Apocalyptic Beastworld: A Farming Space Dimension to Another World-Chapter 81: Chaoter : The Bus Stop
Wow, he’s quite quick-witted connecting the dots together that it was her brother who beat him up, Su Yining thought.
She continued to stare at him like a hawk, waiting for his next explanation.
"Uh, because I am an upright person..." Han Zhicong trailed off, not at all ashamed at her odd look and the roll of her eyes.
"So, I refused, thinking he would get the hint. Didn’t you already tell him the number is no longer yours? Unexpectedly, he began asking about me." He paused. "He even offered me pocket money if I revealed my identity to him."
Her mouth twitched, rubbing her throbbing temples. She already knew where this was heading.
"You told him your identity?" She asked sharply.
Han Zhicong nodded with an honest look that could easily fool a kind-hearted elderly. However, of course, he wasn’t that gullible.
"Then, don’t come to me crying about getting beaten up." She mocked. "You brought it upon yourself."
He sighed. "Alright... the money is good, anyway."
Listen to that; his scamming business is currently really thriving. But it was really unknown who was losing and winning in this case with her brother.
One was willing to be beaten up and the other was really eager to beat up people.
Unexpectedly, time passed so quickly, and more people arrived at the office. They couldn’t discuss their matters more openly then.
Sister Qin came strolling in. Her eyes searched for Su Yining’s figure, trying to make sure she came to the office today and was safe.
"Who are you?" Sister Qin saw Han Zhicong’s peculiar dressing and asked, crossing her hands on her chest, her gaze stern. Han Zhicong froze, trying to excuse himself but Sister Qin caught him before he got away.
Su Yining had the look of someone who was watching a drama, minus the popcorn and the drink.
"Sister Qin, it’s me..." Han Zhicong’s muffled voice rang out.
Sister Qin’s face was filled with doubt. "Me who?"
Han Zhicong wilted, especially when people already started to look in their direction. He coughed, trying to turn to Su Yining for help but the latter pretended not to see it.
Feeling defeated, he could only say, "I am Han Zhicong."
"Han Zhicong?" Sister Qin repeated, her face changed quickly into a displeased expression. "Why are you here? Harassing Yining again?"
She originally thought it was Su Yining’s brother, but the man’s build was bigger, unlike Su Jinghe’s slender yet still powerful build.
"Sister Qin, I didn’t bully Su Yining," Han Zhicong tried to explain. If anything, it felt like their role was switched now. It was Su Yining bullying him!
However, Sister Qin wouldn’t want to listen to him and ended up taking him away from Su Yining’s desk.
Finally, some peace returned. Su Yining shook her head.
The peace lasted until she finished her work. She went to the street stalls again. Yesterday, she hadn’t had enough fun looking around.
This time, perhaps because her brother already knew her address, he didn’t show up again, which made her sigh in relief. She wanted to enjoy her time alone while gathering her thoughts.
Well, maybe not alone.
There is Yuanyuan accompanying her!
She didn’t forget to sell the rice in the warehouse, earning her additional 378 gold coins. Now, she has 1820 gold coins. Less than a week and she might get the electric tower soon.
Having electricity in the base would make things more convenient. Although she couldn’t buy them yet, many technologies on the game store were actually placed in the underground base—the true defense and core of the base.
The castle was just a cover.
"Ziyuan, I don’t seem to know about you yet. How many siblings do you have?" Su Yining asked just for fun.
He actually replied!
"A lot. I don’t even remember how many anymore," Xie Ziyuan said. It wasn’t a lie.
Su Yining blinked at the peculiar answer, however, considering his snake species, it wasn’t so strange anymore. Snakes could have a lot of offspring per batch.
Still, it made her feel some pity for him. It wouldn’t be easy having so many siblings. She was already having a headache with just one!
She looked around the stalls as she chatted with Xie Ziyuan, their texts becoming a bit longer because of the three messages daily quota.
Unknowingly, she arrived at the place where she had met the strange old man a few weeks ago.
This time, the situation wasn’t like that day. The bus stop wasn’t as deserted as a few weeks ago. There were many people waiting for their bus.
She was a little puzzled. Are they not afraid of the old man?
Her intuition told her that the old man wasn’t someone she should approach. He might be a crazy person too...
Everything about him screamed danger.
She suddenly had a thought. What if these people do not know that there was a strange old man lingering around this area? She considered going over and telling them.
The young man from a few weeks ago wasn’t there to tell them.
"Ziyuan, there is a strange old man at the bus stop. The place was deserted before but now it’s filled with people. The old man looked dangerous. Should I go and tell them?" On a whim, she asked her Yuanyuan again.
He didn’t immediately answer this time. Before she could exit the chat and see what he was doing, she heard a commotion.
"Get that wretched cat for me! It has been stealing all my fish and messing up with the goods. All my customers have run away because of it!" An enraged voice echoed from the distance.
Su Yining snapped her head to the source. There was a beer-bellied uncle with thick arms and feet carrying a long stick, chasing after a small black cat.
Just as she thought that the cat would go past her, she was astonished by what this cat did next. It actually climbed on her shoulder. The movement was quick and smooth, quite practiced as if it had done it countless times.
She wasn’t even hurt by its claws because of how quickly it climbed up.
"You!" The beer-bellied uncle ran over to her, tremblingly pointed at her and the cat. "Is it your cat?"
