Armipotent-Chapter 1889: Hunting The King of Beast!
Chapter 1889: Hunting The King of Beast!
Akumbo already predicted it, the people in the village were laughing at him when he was back, drenching in sweat and wobbling as he made his way to the village hall. He ignored the people who laughed at him and guided the player. When he was about to fall, the player caught him in the neck and carried him.
It was embarrassing for sure, but he was comfortable enough for him to forget the embarrassment. He was dead tired, and he felt like throwing himself on the bed right away. However, he still had a duty to fulfill, filling the report about the player for the Elder and Chief Moussa.
As usual, two guards were standing at the entrance of the village hall. They looked displeased with how the player carried him. Maybe they thought the player treated him unfairly or hurt him, but he immediately waved his hand at the two guards.
"It’s fine. I am just dead tired, and Sir..." Akumbo furrowed his brow, realizing that he did not know the player’s name. The player never said his name.
"I am out, and he is helping me, that’s all. Is Chief Moussa inside?"
Despite the two guards’ suspicion, they nodded in response and let them in. Chief Moussa was still sitting in his bone chair along with three white-haired elders. All four looked toward the entrance when they entered the hall, and the four had the same reaction as the two guards.
"I think I can walk on my own," Akumbo said, and the player released him. He was not ready for it and fell on his face. His teeth hit hard on the wooden floor. A chunk of wood stuck in his teeth, but he immediately got up.
This was not a formal meeting like before, so Akumbo immediately approached Chief Moussa and the three elders, filling them in on what happened during the hunting.
"It seems you like to receive an easy mission," One of the elders blurted before he could finish his words.
Akumbo’s expression crunched in pity for the elder. He did not want to embarrass the elder of his village, but he must remain truthful in his duty.
"He has hunted one hundred Legendary Rank Beasts, more than fifty Demi-God Rank Beasts, and we are returning for his last quest, Chief," He turned toward Chief Moussa.
Chief Moussa and the three elders were surprised to hear everything. They were surprised because of how fast the player hunted so many beasts in such a short time. It was not just any beast, but also a Demi-God Rank Beast. Chief Moussa caught the hint, of the last quest, and they had to return for the last quest.
"What’s the last quest?"
Akumbo swallowed a little bit of saliva. There was only so little because his mouth was dry, and this nervousness got to him as well, "His last quest is killing the King of Beast, Chief. And actually Chief, he finished the hunting four or maybe five hours ago. He had been looking for the King of the Beast for the last four to five hours, but we couldn’t find it."
"NO! YOU CAN’T!" One of the elders raised his voice, "We will not allow you to hunt the King of Beast! You will bring danger to our village!"
"Oh, I can and I must hunt the King of Beast if I want to go to the next floor, and you will not stop me from killing it," Tang Shaoyang shrugged.
"Don’t think of stopping me either because I will not hesitate to kill you if you do so."
Akumbo’s face paled at the threat. If it was before the hunting, he would get angry and would challenge the player to a duel. But he had seen the player hunting, how easily he disposed of a Demi-God Rank beast, effortlessly. Something that no one in their village could do. He had not seen Chief Moussa do it like this player hunting. He could not be sure about Chief Moussa being stronger than the player.
"Then you can hunt the King of the Beast on your own. We will not help you. The last thing we want is The King of Beast finding out your relation to our village!" The second elder responded. The three elders were in agreement not to let the player hunt the King of the Beast.
Chief Moussa glanced toward Akumbo and quickly noticed the fright on his hunter’s face. He checked Akumbo from top to bottom. The hunter was fine, with no wound, meaning the player did not hurt his hunter. So what made his hunter terrified of the player? The hunter had seen how the player was hunting the beast, and that was the most logical reason behind that terrified expression. It meant this player might be someone stronger for the hunter to fear the player than the hunter feared him.
"Trust me, you don’t want me to look for The King of Beast my way. It’s better if you tell me where it is and let me kill it instead," Tang Shaoyang kept his eyes locked on Chief Moussa. He knew that Chief Moussa was the one who made a decision here, not the three old men.
"I don’t understand, at all. Why are you protecting it?"
"We are not protecting The King of Beast, and it doesn’t need our protection. We are protecting the village from becoming its target," Chief Moussa answered, "And how are you going to look for the King of Beast on your own?"
"Easy. I will kill all the beasts in the forest. I will be taking his food away, and the beast eventually comes out when it can’t find food. Maybe he will come to this village since it knows this village’s location, and I will kill it here."
The three Elders sneered at Tang Shaoyang, clearly not taking his words seriously. Tang Shaoyang ignored the three old men but Chief Moussa. The latter glanced toward Akumbo, and the village chief found his answer in Akumbo’s expression. Akumbo was aware that he would be able to kill all the beasts.
"Or I can..." Tang Shaoyang flicked his finger and a black fire lit up in the tip of his index finger. He shot it down to the wooden floor. It quickly burned the wooden floor.
The three elders jumped out and took out their bows, aiming the arrow at Tang Shaoyang. Again, Chief Moussa stayed on his chair and looked down at the floor. The black fire did not spread out, only burning a small part of the floor before the fire died out, leaving a five centimeters hole.
"I have perfect control of my fire, and I will burn the forest until it comes out. But you don’t need to worry though, I will not burn your village, and you can trust me for the control."
Chief Moussa once more turned toward Akumbo, and the dark-skinned hunter’s mouth was gaped open. He was shocked that the player had more than one Elemental Power, and he could tell the black fire was no ordinary fire.
"You will not be able to do any of that if my arrow is in your head, right?" One of the elders said in a threatening tone. His eyes were determined, and he took just one word from Chief Moussa to release the arrow.
Tang Shaoyang smiled instead, and for the first time, they saw him smile. It was as if he challenged the elder to shoot. Chief Moussa’s heart jumped for a moment as he immediately reached the bow, lowering the bow before things went awry.
"Can’t you track the King of Beast normally? Does it have to be an extreme method?" Chief Moussa was still unwilling to give Tang Shaoyang any information about the King of Beast. However, he hoped for a middle ground where he could keep the forest as well as ensure his village’s safety.
"No. That’s the fastest way to find it, or you can tell where it is. I am not going to stay on this floor for another day."
Chief Moussa closed his eyes. He must consult the matter with The Elder, but he knew the Elder would not allow the player to look for the King of Beast. The beast was smart enough that it could connect the village to the player. However, he knew that he could not stop the player as well. He had a gut feeling the player would be able to raze his village. The black fire was enough proof that the player could raze their village easily.
"I will tell you where The King of Beast is, but I have one condition," He came to a decision to fight his fear instead of fighting the unknown player, "You have to let me join you to fight the King of Beast!"
The three Elders immediately turned toward Chief Moussa as they could not believe what they heard. They wanted to protest, but Chief Moussa dismissed them, shaking his head, "We have to face it eventually. I will help the player to kill The King of Beast!"
"Let’s change the condition. I will let you watch me kill it, not join!"
