Chapter 32: Episode 32: Teaching the Massive Wolf

Pneumonia ?

Kaelan couldn’t understand what she was saying, all he knew was that he wanted to mate with her, so she can conceive his pup.

He growled, a low, threatening rumble that vibrated in his chest.

He took another step, looming over her, his shadow swallowing her small frame.

He wanted to intimidate and show how desperate he was to get a pup.

But he didn’t know he met his match today.

"You do not have a choice," he hissed, leaning down until they were nose to nose. "You are my prisoner. My prize. I can take what I need."

So you want to rape me ?

I will not be having it. I am not so easy to fuck!

Of course she didn’t say it out loud . These were beasts, they eat human flesh, although she knew that they didn’t know about her species.

They fed on fear. So Roxy was doing her best to hide it.

Roxy didn’t flinch. She looked him dead in the eye, channeling every ounce of her anger for these type of men on her tongue.

"Biology Lesson Number Three, Wolfy," she said calmly.

Kaelen blinked. "Biology?"

"Stress," Roxy said, poking him in his rock-hard chest. "When a female is cold, stressed, or grossed out, her body produces Cortisol. Do you know what Cortisol does to a womb?"

Kaelen hesitated. He remembered the Dragon King’s roar. He remembered the stories of the females dying.

"It kills the seed," Roxy lied. Well, it was a half-lie, but she sold it with conviction. "It tells the body, ’This environment is hostile! Abort mission!’ So, if you force me right now, on this dirty floor, while you smell like a swamp... you won’t get an heir. You’ll get nothing."

She let that sink in.

It was practically easy for her to use this words from her biology class, when on earth, there are better words to replace it.

It makes her feel unique and special in such a world where she was a hunted prey.

Kaelen’s face paled. The desperation in his eyes shifted from lust to terror. He looked at his hands, then at the cold room.

"Then... what do I do?" he whispered, sounding lost.

Roxy smirked. Gotcha.

"You work," she declared.

She reached into her [Diaper Bag] (which she refused to put down on the dirty floor) and pulled out a small, portable broom she had bought ages ago and never used.

Thanks to the system, she didn’t have to look for things and make them manually. She just have to buy it from the system making her life less hard to get by.

She shoved it into the King’s hand.

"Step one: Clean this floor. I want every speck of dust gone. Step two: Fetch wood. Lots of it. We need a fire big enough to roast a mammoth. Step three: Find a bath. Or a bucket. And scrub."

Kaelen looked at the broom. It looked comically small in his massive, clawed hand.

"You want the Alpha... to sweep?" he asked, his voice trembling with rage.

He doesn’t know what sweeping is, but he hated the idea he had of it.

"I want the Father of my future child to provide a nest that isn’t a disaster," Roxy corrected. She sat down on a clean rock near the wall and crossed her legs. "Tick tock, Kaelen. I am already losing interest. Are you going to sweep, or are you going to let your bloodline die out because you’re too proud to hold a broom?"

Kaelen stared at her. He stared at the broom. He stared at the empty, cold room that had been his home for centuries.

With a snarl of frustration, he turned around and started sweeping.

[TheSassyGoddess is rolling on the floor laughing. She requests popcorn.]

[TheWorldbuildingGod notes that ’Domesticated Wolf’ is a new evolutionary path.]

Roxy watched him, hiding a smile behind her hand. It was ridiculous. Here was one of the deadliest predators in the Beast World, naked, sweeping dirt out of his bedroom because a tiny human woman told him to.

At first she was staring at his asset as it dangled around with the air of his frustration and after some time she shut her eyes.

Breathe, Rox. You are not that easy to win over.

Roxy opened her System Interface.

[Current Balance: 1,350,000 LP.]

She quickly opened the System Tier 3 - Furniture shop. She was really impressed, maybe because the system forcefully sweeped her into this world.

It was giving her the chance to live a luxurious life in a world that is way behind in development, it was giving her a chance to have everything she use to have in her room, wherever she went at her own disposal and with a price.

It still doesn’t give it the right to make her abandon her child, to giving birth to another.

Would I also leave this child ? And go to the next ?

