Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy-Chapter 986: Connection
Chapter 986: Connection
The Demon Saint Horns...
Thick, jagged, spiraled items filled with corrupted, but divine energy.
Each was the broken tip of a once-living monster who stood at the pinnacle of demonic evolution. Or at the very least, they should just be below the existence of the Demon Gods.
These horns were mostly black with traces of scarlet energy embedded within, as though they were still flaming from the inside.
Even in this realm, such items weren’t easily found. After all, the Demon Saints in this Realm weren’t reckless. They weren’t underestimating the power of the residents of this realm. It was unlike their experience in the human realm, where they recklessly sent Demon Saints everywhere in the continent to fight.
For now, Vale just placed three of them on the counter, keeping the rest hidden.
He didn’t even bother with signage—just the raw presence of the Demon Saint Horns alone gave off a pressure that passersby couldn’t ignore.
The effect was instant.
People turned.
Practitioners of various Arcane Arts stopped mid-conversation as they suddenly sensed the unsuppressed presence of Corrupted Divinity.
There was no way this item wouldn’t attract attention, considering how many Grandmaster Arcanists, Half-Immortals, and Immortals are staying here.
A cloaked mage who was selling flamecrystal pebbles two stalls over had even dropped his wares to check out Vale’s store.
A group of hooded practitioners—each with serpentine tattoos on their arms—paused and glanced at Vale’s stall. They also started whispering among themselves as they couldn’t help but feel amazed by the presence of Corrupted Divinity from the Demon Saints’ horns.
Nonetheless, not everyone had a need for this horn. Even if they purchased it, they would only become decorations or subjects for research.
Only a few Practitioners had a genuine purpose for obtaining them.
Within seconds, a crowd started to gather.
"What kind of Demon Saint did these come from?"
"Are they authentic?"
"Wait... this patterning... That’s Abyssal lineage. Who the hell is this guy?"
Vale crossed his arms and maintained a calm, indifferent expression as several potential buyers inspected the horns from a distance.
One bold man stepped forward... With Vale’s Divine Sense, he failed to find out anything. It means that this Immortal was most likely at the upper level, or he had some sort of Artifact that could protect him from detection.
"These are real..." The old man muttered, barely hiding his surprise. "And not just any Demon Saint... These came from Greater Abyssal Demons. They’re also in perfect condition. Whoever dismantled the Demon Saint’s body was definitely a professional."
Gasps echoed around the stall.
Another buyer quickly spoke up. "I’ll offer 10 Divine Crystals for one!"
"Sorry. I will only accept Arcane Crystals." Vale immediately said, and this surprised everyone.
After all, precious items like the Demon Saint’s horn contained Divinity despite being corrupted.
No item with divinity could be purchased by Arcane Crystals. It was unthinkable. However, it seemed that the Immortal in front of them had different ideas. Or perhaps, he simply had too many of these Horns and he didn’t mind selling them for a dirt-cheap price!
Anyway, this wasn’t important right now.
A robed woman then offered a price. "300 Arcane Crystals!"
Then a fat, merchant-looking man pushed his way forward. "I represent the Obsidian Trade Association. We’ll offer 10,000 Arcane Crystals for all three."
Vale didn’t answer immediately. He simply tapped the table lightly, as if considering.
His voice was calm and even.
"That’s too low. These aren’t surface-tier demonic remains. These horns contain an essence that can be used in weapon reforging, barrier destruction, or even high-level sacrificial rites. Minimum starting bid—5,000 Arcane Crystals each. I don’t accept trading of other items except Arcane Crystals.
The crowd stirred with rising tension. Many of them didn’t bring enough Arcane Crystals and could only shake their heads.
Just like that, a few backed off, but others stayed. Their eyes were gleaming with interest.
Soon, a cloaked woman with twin rings made of Immortal Stones around pulled out a token, one representing a Shadow Sect Token.
"I’ll give you this and 20,000 Arcane Crystals for three horns. With this Token, you can assign the Shadow Sect a mission for free."
Vale wryly smiled as he had already said that he would only accept Arcane Crystals. Still, he decided not to speak anymore and waited for the others to make their offer.
Well, he was actually planning to accept at least 25,000 Arcane Crystals, but anyway, he planned to listen for now.
Anyway, the murmurs grew louder as Vale held his silence.
More offers poured in—some of them seemed desperate, but some were calculated. But he could still tell that the number would increase.
Thankfully, this bidding war didn’t last for long as a new figure emerged from the crowd.
A veiled woman clad in black and deep violet robes stepped forward.
’A Shadow Immortal like me... Interesting...’ Vale mused as he noticed a faint ripple of shadow trailing her steps, and her mere arrival made the lesser Immortals instinctively step aside. Behind her was the previous woman who tried to offer the Shadow Sect Token...
Indeed, this new figure was from the Shadow Sect once again.
At the very least, this woman was definitely a representative of the Sect and not just any member.
"Seventy-five thousand Arcane Crystals," She said flatly. Her voice was smooth as if she wasn’t taking a no.
Before Vale could speak, she continued.
"No barter. No delay. I’ll take all three."
A heavy silence fell across the area.
Even Vale raised an eyebrow slightly at how quickly the offer got beyond his expectations. He had expected the bidding to take some time, but this offer came directly and with full confidence.
"...Deal..." Vale said, his tone calm, hiding the surge of satisfaction in his chest.
The veiled woman nodded once.
With a flick of her sleeve, three small crystalline orbs floated toward Vale, each one containing a compressed sum of 25,000 Arcane Crystals.
’So there’s this kind of storage.’ Shane thought.
Vale received them with a subtle gesture of his palm, storing them instantly into his ring. In return, he gently handed over the three Demon Saint Horns, sealing the trade with a nod.
As she turned to leave, the veiled woman left a final comment that no one else heard. "Should you acquire more... the Shadow Sect is interested. Seek us through this."
She tossed him a black coin marked with a black fire insignia that pulsed faintly with Shadow Divinity.
Vale caught it and slid it into his ring without comment. But inwardly, he smirked.
’Not a bad connection.’
