Astral Flower-Chapter 556: Tears
Outside the tents, Feng Yu Hua was leaning against the same tree that Qing Shu Lian leaned on not long ago.
She was waiting for the operation to be finished.
It was still dark but dawn was coming soon, which meant that they would change shift and the soldiers who were in charge for the night search will rest. The other students would also wake up soon.
’Will it be successful?’
Feng Yu Hua trusted Nan Hua, but it would be a lie to say that she was not worried at all. No matter what, there will always be risk in doing this kind of operation. Her was successful just now but it didn’t mean that they would always be successful.
She leaned on the tree behind her, mulling over herself.
It felt weird not to have anything that restricted her anymore. Even if she consciously knew that she could say anything and do anything she wanted, her body still unconsciously followed the same habit she had cultivated over the years.
These habits wouldn’t be so easy to change.
As Feng Yu Hua was waiting, the cloth on the tent opened and Qing Shu Lian walked outside. His expression was a bit dazed, but when he saw Feng Yu Hua, his eyes focused and he smiled.
Feng Yu Hua smiled back. "It’s a success."
"Yeah." Qing Shu Lian nodded and then blinked his eyes. "You’re crying."
"Huh?" Feng Yu Hua was stunned and then raised her hand to her face. She felt her hand wet, yet she herself didn’t even realize that she was actually crying.
"This... I..."
Feng Yu Hua was flustered. She didn’t think that she would suddenly cry like this. After all, she had learned how to restrain her emotions and all, which made rarely lost control over her emotions.
But just now, she felt immense relief when she saw Qing Shu Lian. Added with the fact that she had known that it was fine for her to have up and down emotions, her body just subconsciously released the tears for her.
A way for her to vent all her repressed emotions over the years.
Qing Shu Lian didn’t wait for Feng Yu Hua to finish her words and pulled her to his embrace. The two of them were of similar height, so Feng Yu Hua’s head was on his shoulder as he patted her back.
"It’s fine," Qing Shu Lian whispered in a low voice.
And it was precisely this sentence that lead Feng Yu Hua’s tears to pour down uncontrollably. She held one hand to her mouth, preventing her from crying out loud and muffled it all with her hand.
Tears continued to pour down.
Her shoulders shook and Qing Shu Lian continued to pat her back, his own eyes were red, but he didn’t cry.
He knew very well how much pressure and depression they had felt over the years. Having the shadow of death lingering over their death and being forced to do things they actually didn’t want to do if they wanted to stay alive.
Many of them couldn’t stand those pressure and chose to end their own lives.
Qing Shu Lian was lucky enough to live beside his parents. He didn’t have to undergo the training that these young children had to suffer. But because of his various missions, he had come into contact with them.
So he knew that they were all living very badly.
A fake smile on their face.
An indifferent attitude to hide their real emotions.
The silent gesture to finish their missions without caring for others.
They all knew very well that the moment they have feelings, it would be the moment they would be taken advantage of. So not a single one of them dared to step outside their mission and always do things in accordance to the way they were trained over the years.
Time passed quietly.
Feng Yu Hua calmed down overtime, but tears were still pouring out from her eyes. She tried her best to stop, yet she didn’t seem to be able to do that. All she could do was to close her mouth with her hand to stop her from making any sound.
The tent opened and Tang Si Qin walked out.
He blinked his eyes when he saw the scene in front of him and then looked at the sky to see that the sun was rising from the east before turning his eyes back to the two people in front of him.
"I don’t know you have this kind of relationship. Sorry for disturbing you, but you can’t stay here any longer."
"We’re not!" Feng Yu Hua retorted and released herself from Qing Shu Lian’s embrace. Her voice was a bit hoarse after crying so much and she used her other hand to wipe the remaining tears on her face.
Qing Shu Lian only looked at Feng Yu Hua and then turned to look at Tang Si Qin. "That kind of relationship can’t happen, you know."
"Well, now that you’re ’free’ you know very well that it doesn’t really matter." Tang Si Qin shrugged.
Without them having to care about what the organization had to say to them, there was no point in holding back their emotions if they ever had one.
"He’s my friend," Feng Yu Hua explained as she had wiped her tears. She looked at Tang Si Qin and narrowed her eyes. "Did you also finish your operation?"
Tang Si Qin didn’t answer as he showed a smile. "We’ll talk later. I’ll be called for work soon and Boss will want to explain everything to you later."
Feng Yu Hua keenly noticed that Tang Si Qin’s tone was more relaxed than before.
At this time, Nan Hua came out from the tent and looked at the three of them. She noticed the red eyes on Feng Yu Hua and Qing Shu Lian’s face.
"There’s a small hill nearby, you can go there and calm down before everyone are called for breakfast," Nan Hua said.
