Chapter 48: Chapter 43 Monstrous Zombie!_1
The sun gradually climbed from the east to the west, and another day passed.
In the room, sweat dripped into puddles, a robust figure stood rigidly on the floor.
[Tai Chi 24 Forms (Skill Familiar: 23%)]
A line of information flashed across the void in front of him, Li Ming’s eyes sparkled, he took a deep breath, a breath lingeringly profound.
“In two more days, my Tai Chi will break through.”
Satisfied, Li Ming ended the practice, wiped down his sweat in the bathroom, and enjoyed the meal that Zhang Yuan had prepared.
After the meal, as night fell, Zhang Yuan rose to rest, while Li Ming rested in the living room for a moment, waiting for Chen Li to knock on the door.
His eyes lit up as he went to open the door and saw her, his tongue darted over his lips.
Just as he anticipated, she obediently wore the same homemaking pajamas he had seen her in earlier.
The pajamas were plain, but they gave off an incredible feeling of domesticity!
The smile on Li Ming’s face made Chen Li a bit uncomfortable, but right after, she was whisked away to her doorstep.
“…”
One hour later.
Chen Li was barely able to gather up her pants, and then she was just too weak to refuse as Li Ming carried her to clean up in the bathroom.
“Oh, I talked with my mom, we packed up things at home, whenever you plan to leave, we hope to come with you.”
With a man to help her bathe, Chen Li could finally relax. Otherwise, it would have been difficult for her to wash with her total exhaustion. That’s when she recalled the daytime conversation with her mom and told Li Ming about it.
“Okay, in a few days I’ll go out and find a truck. You and your family can follow me in your own cars.”
At her words, Li Ming smiled and nodded, then dried Chen Li off with a clean soft cloth towel once she was clean. He carried her to her bedroom, planted a kiss on her, and bade her farewell under her watchful gaze.
After closing the door, he returned to his house and comfortably locked the front door. Li Ming finished training his mind power, had a satisfying gulp of water, then climbed into bed and cuddled up with Zhang Yuan.

………
The city was desolate, save for a few bustling entertainment districts, where diverse hordes of zombies gathered.
Many zombies stood out from the rest, towering among the horde like a crane among chickens. The average zombies held these special ones in high regard, granting them a respectful distance.
At one point, all the special zombies looked to the east in unison, as if sensing something.
In a dark residential building, suddenly, a window shattered. A horrifying eyeball attached to a long duct appeared in mid-air, stretching high above the residential building, peering into the east.
“Boom, boom…”
An oppressive presence gradually approached from the east, accompanied by a heavy booming sound.
A horror zombie as tall as a five-story building, covered in terrifyingly muscular flesh, took steps that could create large craters on the ground. Its pitch-black pupils were wide open, steadily advancing into the city.
“Boom…”
A car blocking its path was crushed into pieces with a casual stomp, the zombie moved as if it had just stepped on a piece of turf, calmly walking over the street.
In its wake were craters formed by its massive footsteps.
………
The blink of an eye, and it was the next day. Li Ming, once again, calmly practiced Tai Chi at home, successfully raising his Tai Chi mastery level.
[Tai Chi 24 Forms (Skill Familiar: 11%)]
“Tai Chi 24 Forms should reach a breakthrough by tomorrow. I wonder what changes will occur.”
Filled with anticipation, Li Ming spontaneously gave Chen Li the night off to avoid impacting his upcoming promotions.
From moonset to sunrise, and it was the morning of the next day in the blink of an eye.
The sun shone brightly.
Li Ming, who had risen early, was peacefully practicing his Qigong in the room, twice through in the blink of an eye.
Sitting down to rest a while on the chair, just as he was preparing to continue his practice, he was suddenly distracted by a tremble.
“Boom, boom…”
A dull vibration, like the footsteps of a giant nearing, distinctly transmitted from the floor to his entire body.
An inexplicable sense of tension seized his heart as he instinctively turned his gaze towards the source of the vibration, but his view was obstructed by a wall.
“What’s happening?”
Zhang Yuan, who was practicing yoga, was also startled by the sudden vibrations and quickly ran over to Li Ming and asked.
“I don’t know… this vibration, it feels… strange…”
Li Ming patted Zhang Yuan’s back for comfort, all the while furrowing his brow, trying to make sense of the slight trembling sensation.
“Huh huh huh…”
The zombies outside suddenly began to roar more fiercely. Zhang Yuan tensely stared at the cosmetics on the table, rhythmically quivering with the vibrations, bouncing across the tabletop.
“What the hell is going on…”
Li Ming’s brow furrowed, a sense of crisis emerging within him. He felt torn between going out to investigate and staying put, unsure of the risks. Pushing down his crisis instinct, he quickly put on his shoes and clothes, grabbing his spear and sword, ready for whatever may come.
Upon seeing this, Zhang Yuan snapped out of her daze, hurriedly pulling on her pants and white shoes. She slipped on a light white shirt and sat beside Li Ming, clutching his arm tightly, her face pale from the tension.
“Boom, boom…”
“Huh huh huh…”
The trampling noises and the zombies’ growls echoed around them relentlessly.
Once, twice…
Li Ming’s heart pounded like a pump, uncontrollably, matching the dreadful increasing volume of the trampling noises – louder and louder…
Li Ming felt like his eyes would burst, ready to flee the scenes in uncontrollable fear, when suddenly the footsteps veered off, gradually fading away.
“Boom, boom, boom…”
Step by step, the terrifying footsteps gradually receded. Li Ming’s tense body involuntarily relaxed a bit, but his gaze remained stubbornly fixed in the direction of the retreating footsteps.
Finally, after a while, he brought his gaze back. But he could not remain idle anymore.
“No, I have to check out what’s happening.”
Having made up his mind, Li Ming stood up, determined not to allow such terrifying unknown events to occur by his side. He got up from the bed and walked toward the door.
“Where are you going?”
Zhang Yuan stood up, following Li Ming, her fear and worry obvious as she looked at his sudden movement.
“I’m going to check the roof. If we don’t figure out what this commotion is about, I won’t be able to find peace.”
Li Ming held Zhang Yuan close, kissing her soft lips gently, slipping his tongue between her teeth, engaging in a moment of sweet intimacy before pulling back from the panting woman to whisper a reply.
“I’ll wait for you at home. Come back soon.”
Zhang Yuan nervously nodded and urgently whispered in response.
“Lock the door from inside. Don’t open it unless I tell you to.”
Li Ming nodded, then picked up his weapon and the telescope he had found earlier from the table, and headed upstairs.

Witnessing Li Ming leave, Zhang Yuan quickly closed the door and bolted it from inside. She then returned to their bedroom and bolted that door too. She anxiously sat on the bed, catching her breath.
“Step, step, step…”
Li Ming ascended the stairs swiftly, moving from the fifth to the seventh floor, then continuing all the way up to the rooftop.
Thankfully, the rooftop entrance was wide open. Li Ming ran onto the rooftop and halted inside the stairwell, taking a deep breath. He slowly moved his body against the wall to maximise his field of vision.
Not until he had ascertained no danger was apparent did he cautiously peek his head out, raising his telescope to peer in the direction whence the vibrations had come.
Initially, his eyes felt uncomfortable pressed against the eyepiece so he blinked several times until he was accustomed and could focus on the said direction.
There were towering buildings, the exteriors of air conditioners, cars parked by the roadside, and zombies in hordes…
And… there was a monster of colossal size!
