Back To The 80s-Chapter 296 - 306: Group Fight (Second Update Seeking Monthly Ticket)_1
Bai Xiaolan didn’t fall for this, cursing, "So you’re pretending now, huh? You seemed pretty cocky yesterday; why can’t you take a beating now? Get the fuck up."
Gu Xiaobei was flabbergasted; this was a completely different Bai Xiaolan from the one he’d met at home. She’d been so well-behaved then, but today she was totally fierce.
Qin Ximei suddenly rushed out from the crowd and flung herself before Yuan Qing, shouting at Bai Xiaolan, "Who raised you to be so wild, hitting people like this? Doesn’t anyone care?"
Upon seeing Qin Ximei, Gu Xiaobei’s anger flared. He’d been itching to spot this woman; now destiny served her right up. With that thought, he lunged forward.
Noticing Gu Xiaobei suddenly charging forward like an enraged leopard, Fang Jing quickly grabbed him, saying, "Sis, what are you doing?"
Gu Xiaobei threw Fang Jing a glance and said, "Let go of me. This old hag instigated her relatives to almost kidnap Mo Wang."
On hearing this, Fang Jing’s fury also ignited: "How despicable! Let’s beat her up!" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
Qin Ximei was initially squatting on the ground. She hadn’t expected Gu Xiaobei to suddenly charge at her. She was instantly knocked onto the ground.
Gu Xiaobei sat astride Qin Ximei and started slapping her face fiercely: "I’ll teach you to kidnap children, you heartless wretch!"
Fang Jing wasn’t idle either; she’d long been fed up with Qin Ximei. She began to kick Qin Ximei’s stomach and thighs mercilessly.
Bai Xiaolan was a bit taken aback. She was hitting Yuan Qing, but Gu Xiaobei and Fang Jing began to beat Qin Ximei. She suddenly heard Gu Xiaobei accusing Qin Ximei of kidnapping and her sense of justice immediately surged. She joined in, kicking Qin Ximei a few times.
Seeing three people beating her mother, Yuan Qing cried out, "Murder, help!"
Qin Ximei, dizzy from the blows, waved her arms wildly, crying out, "Help, I didn’t kidnap any children."
Fang Jing, feeling the fight was coming to an end, planned to go pull Gu Xiaobei away. Having a closer look, she jumped with fright. Gu Xiaobei was completely in a rage, his hands tightly clasping Qin Ximei’s neck, mumbling, "I’ll teach you to kidnap my son." Qin Ximei was starting to roll her eyes.
Upon seeing this ongoing, Fang Jing quickly rushed to pull Gu Xiaobei’s arm away. Someone in the onlooking crowd shouted, "The police are here!"
Upon hearing this, Bai Xiaolan and Fang Jing immediately each grabbed one of Gu Xiaobei’s arms, trying to pull him up. Just as the three stood up, three green-uniformed policemen arrived.
Seeing a group of women fighting, the police officers felt rather perplexed. An older officer asked, "Why are you all fighting?"
Yuan Qing replied tearfully, "My mother and I were just quietly visiting the hospital when these women attacked us like madwomen."
Bai Xiaolan spat and said, "What visit to the hospital? Officer, we were performing a public service. This one’s a homewrecker, that old hag is a child trafficker."
Gu Xiaobei, finally a bit calmer now, looked at Bai Xiaolan, impressed with her brazen spouting of nonsense, and wondered how she managed to twist their actions into a public service.
"Alright, alright, you all need to come with us to the police station." The officer said, looking exasperated at the women.
Yuan Qing picked up Qin Ximei, who was swollen and bruised and trembling. Qin Ximei glanced fearfully at Gu Xiaobei and his companions and didn’t make a sound as they left for the station.
At home, Lu Zhanguo was watching the two children. He received a phone call telling him to come to the station because of a fight involving Gu Xiaobei and Fang Jing.
Lu Zhanguo was worried—how had a trip to the hospital ended up in a police station? Looking at the two children on the sofa, he had a headache. Lu Aiguo was also not at home - if he left, who would be there for the children?
