Chapter 315: Episode 313: Introducing Caspian

The playful, punishing promise Roxy had whispered against Caspian’s chest was forcefully put on hold the very next morning.

News of Queen Roxy’s successful delivery and the birth of a female White Tiger cub had spread across the continent like wildfire. The Iron-Wood Manor, which had been a quiet sanctuary during the Wither-Rot plague, was suddenly thrust back into the bustling, vibrant center of Beastworld politics.

Representatives from the allied territories traveled through the dense forests to pay their absolute respects to the Matriarch and to welcome the new royal heir.

By midday, the expansive front courtyard of the Manor was a chaotic, joyful sea of arriving carriages, massive shifted beasts, and chattering children.

"Make room by the eastern wing for the dragons to land!" Kaelen’s booming, authoritative voice echoed across the cobblestones, directing the Iron-Wood guards as the first guests arrived.

From the jagged, volcanic peaks of the Dragon territory came Lady Lyra, a fiercely elegant dragoness with shimmering crimson scales lining her cheekbones.

She descended from the sky with her three rambunctious young dragons in tow: Rhae, a fiery young female, and her two boisterous brothers, Kaida and Ryuu.

Almost simultaneously, the heavy iron gates swung open to admit the delegation from the Wolf Pack.

Mara, his Beta’s mate and one of Kaelen’s most trusted pack members, led the group. She brought her own brood of wolf pups: Reika, a sharp-eyed young female, and three energetic males named Hati, Skoll, and Karhu.

Finally, representing the vast eastern plains, came Regent Titus. The massive, golden-striped Tiger Beastman, who currently ruled Torian’s former territory in the Alpha’s stead, arrived with his beautiful, deeply nervous mate.

Cradled securely in her arms was a tiny, sleeping tiger cub of their own.

They did not come empty-handed. The grand entrance hall of the Manor was quickly flooded with bountiful, extravagant gifts. Lyra presented chests of dragon-forged gold and rare, heat-retaining volcanic crystals meant to keep the royal nursery eternally warm.

Mara’s wolves dragged in massive sleds piled high with the finest, thickest winter pelts and incredibly rare, healing mountain herbs.

Regent Titus offered sprawling bolts of shimmering eastern silk and beautifully carved toys made from polished bone and gold.

The Manor had never felt so alive.

The moment the formalities of the gifts were concluded, the children entirely abandoned their absolute best behavior.

"Hati!" Iris squealed, her fluffy black ears perking up the second she spotted her favorite wolf pup. She abandoned her stuffed rabbit on a side table and sprinted across the foyer.

Hati puffed out his chest proudly, catching Iris in a massive hug while his tail wagged furiously behind him.

"Skoll! Let’s go to the training yard!" Axel barked happily, immediately tackling his best friend to the floorboards before the two of them scrambled upright and bolted for the back doors.

Onyx wasn’t far behind, grabbing Karhu by the arm. "Drax is out back! He said he’d show us how to throw the heavy axes!"

The three young dragons, Rhae, Kaida, and Ryuu, didn’t even ask for permission. They shifted into their winged forms and launched themselves out the nearest open window, eager to chase Drax through the canopy of the Iron-Wood forest.

"Let them run," Roxy laughed softly, standing near the base of the grand staircase. She was dressed in an elegant, flowing gown of deep emerald green, looking incredibly radiant despite having given birth only a few days prior.

Tyara was tucked safely upstairs in the nursery under the watchful eyes of Dena, allowing Roxy to properly host.

Only Tanith remained with Roxy, but she was fast asleep in her snake form in her own crib in the living room. After the young girl saw her little sister, she was so happy, but she fell asleep soon after.

Roxy turned her warm, green eyes to Regent Titus and his mate, who were lingering nervously near the parlor doors.

"My Queen," Titus’s mate murmured, offering a deep, deeply respectful bow as she stepped forward, gently offering the bundle in her arms. "It is the greatest honor of our bloodline. We humbly ask that you bestow a name upon our daughter."

In the Beastworld, having a King or Queen name a child was a mark of ultimate favor, a blessing that promised the cub a life of strength and prosperity.

Roxy’s heart melted. She stepped forward, gently pulling the blanket back to reveal a tiny tiger cub with soft brown stripes. She stroked the cub’s head.

"She is beautiful," Roxy whispered softly. She looked up at the proud, waiting parents. "Her name shall be Sienna. For the golden warmth of the eastern sun."

Titus’s mate wept silent tears of joy, bowing her head repeatedly. "Thank you, Queen Roxy. Thank you."

