Chapter 3: Isn't this worse than us ghosts?

The arrangement of desks and chairs in the classroom was quite interesting.

There were four rows in total, each row seating three people.

Apparently, it was intentional for them, the chosen ones, to all sit in the center, with two ghosts on either side.

Alexander was no exception, with ghosts from the Blood Moon instance sitting to his left and right.

The ghost on the right didn't have any particular features, just a head of yellow hair and a rebellious air.

The ghost on the left wore glasses, looking like a weak but scholarly student.

However, as soon as he entered the classroom, the whole room quieted down, and anyone could see that he was not simple.

It seemed that all the ghosts were afraid of him.

The yellow-haired delinquent returned to his seat and turned his head to look at Alexander with a creepy smile.

The bespectacled top student glanced at him, and the delinquent immediately shrank his neck and stopped smiling.

However, his eyes were still greedily fixed on Alexander, occasionally sticking out his exceptionally crimson tongue to lick the corner of his lips.

Seeing these two troublesome characters sandwiching Alexander, the other chosen ones felt a mix of relief, sympathy, and even schadenfreude.

Only Alexander felt somewhat tearful.

He was so unlucky!

On the right was a delinquent ghost, and on the left was a seemingly quiet and scholarly ghost who was feared by all the other ghosts.

It was as if he had left the house without checking his fortune!

Glancing at his own panel, he quietly activated his talent.

Although he didn't know what use it would be, it was better than having nothing!

As his talent was activated, Alexander's vision suddenly changed.

Above the heads of both the ghosts and the chosen ones, faint red numbers appeared.

The delinquent and most ghosts had either -1 or 0, while most of the chosen ones had 0 or 1, with only two of them having -1 above their heads.

What were these numbers for? Levels? It didn't seem like it!

As Alexander puzzled, he heard a "plop" sound by his ear and looked down to see a ballpoint pen had fallen to the floor.

With his head full of confusion, Alexander didn't think much about it, bent down to pick up the pen, and handed it to the top student.

Alexander's action immediately startled the chosen ones present.

After all, whether it was the information they had received about the horror instances before or the recent warning from the "expert" player.

In the instance world, it was best to stay as far away from ghosts as possible and not have any interaction with them.

After all, you were food in their eyes, and not just any food, but extremely delicious food. Even if you approached them to please them, you would not be met with friendship and gratitude.

Once your deliciousness was noticed, the outcome was obvious, right?

It wasn't until Alexander had handed the pen to the top student that he realized his mistake, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.

Fortunately, the top student just glanced at him and silently took the ballpoint pen.

Alexander breathed a sigh of relief, feeling lucky that it wasn't a trap, and suddenly his eyes widened.

He saw the number 0 above the top student's head jump and change to 1.

Could it be that these numbers represented favorability?

He turned his head to look at the delinquent ghost.

"What are you looking at!" The delinquent ghost glared fiercely at Alexander, and the number above his head suddenly jumped, changing to -3.

It was indeed favorability, and when it turned negative, it meant they had developed hostility towards him. Once the number reached a certain level, these ghosts would probably make their move.

Stomp! Stomp! Stomp!

Just as Alexander was rapidly analyzing the situation, a series of footsteps approached.

Looking towards the door, the first thing that caught his eye was a slender, smooth, and beautiful white leg, adorned with a pair of eye-catching red high heels.

The woman's lower body was clad in a tight black mini skirt, and her upper body in a white short-sleeved t-shirt. She had exquisite and enchanting facial features and a stunning figure. She walked in, holding a ruler in her hand.

In an instant, everyone's eyes in the room were glued to her.

Even the girls couldn't resist her charm, let alone the boys.

The enchanting young woman paused slightly, her beautiful eyes fixing on a male ghost closest to her. She flashed an enchanting smile and seemed to feel hot, so she pinched her collar with her slender fingers and lifted it.

"What are you looking at?"

Her soft, enchanting voice echoed in their ears.

"I..." The ghost suddenly reacted.

