Chapter 733: The War

The ground was no longer the same.

What just a few hours ago had been the organized and magnificent territory of the Everlight Moon Guild had now turned into a full-scale battlefield under the shadow of a massive army and a suffocating pressure of mana. A battlefield where thousands of Awakened stood on both sides... yet neither side had moved.

A strange silence filled the air. Not the kind of calm, but the kind that comes before a storm begins.

On one side, the forces of Everlight Moon stood in formation, from the lowest ranks to high-level Awakened. Beside them stood beings whose presence felt unfamiliar even to Everlight Moon itself.

Naturally, they were none other than Daniel’s Fallen.

One of the guild’s greatest trump cards. As immortal forces with seemingly endless power, they were like a nightmare for the enemy army.

However, not all of them were here. A little more than half of them stood on the battlefield at this moment, while the rest were nowhere to be seen.

It was unclear whether that was intentional... or if something had gone wrong.

On the other side of the field stood the army of the Goblin Guild, organized, yet savage. Their auras were like wild beasts that knew nothing but killing and destruction.

At a glance, it was obvious, they were trained for war. A force prepared specifically for a day like this.

The auras leaking from their bodies were pure violence. And among them stood individuals whose presence alone felt dangerous, even from a distance.

Neither side seemed in a hurry. It didn’t look like either intended to attack yet.

Why?

Because both sides were watching.

Analyzing. Calculating. Hunting.

The Goblin Guild held the upper hand, especially since, due to what had happened earlier, Everlight Moon’s forces had suffered mental damage. Some of them had even died before the battle began.

More importantly, the time the guild had planned to build their structure and strategy had never been realized. Those bastards had disrupted everything, forcing the defensive array to collapse earlier than expected. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Eyes moved across defensive lines, distances, formations, and even the smallest weaknesses.

One mistake.

Just one.

And everything would collapse.

This was a war where the losing side would be completely destroyed. There would be no place left for them in this country.

In the sky, the clouds slowly parted. Sunlight barely passed through, but no one paid attention.

All civilians had long since been evacuated. Not a single non-combatant remained.

No one.

This battlefield... existed only for war.

And then, in an instant the war began.

The first move came from the Goblin Guild. No warning. No countdown.

Just an explosion.

A wave of Awakened surged forward like a black tide. The ground split beneath their feet, and the air trembled from the force of their movement.

"Advance!"

At the same moment, Everlight Moon’s forces moved as well.

Clash.

Sound.

Blood.

Within seconds, the battlefield turned into hell.

Blades collided, spells exploded in the air, and screams were swallowed by the chaos.

Daniel’s Fallen spread through the enemy ranks like hunters released into prey, silent, but deadly.

One of them, a creature half-human and half-shadow, dove into the enemy line and, in a single motion, split three people in half.

Elsewhere, an Everlight Moon Awakened shattered the ground with his fist, sending a wave of stone and mana toward the enemy, but before he could even breathe, a blade pierced his throat from behind.

There was no pause. No mercy.

Only survival... and destruction.

The land itself could not endure the battle. Buildings collapsed one after another, streets cracked open, and within minutes, the entire area turned into unrecognizable ruins.

But within this chaos... there was a hidden order.

Even though the Goblin Guild had made significant progress, they were facing a major problem

The Fallens.

They were the biggest variable in this war. Normal forces couldn’t deal with them, and even stronger fighters, if they tried to intervene, would be forced to face multiple Fallen at once, turning them into a serious headache.

Inside the guild’s private dimension, in a room that had been turned into a command center, a heavy silence ruled, broken only by incoming reports.

A massive map floated in the center of the room. Points of light representing troop positions constantly shifted... some disappearing.

Varnos stared at it coldly. Beside him stood Lana, her expression serious, none of her usual playfulness remaining.

"The western side is retreating," Aron’s voice was heard.

"But the east is making good progress."

"If this continues, we can maintain balance... for now," Sera said without taking her eyes off the data.

Lana placed her hand on the table.

"No. That’s not enough. They’re testing us."

The Goblin Guild had already faced Daniel’s Fallen during the ceremony, so they must have found a way to deal with them.

Unless they were arrogant enough to think they could win with brute force alone.

But she doubted that, especially since the Goblin Guild had already shown that everything they did came with a plan, full of tricks.

So how could they not have prepared for such a major variable?

Of course, the Fallen were only a variable in the early stages of the war.

The biggest variable in the entire war... was Daniel.

Something no one knew.

"Right... they haven’t committed their full power yet," Varnos nodded slowly.

A few seconds of silence.

"We’ll do the same." He raised his gaze.

All eyes turned toward him.

"Form a legion."

Silence.

"Half of Daniel’s Fallen... and half of our elite Awakened."

Darius grinned.

"Finally, a proper move."

"The target... the heart of the Goblin Guild," Varnos continued.

"You want to drag the war into their territory?" Lana’s eyes widened for a moment.

"Exactly."

His gaze turned colder.

"If we only defend, we’ll be crushed. We have to force them to split."

That wasn’t his only goal. He wanted those bastards’ territory to feel the war too. If they stayed untouched, their structure would never collapse.

There was no need for restraint in this war.

"It’s risky..." Sera said quietly. The Goblin Guild had extremely powerful arrays, and they weren’t sure they could break through easily.

"War is always like this."

"...Fine. I’ll lead the legion." Lana took a deep breath.

Varnos glanced at her briefly, but didn’t object.

"Deploy them."

At that moment, a portion of the forces separated on the map and began moving toward the Goblin Guild’s territory.

The war was no longer confined to a single point.

On the battlefield, the intensity increased.

Lines broke, reformed, and collapsed again.

No one could predict what would happen in the next few minutes.

But amid the chaos something changed.

Suddenly.

Silently.

On the Goblin Guild’s side, several special individuals stepped forward. In their hands, something began to form.

Mana. But not normal mana. Darke and heavier.

Varnos suddenly lifted his head, watching through the monitors.

A bad feeling hit him.

"...What—?"

But it was too late.

Light. A blinding light.

And then—

Silence.

For a moment, all sound vanished. And in the next instant, half of the points on the map... went dark.

At the same time, on the battlefield, hundreds, thousands of Everlight Moon Awakened collapsed instantly.

No screams. No chance to react. Their bodies fell motionless, their eyes empty.

Dead.

A horrifying silence spread across the battlefield. And then the screams began.

"What just—?!"

"What was that!?"

Inside the command room, no one spoke.

Lana’s eyes were wide. Her hand trembled.

"...Half..." her voice broke.

"Half of our forces..."

Varnos said nothing.

He only stared at the map.

And in his eyes... something like true rage began to burn.

Half of their forces had been wiped out in a single move.