With the children successfully banished to the courtyard and the naming blessing complete, Zarek and Torian ushered the visiting adults into the grand downstairs parlor.

Zarek immediately went to the carved wooden cabinet, pouring heavy goblets of spiced wine and distributing them to Mara, Lyra, and Titus. The atmosphere was meant to be celebratory and relaxed, a gathering of old allies and trusted friends.

However, a heavy, undeniable undercurrent of shock rippled through the visiting guests the moment they took their seats.

They had all expected to see the towering Dragon, the stoic Wolf, the fierce Tiger, the elegant Snake, and the charming Fox. But standing quietly near the roaring fireplace, leaning his broad shoulder against the stone mantle with an air of absolute, unbothered ownership, was a sixth man.

Caspian was wearing proper Surface clothing. He wore dark, tailored trousers and a pristine white shirt left unbuttoned at the collar. His stark white hair caught the firelight, and his striking silver-blue eyes swept over the guests with a calm, calculating intensity.

He was mortal now. His abyssal magic was gone. But the sheer, devastating soul of a King does not simply vanish because the body changes.

Caspian radiated an incredibly heavy, commanding Aura. It wasn’t the fiery, explosive dominance of Zarek or the feral, crushing weight of Torian. It was a cold, immense, and unfathomably deep pressure. It felt like standing at the edge of a bottomless cliff in the dead of night.

Lyra, Mara, and Titus exchanged wide-eyed, completely stunned glances. They were absolutely shocked to find another male among the Queen’s already legendary harem. Roxy had managed to conquer yet another terrifying apex predator.

Because of the sheer, oppressive weight of Caspian’s Aura, none of the guests dared to probe rudely. They sipped their wine, offering polite, incredibly cautious smiles in his direction.

"The Iron-Wood continues to flourish under your rule, Queen Roxy," Titus offered diplomatically, his golden eyes darting nervously toward the fireplace. "And it seems your... vanguard has grown even stronger since the plague."

Roxy sat gracefully on the plush velvet sofa, Torian immediately taking his place standing right behind her shoulder. She smiled, gesturing warmly toward the fireplace.

"It has," Roxy agreed brightly, her tone leaving absolutely no room for disrespect. "Lyra, Mara, Titus... allow me to introduce my mate. This is Caspian. He is the father of my son, Zale."

The guests blinked. They all knew of Zale, the mysterious, pale-skinned infant with webbed fingers that Roxy had held in her arms when she welcomed them. But none of them knew the exact details of where she had been all those months, or who had taken her.

The Kings had kept the truth of the ocean a fiercely guarded secret to protect her reputation and prevent a continent-wide panic. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"It is an honor to meet you, Caspian," Mara said politely, her wolf instincts keeping her posture rigid and respectful. "Your Aura is... incredibly unique. Are you from the northern glaciers? Your coloring suggests the ice plains."

Caspian pushed off the stone mantle, taking a slow, measured step toward the center of the parlor. He moved with a strange, careful grace, still adjusting to the heavy gravity of the Surface world on his new legs.

"I am not from the ice plains," Caspian replied. His voice was gravelly, laced with undeniable, aristocratic authority.

He stopped beside Roxy’s sofa, gently resting his calloused hand on the backrest near her shoulder.

"I hail from a kingdom far older than the dirt beneath this Manor," Caspian stated simply, his silver-blue eyes locking onto the guests. "I am from the deep sea. The abyssal trench."

The grand parlor went completely, horrifyingly dead silent.

Someone, likely Titus, choked slightly on their spiced wine.

To the land-dwelling tribes of the Beastworld, the deep ocean was not a place of wonder. It was a realm of absolute nightmares.

It was a black, crushing void filled with colossal, mindless monsters that swallowed the sunlight and destroyed anything that dared to touch the waves. The idea that a civilized, intelligent, and terrifyingly powerful King had emerged from that pitch-black hellscape to stand in a sunlit parlor was almost impossible to process.

Mara’s jaw went slack. Titus stared at Caspian as if the white-haired man were a ghost.

But Lyra of the Dragon Peaks did not look terrified. The elegant dragoness slowly lowered her silver goblet to the wooden table. Her crimson-scaled brow furrowed deeply as her ancient, draconic memory sifted through the oldest, most guarded legends passed down by the winged elders of the peaks.

Legends of a shimmering, impenetrable kingdom hidden in the crushing dark. Legends of a royal bloodline that fought the leviathans.

"By the Gods," Lyra breathed, her voice trembling slightly as the pieces snapped perfectly into place. "You are King Caspian of the Deep Sea?"