This was a horror space after all!

Immediately, cold sweat poured down his forehead like rain.

"Ah!!"

With a scream, the young woman retracted her hand and stuffed something into her mouth, chewing vigorously, mumbling:

"This bursting sensation, truly an unparalleled delicacy!"

Under the trembling gazes of the disciples, the young woman slowly walked to the podium and asked:

"Have you all completed the tasks assigned yesterday? If not, the punishment will be severe!"

Tasks?

The dozen chosen ones were shocked, and Alexander hurriedly flipped through the drawer.

Fortunately, it seemed the horror world didn't want to make things difficult for them; there was a notebook right on top of the drawer.

Everyone, including Alexander, breathed a sigh of relief.

"Tea...teacher..." A disciple nervously stood up, cautiously saying:

"I forgot to bring my task."

Slap!

The female teacher swung her ruler and hit him hard...

"Classmate, lend me your notebook!"

In front of Alexander, a ghost student who hadn't completed the task looked at him in panic.

That was a middle-aged man in his forties who shook his head when he heard the ghost student's request. Seeing the consequences of not having a task to submit, he didn't dare to lend it. freew ebnovel.com

"You're not giving me any face, fellow disciple!"

The ghost student's face changed abruptly, his body enveloped in black mist, and his facial features twisted into a monstrous visage, his mouth wide open.

Immediately, screams of terror erupted.

The first chosen one met his demise!

That wasn't the end; after biting the middle-aged man to death, the ghost student placed the man's notebook on his own desk.

Witnessing this, the other ghost students who hadn't done their homework seemed inspired, and they all turned to their neighbors.

Out of the 20 chosen ones, nine were targeted by the ghosts next to them.

The female teacher calmly started collecting notebooks from the rightmost row. Anyone who didn't submit one received a strike from her ruler.

Those with good luck suffered from torn flesh, while those with bad luck had their entire arm turned into a bloody mist.

Half of the chosen ones, including Alexander, faced the same predicament as the middle-aged man.

"Classmate, lend me your task notebook!"

he delinquent ghost smirked at Alexander, as if he would swallow Alexander's head if he refused.

Alexander looked up and, according to the order in which the notebooks were being collected, he would be the third. However, the two behind him were fortunate enough not to encounter any ghost students asking to borrow their notebooks.

Evidently, he would be the last unlucky one.

One after another, the others reluctantly lent their notebooks.

After all, getting hit with a ruler might cost an arm at worst.

But refusing to lend the notebook would mean losing their heads!

"Friend, lend me your notebook!"

The delinquent ghost impatiently urged as the number above his head changed from -3 to -7.

He probably wouldn't be able to hold back much longer!

Cold sweat dripped from Alexander's forehead as his brain raced.

Should he choose to lose his head or his hand? Was there really a choice to make?

However, he was still somewhat unwilling to give in. After all, he wasn't a ghost. It might be possible for him to recover a severed arm, but that would require a powerful ghostly entity. 𝓯𝒓𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝒃𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Without an arm, it would be uncertain whether he could even get out of this instance, let alone find a ghostly entity.

His gaze swept across the room as the number above the delinquent ghost's head changed to -9.

Some of the chosen ones had already foreseen Alexander's fate; some shook their heads and sighed, some gloated, and two young girls covered their eyes, unable to watch any longer.

"You're not giving me any face, fellow disciple!"

The delinquent ghost's voice came through, his body shrouded in black mist, and his facial features began to twist, clearly ready to take action.

Just then, Alexander suddenly turned around and pushed the top student wearing glasses, who was engrossed in a book.

The bespectacled student looked up at Alexander, puzzled.

"Friend, he's been asking to borrow your notebook for a while, but you haven't responded. He's getting angry!"

The bespectacled student looked up and saw the monstrous, bloodthirsty mouth of the delinquent ghost.

Instantly, blood-red pupils emerged from behind his glasses.

Rolling black smoke, carrying a horrifying and chilling aura, quickly filled the entire room.