She pressed a hand flat against her stomach

While Kaelen furiously swept dust out the door, grumbling about "dragon witchery," Roxy went shopping.

[Item: Thick Wool Area Rug (Grey) - 2,000 LP]

[Item: Portable Cast-Iron Fireplace - 5,000 LP]

[Item: Scented Candles (Vanilla & Sandalwood) - 500 LP]

[Item: King-Sized Faux-Fur Bedding Set - 8,000 LP]

"Kaelen!" Roxy shouted.

He spun around, the broom raised like a weapon. "What?!"

"Wood. Now," she commanded. "We need to have fire burning!"

Kaelen threw the broom down and stormed out a fur wrapped around his waist, muttering curses that would make a sailor blush. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

The moment he was gone, Roxy moved.

She snapped her fingers, and the large cave flashed with blue light.

She covered the rocky floor with the thick, plush rugs. She placed the heavy cast-iron fireplace in the center of the room, positioning the chimney pipe out one of the window.

She set up the bedding, not a mattress this time, but layers of ultra-soft, clean furs and pillows that looked like a cloud.

She placed the candles around the room. Specifically at the corners.

"Okay," she whispered, looking around. "This should be better, it looks more like a home now."

Ten minutes later, Kaelen kicked the door open. He was carrying an entire tree trunk on his shoulder. He was covered in sweat, panting, his hair wild.

"I brought the wood," he growled, dropping the log with a deafening crash. "Now we—"

He stopped.

He looked at the room. The cold stone was softened by the warm candlelight. The dirty floor was hidden beneath soft, clean fur.

The fireplace she had set up was waiting, looking like a piece of alien technology, he had never seen before.

He was awed.

He wondered if this was the reason the dragon king was obsessed with her.

But it was the smell that hit him hardest. Vanilla. It reminded him of the scent of his mother before she died.

"What magic is this?" Kaelen whispered, stepping onto the rug. He looked down at his feet, amazed that they weren’t cold.

"It’s called ’Nesting’, big guy," Roxy said, standing up. She walked over to the fireplace and used her [Fire Starter Kit] to light the wood she had placed inside.

Grateful she didn’t have to use the Stone Age method to light the wood.

Within seconds, a roaring fire crackled behind the iron grate, radiating heat into the room.

The temperature shot up instantly.

Kaelen stared at the fire. He reached out a hand, feeling the warmth without the stinging smoke that usually filled the fortress.

"It is... warm," he murmured. He looked at Roxy, his icy eyes wide with wonder. "You did this? For... for the pack?"

"For us," Roxy corrected softly. She walked over to him. "Now," reaching up to brush dirt from his eyelash. "About that bath."

Kaelen swallowed hard. The aggression, it all melted away in the face of this impossible comfort. He looked at the bed she had made. It looked soft. And something was drawing him to eat.

Call it some dog instinct that cries out for comfort.

"I have no bath," he admitted, his voice quiet. "But there is a stream close by."

Roxy sighed. "Then shall we go now."

Kaelan quickly took her to the stream in the same forest outside the pack. It was beyond beautiful.

"This is where the pack comes to clean their furs." Kaelan announced.

Roxy eyes gleamed with mischief.

With one smooth motion she slipped the robe off her body, grabbed his his rough, calloused, deadly hands and pulled him toward it. "Get in and scrub you puppy! And then..."

She looked him up and down, her gaze lingering on his defined V-line and the impressive muscles of his thighs. Her voice dropped an octave, losing the sass and gaining a sultry edge.

"Then, you can show me how a Wolf claims his mate."

Kaelen’s pupils blew wide. The scent of vanilla mixed with her pheromones, was a clear sign of her invitation.

He looked at the stream and then looked at her.

"I will scrub," Kaelen vowed solemnly. "I will scrub until I smell like... whatever you want."

[System Alert: Target ’Wolf King’ is undergoing rapid domestication.]

[System Warning: Dragon King Rage Level at 95%. Distance: Closing fast.]

Roxy ignored the red warning flashing in the corner of her vision.

She had a job to do.

And looking at the Wolf King stepping into the water, she decided that saving the world wasn’t all bad.
