Barbaric Spouse, Descry the Night's Lure-Chapter 122: Scene CXXII
"Fucking Earth, Ewelina!"
"I-I’m sorry-!?!"
"Kh! Don’t back away!"
"Ngh!!"
Holding her by the arm, shaking her as he fought and kept the attacks of the creatures away from harming the woman, Aslak became enraged at the danger she carelessly drifted to because of not staying fixed to his side as he had ordered.
Causing the gruesome death of a big skull and savagely wounding another’s thick leg, almost cutting it off by the force placed in his weapon, the Archduke attacked relentlessly, grinding his teeth in annoyance for the brazen creatures dared to try killing his female.
*CrahcrahcrahhhhHAck!!*
Then, a charging beast ran randomly all over the plains, knocking out in his way some of the men it found.
"Vinka!"
"Ai!"
Aslak roared the wild woman’s name, giving an order she could understand as a successful returnee. She heeded entertained to then go for the creature Aslak was dealing with so his weapon could end the overwhelming charge of a Grown Morose Skull whose brain could be seen as if crowning its crane, letting the pack of the Archduke know that if this one was beaten, then no other beast would approach in a while.
Nonetheless, Aslak could not keep the wife near this time. And it pained him... it unsettled him... for the danger was great in either choice he could take. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Vinka! Take Ewelina!" — He roared, pushing the woman to the fellow barbarian, to then whistle a unique sound Litilmenni would hear.
"uh?? Husb-!?"
"Ewelina! Stay behind me!" — Vinka shouted, extending her arm so the confused Archduchess wouldn’t follow her husband. Who ran forward to meet the Brain of the Skulls and save some more distance from the worried wife.
Charging onto the beast with deathly targets to attack already in mind, Aslak rushed to kill it and end the treacherous battle they found themselves in.
Wide swings and flexible movements permitted some serious injuries on the Brain Skull, cutting a section of its muzzle’s bones and piercing the throat... Uselessly for it remained standing, aiming to kill anyone near.
Its claws wished to rip the strong Archduke open, finding more wounds in its tough corpse instead.
"Ah!!" — Suddenly, the scream of a voice he was wedded to reached him. Making him turn and shout the woman’s name.
"Ewelina!"
"Duck!!" — Then a hand reached, pushing her head down as he slayed the beast along his brother’s aid. — "Wake up, Veneer Female!!"
*Kha!? Hka.. ah..* — The creature groaned at its death.
Yet watching the scene, the claw coming for the concerned spouse reached him... Only managing by a step to save his guts from dropping out of his stomach.
"!?!! Hh... . N. Cockered... Fuck!" — Aslak hissed, already rushing to go up against it once more... While a shocked woman couldn’t move at the sight of the blood that wasn’t falling from the hunt Alsak was fighting.
"a... Aslak...!"
"Ewelina, wake up! Don’t ya stay there!" — A frustrated Vinka dragged her away as the fellow savages supported the protection of the Veneer Female, wedded to their Leader.
The chaos seemed blurry and deafening to the woman, summoning sensations she had decided to forget at a long past... So very similar to the grief and desperation the sight of a wounded loved one instilled.
’He’s-.. He’s injured... b-blood...’
— Escape... child is young to die... —
’No...’ — To the hazy remembrance of a dying woman, tears amassed in her eyes. Unaware of a raging steed coming for her, ridden by a wrathful child hissing to every beast intending to attack, much outraged when her Masters had been harmed.
The sound of a tremoring gallop was accompanied by a frowning brakian mainglousse, whose mouth clenched soundlessly, letting her unique skin channel the animosity, enhancing the hue of glowing lilac vibrating with the air she seethed. Provoking shivers in those far and harming the enemies near... exploding their insides with the waves her race produced when induced.
Coming to stand before the bewildered Ewelina, the steed became a shield that wouldn’t be reached as a glaring child focused on that Skull fighting her admired Master.
Clicking her teeth as if a beast herself... Once.
*clack*
Twice.
*Clack*
*KhaAHAhhk*
*ClaCk*
’Fucking Kid!!!’
... Thrice.
Holding back the beast already dying... Aslak’s eyes also reflected the impact of Nu’s power, feeling the pain intensify while the white became deep red as the battle was over.
"...zzh MastEr..." — Nu continued to hiss, although Aslak was the one standing.
And turning to the child, he glared. Holding back the urge to hit her as a woman who cared for the savage kid was still there.
"Stop. Now."
"?!... M-Master...!"
"Don’t use it when you can’t control it, darn fool."
"I-..! N-nu is sorry..." — Lowering her head as he approached their spot, Nu came back to her senses while feeling ashamed to see most of the harm dealt to her Master was by her ability, for only that wound in his stomach was taken by the barbaric Archduke.
However...
"... husband...?" — Peeking from behind the horse and Yngve’s back, Ewelina’s trembling voice resounded, meeting the red surrounding the fading amber of her spouse’s gaze.
"..."
"Aslak... Aslak! Y-you’re bleeding!!" — Rushing and stammering as she did, Ewelina ran to her already near partner. Teary-eyed and with a croaking sound for the sight perturbed the woman extremely.
"W-we have to treat it...! we-... Hng! ... husband..."
"... Go tend those actually injured. I’ll take care of my woman." — Glaring at those observing the Archduchess, Aslak growled. Placing a hand over her soft fur in a sign of possession.
"... Ou... Yngve. Auflulk..."
"... master..."
"Go, kid. Tend our horses."
Unable to keep her tears... Ewelina shrank, body and sound, gripping the man’s weary shirt to let her forehead fall on his torso, invoking the man’s order to those staring, surprised yet concerned while confused. Ultimately obeying for it was meant for the man to console his wife’s distress.
"... Oi. Woman... Stop." — Annoyed by her trembling, Aslak ordered, awkward as he did not know how to proceed again.
Yet conscious that his hand wanted to stroke Ewelina’s back, instinctively wishing to comfort her fright with affection.
"... t-there is red coming from you..."
"... It’s fine."
"It is not..." — Incapable of facing the man, her tears still could see the big wounds the claws had left throughout the side of his abdomen. And conflicted to see the bleeding continue, Ewelina frowned. Determined to tend to his injury. Taking the wrist, still holding the heavy spiked axe he owned to move him somewhere he could sit so she could treat him as she could. — "This way. Let me see your wound."
"I said it’s fine–"
"It is not!"
"..."
"... Please... husband... let me see it."
Watching her downward demeanour as her hands trembled, hesitant over the rag of a blouse covering his wound, Aslak’s soul ached because of her fragile appearance, sighing to it as it caused conflict... for her trouble also troubled him.
"Alright."
Letting the axe rest on the ground next to the place he decided to sit on, the Archduke granted the effete Archduchess’s request... Reluctant, yet obedient, for the red in her teary lids told him not to oppose her wishes.
