Chapter 304: Chapter 314: Cold and Indifferent (Additional 800 monthly tickets) _1

It wasn’t until Lu Aiguo came over from next door that Gu Xiaobei returned to her bedroom. She couldn’t resist darting over to the twin children on the bed who were trying hard to crawl, hugging them tightly and kissing them enthusiastically, to the giddy joy of Mo Wang and Xiaopang.

Watching the trio become a crazy bundle, Lu Zhanguo felt incredibly relieved. He waited for Gu Xiaobei to calm down before asking, "So how did things go?"

Gu Xiaobei blinked, playing coy, "What thing?"

Lu Zhanguo scratched his head awkwardly, "You know, that thing."

"What thing is ’that thing’? " Gu Xiaobei finished her sentence, chuckling and flopping onto the bed.

Lu Zhanguo felt more embarrassed, his ears turning red. He decided not to ask, realizing doing and talking were two different matters.

When Lu Zhanguo stopped asking further, Gu Xiaobei said: "It hurt a little at first, but it was fine afterwards. The Doctor did say we can’t have intercourse for two weeks though."

Lu Zhanguo responded with a hum and flopped down next to her on the bed, tickling Xiaopang’s little foot until Xiaopang laughed out loud.

Gu Xiaobei poked Lu Zhanguo’s shoulder curiously: "Don’t you have anything else to say?" 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Lu Zhanguo turned to look at her, his gaze burning as he ambiguously retorted, "I’ve never been one for talking, I’m a doer."

Gu Xiaobei looked at Lu Zhanguo with disdain, "Oh-ho, someone’s learned how to talk back and he’s doing so schemingly too."

"How did you know Ruirui and Chen Dajun were lying? What if Ruirui really did run away from home?" Gu Xiaobei asked, raising the subject of Lu Ruixue.

"That’s impossible, Chen Dajun was definitely lying. His demeanor and tone of speech were unnatural," Lu Zhanguo said somewhat angrily.

Although the room was heated, the children were dressed lightly in their sleep, wearing just a thin t-shirt and pants. Mo Wang was trying his best to move towards the front with his tiny crawled steps.

Looking at Mo Wang’s strenuous crawling, Gu Xiaobei felt worried again. Once they returned to the provincial city after the New Year, she would be lucky to find time to eat a warm meal, let alone do anything else she wanted.

Early the next morning, Gu Xiaobei was awakened by the slamming noises from downstairs. The two kids huddled close to her, their tiny bodies shivering in shock.

Gu Xiaobei was slightly angry. She didn’t need to think to know that Lu Ruixue had come over to create a ruckus again. Lu Aiguo was right about her, she was a thoughtless girl who only knew how to eat more and more.

Lu Ruixue got angrier and angrier thinking about her situation, questioning the value of familial bonds, especially when faced with the cold harshness of money.

She ran all the way back home early in the morning, only to see that Lu Songyuan was home. When he heard Lu Ruixue’s whining and understood the situation, he hurled the delicate porcelain teacup he was holding.

Lu Ruixue still feared her father. Seeing Lu Songyuan so angry, she kept quiet and sulked while glaring at Lu Aiguo.

Lu Aiguo was thoroughly done with his sister. He said coldly, "Don’t think we’re letting you off because we’re afraid of you. If you continue like this, you’d better watch out."

Lu Ruixue retorted stubbornly, "Dad, did you hear that? If my elder brother still regards me as his sister, he should return that house to us."

The mention of the house made Lu Aiguo explode with anger, "Lu Ruixue, have you gotten stupid from eating too much lard? Can’t you see what’s right in front of you? Let me tell you, you can forget about that house! I will not give it to you! You can go tell Chen Dajun, if he sees me, he’d better go around or else I might just punch his lights out!"

Lu Ruixue was taken aback by Lu Aiguo’s burst of anger, she forgot to wail, staring with wide eyes. After a moment, she said to Lu Songyuan, "Dad, aren’t you going to do something? My brother is bullying me."

Lu Songyuan choked out in anger, "What’s wrong with you? Ever since you married Chen Dajun, your brain seems to be completely useless. Business is for those who are willing to take risk, just look at how you’re behaving now."

Lu Ruixue saw how not even her father took her side, she became even more stubborn, "I knew it! You only care about boys, not girls. I’m always the one you find fault with, everything I do seems wrong in your eyes. If you knew it was going to be like this, why did you bother to have me?!" With that, she succumbed to her sadness and burst out crying.

Lu Aiguo got so angry that he was about to grab Lu Ruixue and throw her out.

Seeing Lu Aiguo about to grab her again, Lu Ruixue yelled, "Don’t touch me! I’m pregnant right now. If anything happens, you’ll regret it!"

Frustrated by his sister’s threat, Lu Aiguo raised his fists, then finally sat down in anger.

Lu Zhanguo, who had been sitting aside, suddenly got up and left the room quickly after hearing Lu Ruixue’s words.

A few minutes later, Lu Zhanguo brought in Chen Dajun, who had his face encased in ice.

"Fuck! Even this bastard’s here." Lu Aiguo growled upon seeing Chen Dajun and lunged at him, intending to give him a good beating.

Lu Zhanguo grabbed Lu Aiguo’s arm and said coldly, "Everybody calm down. We’re settling this today once and for all."

Chen Dajun rubbed his hands, greeted Lu Songyuan timidly, then shrank back and stood next to Lu Ruixue.

"Look at this bastard, he pisses me off. I so want to beat the hell out of him." The anger bubbled up in Lu Aiguo, who spat out curses.

Lu Songyuan glared at his third son and said with a stern voice, "Ruixue, Dajun, you’re always wasting your life. But I thought at least you had some sense. Now it seems, you haven’t even learned how to be a human."

Lu Ruixue snorted, saying, "What do we want? We want our old house back. My third brother took advantage of our helplessness back then. I heard from others, that batch of color TVs he had, and he made at least thirty or forty thousand off it."

Lu Aiguo resisted the impulse to go beat Lu Ruixue, shouting angrily, "Heard it from who? Do you think I’m printing money? Thirty or forty thousand; you even know what that number means?"

"Regardless, I heard it from someone. Therefore, you should return that house to us." Lu Ruixue persisted stubbornly.

"House? I won’t give. If it weren’t for me, this jerk Chen Dajun would be rotting in jail. You wanna create a scene about it, then go ahead." Fed up with the pair, Lu Aiguo got up and went upstairs.

Lu Songyuan sighed, shaking his head, "Ruixue, Dajun, I’ve always seen you as reasonable people. Even though you’ve been messing around, I thought you at least know the fundamentals of being a person. Now it seems that you haven’t even learned that."

Lu Ruixue was now in a trance, sobbing, "Now you’re accusing me of not knowing how to be a person, why didn’t you teach me that earlier? Now it’s too late. Although I have parents, I’m not different from being an orphan. No one ever taught me how to be a person. I ended up like this, isn’t that the result of your dereliction of duty?"

Lu Songyuan was so angry, he felt his chest tighten, and he pointed a trembling finger at Ruixue, "You are so ungrateful! There will come a day when you will regret this."
