Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me-Chapter 676: A Double-edged Sword Situation
When Daniel arrived at the guild’s main building, he parked the car and sent a message to Sara. Before coming here, he had also called her to make sure she was actually here or not.
Fortunately, she was. It seemed that Lioren had not been discharged yet, and the guild’s specialist doctors were still examining his condition and status.
That was all he knew for now. Later, when he met Sara in person, he would definitely get more information about the boy’s condition.
He first headed toward the guild leadership office, where Lana was waiting for him. After knocking, he entered the office and saw Lana seemingly reviewing and reading various documents and files.
"Looks like desk work isn’t that easy either," Daniel laughed and sat down on the sofa.
"It’s awful. I really miss my father," Lana complained and put the documents and files aside for now.
"How is Naya doing? Is she better?"
"She’s much better. Since yesterday, she’s returned to her training and wants to reach the next rank as soon as possible so she can challenge the next floor of the tower."
"Oh? I thought she would decide to stay away from the guild and the tower for a while," Daniel raised his eyebrows slightly in surprise.
What Naya went through was not something normal. She was practically captured and taken hostage, and she personally witnessed the slaughter and death of many awakened members of the guild.
On top of all that, Naya was still young and had never experienced something like this in her life before. He thought that after such an experience, she would at least decide to stay away from all of this for a while.
"I thought so too, but it seems she sees what happened as the result of her weakness, and now she wants to become stronger," Lana nodded.
"Well, that was also one possible scenario. In any case, it’s better to keep an eye on her. I’m sure at least for now she’s extremely sensitive and needs someone to stay by her side."
Lana nodded again. Over the past few days, she had spent most of her time with her sister. That was actually the reason why her work had become more intense and put more pressure on her.
"How about your father? Any new news?"
"Nothing new. His release will happen according to the previous plan."
"That’s good. So what about the guild? How did things go? Did you do what I told you?" Daniel said, feeling that it was time to move the discussion to the main topic.
"I did. I said that those monsters came from our side. Just like you said, the reactions were split into two groups: fear and admiration," Lana paused slightly and then continued.
"The whole country is now both afraid of us and admires us. They had many questions about what those monsters really were, and I just said that they were creatures summoned by The Fallen."
"So in the end, I got involved in this too," Daniel laughed, but he didn’t blame her. The Fallen was his hidden identity, and it wasn’t a bad thing for it to help out in situations like this.
"Everyone asked whether The Fallen has joined our guild and why there are no more videos and so on... I had no choice but to say that you helped because we requested it, just like last time."
"But now everyone probably thinks you’re part of our guild, because almost all the top guilds have become cautious toward us. Even the government told us that we have to reveal your real identity to them," Lana added.
"Did you say anything?" Daniel asked calmly. He didn’t really care if his identity was exposed, but as much as possible, he preferred it not to happen yet—at least not until he became the strongest in the country.
"I asked them for three months. I said you’re currently not in the country, and that’s exactly why you didn’t come personally and instead sent those monsters."
"Good. Three months should be enough."
"Ugh, the guild is becoming more and more the center of attention. Now even the media in neighboring countries are talking about us," Lana complained.
"Isn’t that a good thing? This way we become more famous and more popular," Daniel laughed.
"It also increases the chance that they’ll see us as a threat and try to limit us or destroy us."
"Don’t worry. Once I reach rank S, there shouldn’t be any problems anymore. Trust me," Daniel added, then stood up and said goodbye for now.
"I’ll be heading back to the Celestial Domain soon, and I’ll probably be busy again for a while," he said before leaving.
"It feels like just yesterday that he joined the guild and needed the guild’s protection, but now the entire guild is relying on him," Lana murmured to herself as she watched him leave.
She even felt like she had said the same thing just a few days ago.
"Anyway, with him and grandfather, maybe our guild really can become the strongest in the country," a light of ambition flashed in her eyes.
Everyone naturally has their own ambitions, and she was no exception.
After leaving Lana’s office, Daniel went straight to the floor where the guild’s medical research department was located. He headed to Lioren’s room, knocked, and then entered.
Inside, he saw Sara sitting beside her unconscious brother.
"Has he gotten better?"
"Yes, he has. The doctors said they managed to remove whatever was controlling his mind from his brain. It seems it was some kind of parasite," Sara replied quietly.
"A parasite?" Daniel murmured to himself. Among his Fallen, there was also a parasite that could actually control minds.
Could it be a parasite from the same species?
"Now that I think about it, it’s been a long time since I asked about the condition of that parasite and that girl," he thought.
"That’s good. I hope he wakes up soon and becomes the Lioren we once knew again."
"Thank you," Sara said with a small smile, then looked at him.
"Did you come here for that question?"
"That’s right. I realized which question I want you to find the answer to," Daniel nodded.
Sara had a kind of innate ability that allowed her to find the answer to any question. However, she had to pay a price for every question, and the higher the value of the question in the eyes of the Mother System, the greater the price she had to pay.
"I want to know where my father is."