Thinking for a moment, he called out, "Mom, I need to step out for a bit. Could you and Aunt Li watch the kids?"
Wen Xiuqing, who was in the kitchen steaming egg custard for Mo Wang and Xiaopang, hesitated at his request, but eventually nodded, saying, "Alright, you go."
In the police station, both sides stuck to their stories - Bai Xiaolan accused Yuan Qing of being a homewrecker while Gu Xiaobei accused Qin Ximei of kidnapping.
Yuan Qing maintained that she was involved in a consensual relationship and therefore not a homewrecker. Qin Ximei argued that she had not kidnapped any children and that Gu Xiaobei was falsely accusing her.
The police, looking at the group of clamouring women, got headaches and requested family members come and resolve the issue.
Hearing this, Qin Ximei was too afraid to inform Yuan Dahai and told the police that there were no other family members there. The officers, not believing her, threatened her until she finally revealed her address.
Hearing this, Bai Xiaolan covertly pulled on Gu Xiaobei’s sleeve and whispered, "Later, you need to say we’re together, alright?" After saying this, she even winked.
Gu Xiaobei understood that she was afraid her family members would learn about the fight. Considering she had helped them somewhat earlier on, Gu Xiaobei nodded and said, "Alright, I’ll say it."
Seeing Gu Xiaobei offer up his phone number voluntarily and assert they were family, the police didn’t question any further. They just wanted to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and send these troublesome women home.
When Lu Zhanguo arrived at the station and saw Qin Ximei’s battered face, he immediately understood what had happened. He looked quickly at Gu Xiaobei and noticed that Gu Xiaobei wasn’t hurt at all, which greatly relieved him.
Seeing that Lu Zhanguo was in a military uniform, the police also behaved politely as they narrated the situation.
At that time, there weren’t interconnected computer systems. And with the T City Town police station’s phone line disconnected, it was hard to verify whether Gu Xiaobei and the women’s statements were true.
Seeing Qin Ximei’s reaction to Lu Zhanguo, her eyes filled with guilt and her body shivering uncontrollably, the police didn’t need to verify the story. They could easily guess that Qin Ximei was in the wrong.
Since it wasn’t a big case, the police reprimanded them and let them go. By that time, the officer who had been dispatched to notify Yuan Dahai had also brought him to the station.
Upon hearing the sequence of events, Yuan Dahai’s temper flared and he raised his hand to hit Qin Ximei. The police quickly stopped him: "Enough! If you have a problem, go home and discuss it. Don’t use violence."
Scared, Qin Ximei quickly hid behind Yuan Qing, not daring to show her face.
Yuan Dahai, feeling guilty appearing in front of Lu Zhanguo and the others, said apologetically, "Zhanguo, I’m sorry! I’m ashamed of marrying someone like her."
Lu Zhanguo watched Yuan Dahai calmly, not uttering a sound.
Without waiting for Lu Zhanguo to speak, Yuan Dahai stepped forward, grabbed Qin Ximei’s arm and said, "Come on, let’s go home. If you stir up trouble again, I’ll break your legs.""
With a scared look on her face, Yuan Qing quickly followed them out. As she passed Bai Xiaolan, Bai Xiaolan stealthily stuck out her leg, tripping Yuan Qing. Bai Xiaolan then immediately pulled her leg back.
After stabilising herself, Yuan Qing glared at the innocent-looking Bai Xiaolan before walking off in a huff.
After saying goodbye to the police, Lu Zhanguo finally led the three women out of the station.
Upon stepping outside, Fang Jing curiously asked, "Xiaolan, why did you hit Yuan Qing? Is she really a homewrecker?"
Bai Xiaolan grinned saying, "Nope, who knows who she belongs to? Yesterday, I was ice-skating with some friends at the lake in the back hill when she and a guy showed up. She bumped into me, and not only didn’t apologize, but she also cursed. If my friends hadn’t held me back, I would have beaten her up right then. Today, I happened to run into her, so I used an excuse to beat her up."
