Chapter 139: Honeymoon? No!

Vernon sat on the chair, facing the beach. He had a drink in his hands. He lay back and relaxed.

He took a sip and placed the glass on the table beside him. He took a deep breath.

This is relaxing.

Whatever Helena had gone through in the last month, he had gone through as well. Maybe a couple of them were altered a bit, but he was involved in every single one of them.

So as much as Helena relaxed under this cool yet gentle breeze, he did as well.

They are not on their honeymoon. They were on their vacation.

The only difference was that they weren’t in the same room.

Helena was in a room located at the south end of the hotel, while Vernon was in the North end.

The entire island had only one hotel. It almost covered the entire beach line. So the south end and the north end of the hotel also meant the south end and the north end of the entire island as well.

After relaxing for a while, both of them left their respective rooms to go to the restaurant for lunch.

While finding their seats, they crossed their paths. But neither of them looked at each other. They acted as if they were strangers whom they never met before.

So, during their honeymoon, the couple who should be enjoying each other’s company were now sitting at two different tables and having their lunch alone.

In the entire restaurant, only three tables were filled, of which the young couple were occupying two. The rest of the tables were still empty.

Just then, a bunch of young lads walked into the restaurant in a rowdy manner.

The silent restaurant turned chaotic in an instant as it was filled up with customers.

It was just a few young people coming to have fun. So no one thought much about them and continued eating. The waiters arrived and gave them menus to look at.

Most of them weren’t seated by then.

"Are there any more extra tables?" A young lad asked the waiter.

The waiter looked around the restaurant and found no unoccupied tables anymore. He looked troubled.

The young lad patted his shoulder, "Don’t worry."

The waiter blinked his eyes. ’Don’t worry? What are you going to do?’ He thought to himself but did not dare to say it out loud.

The young man did not care about his thoughts much and casually walked away from him. The waiter looked at him in worry. Looking at his carefree expression, he wondered if he would create any unnecessary problems for him. He wanted to stop him to deal with the matter himself but before he could even open his lips to speak, the young man had long walked away.

The young man walked directly to Helena and smiled, "Sister."

Helena raised her head to look at the young man. She found the face in front of him a bit familiar but couldn’t remember where she had seen him before.

"Yes?" She asked.

"Hehe. Sister. Do you mind joining that brother over there? We are short of a table. If you adjust for one meal, we all can sit together to eat. I can pay for your meal as compensation." Even though the young man looked a little rowdy, his manners and speech were decent.

Helena looked around and understood his problem. She smiled, "It’s okay. There is no need to pay for my meal. You can take my table."

She looked at the waiter, who just followed behind him in a hurry and smiled, "Can you please help me carry my dishes to that table?"

The waiter hurriedly thanked her and took a deep breath in relief as he helped her carry the dishes to another table.

"Thank you, sister." The young man smiled brightly and his voice was very loud.

Helena chuckled and waved her hand.

"Sister, my name is Marvin. Nice to meet you." He introduced himself as he realized he had completely forgotten that before asking for help.

Helena smiled and shook his hand. "Hello. My name is Lena. Nice to meet you."

She did not tell her real name. Since she felt his features familiar, it was clear that they are from the same circle, even though she couldn’t remember him. Her name was famous to begin with. After her wedding with Vernon, her name became even more famous in the last few days. So, saying her name is like giving her identity away.

Helena then walked to Vernon’s table and smiled, "Hi. Do you mind sharing a table with me?"

Vernon had long observed Helena’s interaction with the young man. So he understood the matter already and smiled.

"What would you do if I said no?" He asked with a cheeky smile.

Helena sighed and lightly pouted, "What could I do? I could only take my food and eat it in my room." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

With the way she said, it looked like someone was forcing her to lock her in her room and she is the loneliest person in the world.

Vernon’s lips twitched.

Before he could say a word, Marvin came to them, "Sister. You don’t have to go into your room to eat. How lonely would that be? If this man wouldn’t let you share the table, you can just join us."

Helena chuckled when she saw Vernon’s face darken. Before she could say a word, Vernon said, "When did I say she couldn’t sit here? Miss, please take a seat. I was just asking as a joke. Please don’t mind my words."

Helena looked at Marvin and smiled, "You don’t have to worry about me. You go and have fun with your friends."

"Are you sure?" Marvin asked as he looked at Vernon in doubt as if as soon as he left, Vernon would bully Helena behind his back.

He was doubtful of Vernon because he had a reason. Vernon was wearing a mask. Which man would wear a mask while eating? It was clearly suspicious.
