Arranged marriage to the princess of the Red Scorpions-Chapter 366 For The Sake Of His Men
She couldn't have the time to deal with this on top of everything else, could she? Lena ran a She would be cutting it all off when she had a chancehand through her hair. Damn it. She cursed under her breath when her fingers got tangled in a knot. The moment she had a chance, she would be cutting it all off. Damn anyone who said she'd look better keeping it the way it was. Circumstances such as the one at hand left her with little time to care about her hair.
"Hester. I asked you to take care of one matter for me. What are we still waiting on?" Lena crossed her legs as she sat waiting in the chair. The hospital had been willing to give up one of their meeting rooms for the mafia. Not without a little bit of a huffy argument. They didn't seem to understand the severity of the situation they were in until she contacted the director. The man had been fortunate thus far that Lena had too many other matters to handle at the current moment in time.
"Lena, Princess. We have handled everything how you asked us to. Right now, we are stuck waiting for the first call to be made." Hester explained as he nervously tapped away on his computer. He needed to do something that kept him from having to make eye contact with the Princess. No one wanted catch her gaze the current moment in time out of fear of angering her.
"I already know that. I'm asking you why they haven't gotten back to you yet if you explained how urgent this situation was." Should she have just taken care of calling on them herself? Had matters moved to such a point that no one respected the men who represented her. Heads would roll if they were made to wait much longer. Please visit 𝗳𝚛𝐞𝘦wℯ𝚋𝓷o𝚟el. 𝐜𝘰𝒎
"If I were to hazard a guess, I would believe it's due to the channels we need to take. Without direct contact, these sorts of matters can take longer. If you want, I can go about patching through the system in a different way?" One of the other men, John spoke up. The tooth pick in his mouth made and audible snap before he spit it across the floor.
"Hester, isn't there a different route that we can take from this? You used the far back one but surely we can touch one a little closer?" John held out his tablet for the other man to look at it. Hester's eyes scanned quickly over data presented to him as Lena leaned forward to try and catch a look.
"I apologize Princess, this would be better keep between us until we decide on how to move forward." John pulled the device away after Hester gave him the go-ahead. Better kept between them? Lena was the one who should have been making the calls, not them.

Hester intervened before the Princess could speak. The last thing the situation needed was unnecessary fuel being added to the fire. How he wished that she'd been willing to have Julian there as well. Her Uncle would at least be able tohelp keep the heat off of them for the time being. Something that no one else in the room had managed to do thus far.
In fact, with each passing second, the room's tension continued to build. Lena remained completely unaware or far too indifferent to notice. At least Hester assumed as much based on how she didn't even try to shift her body language to help his men relax. The generally considerate Princess everyone respected was being eaten away at by the terrible mood that only seemed to further consume her with each passing out. Not that anyone could blame her with the current situation.
Still… Hester would be being remiss in his role if he didn't at least bring it up to Lena. For the sake of his men, he had to be the one to do it.
"Princess, could we take a moment to step outside and speak?" Hester motioned for the men to remain as they were as he stood up. Lena gave the techy a level gaze. One that he had a hard time returning with the current dangerous aura surrounding her.
"Is it something that we cannot speak about here? I would rather remain in place until we have answers for what is going to be taking place." She'd long forgotten about needing to refill her pipe as her impatience for answers consumed her mind. She didn't need her own main failing her the same way that the doctors had been doing thus far. One last strike would be all it would take for everything to turn to hell. The kind of hell that Lena would be in the center of.
"I think that it would be better for us to take a moment to step outside." Hester swallowed thickly as he motioned towards the door. He'd feel far safer if the little demon stepped outside ahead of time. She complied with his request albeit in a rather begrudging manner. Her feet hit the floor rather roughly as she stood up and headed towards the door to leave the meeting room. Hester followed closely behind, leaving enough space between them as not to crowd her when she opened the meeting room door. Unexpectedly, Lena hardly stepped through the door, disappearing from sight as the door almost slammed into Hester's face when it unexpectedly closed from the outside of the room. Surely Lena hadn't been the one to do that?
"Princess?" Hester's attempt to open the door failed as the handle refused to twist one way or another. He slammed his body against it to no avail. The thing wouldn't budge even with this full weight.
That could never be a good sign in any situation.
