Chapter 37 - 37: Selling Cores, No Information and Teleportation Stone

Hours passed inside the [Spirit Cemetery] as Karl waited for his real-life body to rest.

This was one of the few advantages of his ability, his actual body needed sleep, but his consciousness could remain active.

It gave him about six to eight extra hours to think, plan, and reflect while his physical self recovered.

And so, during that time, Karl focused on what he needed to do tomorrow.

His last day before heading to [Starlight Academy].

'I should sell those cores I found.'

Gold Coins weren't the same as Credits, the latter had to be earned directly within [Starlight Academy].

There was no direct exchange between the two currencies; otherwise, a rich person could just buy their way to success.

Nope, if you wanted Credits, you had to work for them.

That was actually an advantage for Karl, who was practically broke.

With a clear idea of what needed to be done, he shifted his attention back to his surroundings.

Enough time had passed, and it was time to wake up.

But before leaving the [Spirit Cemetery], Karl took a moment to observe his spirits.

The sight before him was... unusual.

Since all his spirits could roam freely within this space, they had started interacting with one another in interesting ways.

At the center of the cemetery, the [Demonized Bear] and [Frenzied Rabbit] were putting on a show.

They were reenacting their fight from the third trial's final wave.

The [Demonized Bear] positioned itself horizontally, acting as a platform.

Then, the [Frenzied Rabbit] dashed forward, using the bear's body as a springboard before slashing downward, creating a powerful effect in the air.

The other spirits watched attentively.

Some nodded in approval, while others clapped in amusement.

Then, as if inspired, they all started trying to copy the movement.

Most of them failed.

Even the [Sovereign Wolf], the biggest and strongest of them all, seemed tempted to try.

But the moment it took a step forward, the other spirits stopped it, probably fearing for the [Demonized Bear]'s life.

Karl grinned at their antics, but he had things to do.

He clapped both his cheeks to focus, then stood up.

"Alright!" he called out, gaining the attention of all his spirits.

"I'll go handle some business outside."

They all nodded in acknowledgment.

Karl closed his eyes and muttered, "Spirit Cemetery."

...

Back in the Real World

Karl's eyes snapped open, greeted by the familiar sight of his small apartment.

He felt refreshed.

His body was back to normal after a full rest.

Checking his phone, he saw that it was already 12:00 PM.

He had slept longer than expected, but that wasn't a problem.

His only task today was to sell the cores he had collected.

Stretching briefly, he grabbed some clothes from his closet, threw them on, and ate a quick breakfast before heading out.

This world made things convenient for Awakeners.

Everyone had an inventory, a personal storage space that allowed them to carry things without physically holding them.

However, it came with restrictions.

Only items and equipment related to Awakeners could be stored inside.

Phones, wallets, and everyday essentials? Those had to be carried the normal way.

As an Awakener's rank increased, their inventory size grew, along with additional perks linked to their evolution.

The very first rank was [Awakened], which everyone received upon obtaining their Profession.

The ranks beyond that... were something Karl would think about later.

For now, he had a market to visit.

Karl reached the bustling market district not long after.

He didn't bother with any of the high-end stores.

Those places were too much of a hassle, requiring negotiations and unnecessary small talk.

Instead, he went straight to a small shop named [Core Buyers].

A simple, no-nonsense place.

He stepped inside, heading directly to the self-service appraisal machine.

Without needing to talk to anyone, he took out the [Frost Wolf Core] and [Hell-Level Goblin King Core], placing them into the scanning device.

Immediately, the screen lit up with results:

[Frost Wolf Core] – 200 Gold Coins

[Hell-Level Goblin King Core] – 500 Gold Coins

Not much, but enough to afford food for a few days.

With a small beep, the money was instantly transferred to his virtual balance.

[Balance: 1,375 Gold Coins]

A meager amount as Karl was broke, but at least he had taken care of everything he needed to do.

There was nothing else on his to-do list.

Which meant... he had the rest of the day to himself.

Tomorrow, at 7:00 AM, he would have to use the [Teleportation Stone] to travel to [Starlight Academy].

Since there was nothing urgent left, Karl spent the rest of the day browsing forums related to the Academy.

There wasn't much useful information, even from students, teachers, or journalists.

The one thing that stood out was the sheer size of the Academy.

It wasn't just a school, it was practically an entire city.

Spanning dozens upon dozens of kilometers, it had everything a student could need to grow stronger.

That was why people from all over the world aimed to get in.

That was why only the best survived.

Of course, with such opportunities came extreme risks.

The chances of death and the overwhelming difficulty were well-documented.

For someone like Karl, who relied mainly on his spirits rather than his own physical strength, it would be even harder.

But that didn't mean he wouldn't try to come out on top.

Training his own body was necessary.

And the best place to do that... was the [Tower of Trials].

But speaking about the [Tower of Trials], even when Karl tried to type in "Tower of Trial Floors" on the internet...

Beep!

[You aren't allowed to see the floors that you haven't explored yet.]

"Huh."

He could only see information about the [Novice Trial] and [First Floor].

When he tried to type [Second Floor] or anything else in his search bar, it only came out as no results.

He didn't know why and how such a thing was in place, but he quickly moved on.

For now, Karl allowed himself a moment of calm.

...

The day passed quickly, and Karl went to sleep early.

When he woke up the next morning, it was 6:30 AM.

He got dressed, prepared himself, and waited.

At exactly 7:00 AM, a notification popped up in his vision.

[Teleportation Stone is now active.]

[A uniform will be provided upon arrival. Additional details will be revealed later.]

Karl read the message without much thought.

Not like he had many belongings to begin with.

His spirits stirred within the [Spirit Cemetery], sensing his anticipation.

They were just as eager and anxious as he was.

Taking a deep breath, Karl grabbed the [Teleportation Stone], channeling his mana into it.

Then—

CRACK!

The stone shattered, and instantly, Karl felt an overwhelming pull, as if space itself was folding around him.

A wave of dizziness hit him.

For twenty seconds, he was suspended in that strange, weightless state.

And then...

THUD!

He landed on solid ground.

As Karl lifted his gaze, the towering structures, endless training fields, and countless students around him left no doubt.

He had arrived.

He was now at [Starlight Academy].

Ding!

[The Entrance Ceremony will begin shortly. Please prepare accordingly.]

Karl exhaled.
