Heaven Smelting Lord followed suit, saying, "I withdraw as well."

The withdrawal of the two titans of the auction left Mi Ling as the sole participant.

"Four billion going once."

The tension in the air was palpable as everyone waited with bated breath.

"Twice..."

Silence descended upon the hall.

Just as the auctioneer was about to utter the final words, a clear voice echoed from the void.

"Five billion."

The eyes of the entire crowd snapped towards the source of the voice, but strangely they couldn’t able to detect it.

The Pavilion Head frowned even he couldn’t detect the source of the voice let alone the other Void Return Realm experts, a hint of displeasure crossing his features.

"Who is it that dares to interrupt the auction in such a manner?"

Silence hung in the air as no one dared to answer.

"If you are not going to reveal yourself, then I will be forced to disqualify your bid," the Pavilion Head threatened.

Again, there was no response.

Just when the Pavilion Head was about to give the order, the voice spoke again.

"Very well. I will reveal myself."

With a soft thud, a figure appeared near the stage.

It was a young man dressed in simple robes. His face was ordinary, and his eyes were a deep black. He had an air of quiet confidence about him.

"Who are you?" the Pavilion Head asked, his voice laced with suspicion, he could feel the aura of this young looking man clearly, he was just mortal.

The young man smiled faintly. "My name is Lin Xuan. I am here to purchase the Heaven Defying Beast’s eye."

A wave of shock swept through the crowd. No one had heard of this Lin Xuan before. Where had he come from?

This person clearly a mortal, but the way he appeared was indicating otherwise even the Pavilion Head with having control over the countless arrays and formations around the hall couldn’t detect his presence.

"Do you have the means to pay for such a valuable item?" the Pavilion Head asked skeptically.

Lin Xuan nodded. "I do."

With a flick of his wrist, he produced a golden card and tossed it to the Pavilion Head.

The Pavilion Head caught the card and examined it closely. His eyes widened in surprise.

"This is a... Origin Jade Card " he inwardly exclaimed.

"I apologize for my earlier rudeness," the Pavilion Head said, his tone now respectful. "Please, continue with your bid."

Who is this person? Many thoughts flickered in the eyes of the gathered experts, the way that the Pavilion Head addressed this mortal was even mote respectful than him addressing a void return realm expert.

Lin Xuan nodded and turned to face the crowd and repeated smugly "Five billion."

The crowd fell silent once more. No one dared to challenge his bid.

"Five billion going once."

"Twice..."

The tension in the air was almost unbearable.

Just as the Pavilion Head was about to utter the final words, a faint voice echoed from the second floor.

"Six billion."

All eyes turned towards the source of the voice with astonishment.

It was Mi Ling again.

"Let’s see your limit, "She is determined to obtain this mysterious eye.

On the third floor Star Wondering Daoist drew a sharp breath," Mi Ling what are you doing?"

Weaker cultivators couldn’t recognise the golden jade card but he on the other hand knows, and he is sure that Mi Ling could also recognise it.

Lin Xuan, the unassuming mortal, studied Mi Ling with intrigue. He hadn’t anticipated anyone would dare to contend with him.

"Little lady, I advise you to reconsider," Lin Xuan stated coolly. Although his voice was low, it resonated throughout the hall, audible to all the experts present.

Mi Ling’s brow furrowed slightly. It seems he can perceive my concealment technique, she thought, momentarily losing her composure as she stepped out of the room.

"Seven billion." Without sparing Lin Xuan a glance, she raised the bid.

Silence enveloped the hall; no one dared to speak, even the Pavilion Head appeared taken aback. The young miss of the Starry Sky Alliance had recognized Lin Xuan’s identity, yet she still chose to oppose him!

Lin Xuan couldn’t help but smile, his interest in Mi Ling intensifying. "You’re aware of who I am, aren’t you?"

With a cold gaze, Mi Ling acknowledged him with a nod.

"Then, may I ask," Lin Xuan’s tone shifted to a serious note, "why are you opposing me?"

"Origin Heaven Emissary or not, I couldn’t care less," Mi Ling’s frosty voice pierced through the hall.

"Origin Heaven Emissary?" Confusion rippled among the onlookers. What sort of title is that?

The experts from the Void Return realm, however, remained unfazed. They exchanged glances with intrigue at Mi Ling’s fearless stance.

Is this mysterious eye truly worth offending a Heaven Emissary?

"Starry Sky Alliance is too arrogant. You dare to defy an Emissary?" A mocking laugh echoed from the third floor.

"Long Ning?" Star Wondering Daoist’s expression darkened. He understood Long Ning’s intentions but felt powerless to intervene. To oppose Mi Ling now would embarrass the Alliance.

With a resigned shake of his head and a bitter smile, he resolved to remain a silent observer.

Mi Ling’s eyes narrowed at Long Ning’s words. "Arrogance? It would seem the Mortal Ascension Legion has declined, to the point of becoming mere lapdogs for others."

Long Ning’s eyes flashed with anger. "How dare you !"

He leapt from his seat and descended onto the second floor. His aura flared with murderous intent.

"It seems like you are seaking death."

Lin Xuan met Long Ning’s gaze unflinchingly. "Do you even have the courage to ?"

"Stop it!"

A voice filled with authority reverberated through the hall.

Everyone turned to see the Pavilion Head standing between Mi Ling and Long Ning.

"This is an auction, not a battlefield," he said firmly. "If you want to fight, take it outside."

Long Ning’s eyes flickered with hesitation, with a huff, he turned around and stormed out of the hall.

Mi Ling watched him go, a cold smile on her face.

The Pavilion Head nodded. "Now, let us continue the auction."

He turned to Lin Xuan. "Sir Emissary, your bid."

Lin Xuan nodded. "Nine billion."

Mi Ling’s complexion turned deathly pale. She had never anticipated Lin Xuan to possess such unimaginable wealth—nine billion crystals? She doubted that even a realm lord could accumulate such an astronomical sum. With no more options remaining, she let out a resigned sigh within the depths of her heart.

"If you want it that much, then it’s yours," Mi Ling

The Pavilion Head looked at Lin Xuan. "Congratulations, Sir Emissary. You have won the Heaven Defying Beast’s eye."

"Thank you," Lin Xuan said with a slight nod. "However, I do not currently have such a large amount of crystals on hand."

A chuckle escaped the Pavilion Head’s lips. "Emissary, there is no need to be concerned. This eye is on the house."

Lin Xuan raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

"Of course," the Pavilion Head replied with a smile. "We are honored to have had the opportunity to host you, Emissary. Consider this a small token of our appreciation."

Lin Xuan hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Very well. I will not decline your generosity."

Lin Xuan received the case and carefully opened it.

Nestled amidst silken cloth lay a crystalline eye. After examining it, he tucked it away securely.

The Pavilion Head watched with eager anticipation. "Emissary, is there anything further you require?"

Lin Xuan shook his head. "That concludes my visit."

With those words, he turned and began to walk away. Moments later, he vanished into thin air, his departure as mysterious as his arrival.
