter castle.

And yet, her gaze came to notice his stare, letting her prominence become much likeable in a fond glint, that nicely spoke to the spouse.

"Why is husband looking at me? Is there something my spouse wishes to share?"

"... No. I’m just staring..."

"Hmm..."

"Your Brilliant Grace, I am to announce you–"

"Don’t. It’s annoying. He already knows I’m here."

"! Yet I cannot–"

"Just open the darn door." — Glaring at the flimsy man, Aslak ordered. Instilling great fear that finally made them decide to follow his order, once Kir’s glare joined the menace.

"My Lord has no patience. Open the gates."

"Y-...Yes. Open the doors!"

In hast, those guarding the throne’s hall rushed to the archduke’s orders. Shivering to their bones for his mysterious fame appeared worse once in the presence of his malicious amber hues.
