Su Yining nearly choked on her water when she heard that, holding back her laughter, but eventually her laugh resonated in the room.

Her brother stopped, but only for a moment. Xiao Lei struggled, meowing and clawing like mad.

Afraid it might lose its temper soon and do something unthinkable to her brother, she approached them and took Xiao Lei from Su Jinghe’s arms.

He didn’t get to check because Xiao Lei simply couldn’t sit still.

Xiao Lei simply stuck to Su Yining like glue, refusing to go down. When Su Jinghe approached, it let out a high-pitched, threatening meow and hissed.

"Look, you traumatized it." Su Yining helplessly could only let Xiao Lei clung to her. Its claws extended, hooking her clothes, but it was also smart enough not to hurt her with its claws.

"This cat... how can it understand a human’s words? Where did you pick it up from, Ningning?" Su Jinghe was puzzled. Although he had a fierce aura, his brain was very quick-witted.

Su Yining considered whether to tell her brother but decided against it for the time being. She laughed and shook her head. "Isn’t there a study which says cats understand human’s language but just chose to ignore them?"

She shrugged. "Maybe that’s the case with Xiao Lei. It’s smarter than normal cats." She knew that Xiao Lei was probably still listening, so she added, "I picked it up from a garbage can."

Ah, the feeling of revenge was quite satisfying, she thought inwardly. Who told that disobedient cat to knock all her porcelain bowls and cups or wake her up at such an ungodly hour?

There was a shrill, sharp meowing, and then followed by a dull thud. Ouch, the cat is angry again!

Su Yining clicked her tongue and shouted. "Xiao Lei, do you want a new package of food? A special flavor you have never tried before..."

A fluffy head peeked from the door, staring at Su Yining like a hawk. She shook her head and picked it up, giving the kitten the food she had promised.

A loud ’awoo, awoo’ resounded in the room, showing how happy the cat was. It was so easily bribed.

Su Jinghe had a thoughtful look on his face as he watched the cat happily eating; its tail was swaying back and forth.

"I’ll come back again soon." He excused himself.

Su Yining nodded. "Have a safe ride, brother."

She went back to check the new plants from the game. Because she had earned some gold coins from selling the grain and completing missions, now her account had leveled up and she could unlock more plants and fruit trees.

Speaking of this game feature about levels, it was strange though. The gold coins from buying the game package didn’t count, only the gold coins she made from the game did.

Because she had tried it when she was just a few gold coins short of getting the electric tower room. She had to earn a few more gold coins from the game and use them to buy items from the shop before a new plant and tree was unlocked.

The bar on the top screen finally moved slightly every time she made a purchase with the money she earned from the game.

She didn’t hesitate to buy three more additional plots of land for the new plant. It was a sweet potato! More convenient compared to rice.

If her Yuanyuan wanted to cook rice, he would just need to get water from his space, but for other beastmen, they would need to get water somewhere. They might find a water source if they were hunting in the forest.

On top of it, sweet potato was a good staple food too!

After the sweet potatoes undergo a curing process, they would have a long shelf-life with proper storing. The beastmen could just grill them and they would have a decent meal at least.

Su Yining didn’t hesitate to spend her last few coins on the sweet potato seeds. They were expensive! One plot of land needed 15 gold coins.

"Ziyuan, don’t forget to harvest the sweet potato~"

She didn’t forget to leave Yuanyuan a reminder. Although it was expensive, they were good stuff. One land could yield 8 portions, better than the rice. It only needed 8 hours for the sweet potato to mature too.

There was also a fruit tree which was unlocked from the account’s level up, however, seeing her pitiful number of gold coins, she knew it wasn’t enough.

She needed to wait for the harvest and sell them to be able to buy the fruit tree. Fortunately, the fruit tree didn’t need plot of land like the sweet potato and rice. She could place it on any free location within the farming space.

After she was satisfied with the arrangement, she logged out of the game, waiting for the next few hours until both plants ready for harvest.

Soon, she heard a knock from the door. She got up to open the door. Xiao Lei trailed behind her, looking alert.

Her mouth twitched when she saw who it was.
