Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Scammer Han Zhicong

Su Yining had given her SIM card number to Han Zhicong mainly because of one thing: that man was full of tricks and surprisingly a gifted person in terms of scamming people.

In fact, his father had been jailed before because he had scammed a lot of people out of their money.

This skill seemed to have run in his family. So, before she handed over her SIM card number, she made sure she blocked her brother’s number first.

Just in case, she also sent her brother a message telling him her number will be changed, afraid that Han Zhicong might scam him too, although unlikely.

Her brother should be smart, right?

After all, now he wore glasess... even if he was a little silly when he was little.

"Yining, look, he sent more money this time. So foolish."

Su Yining saw the message Han Zhicong had sent to her phone and her mouth twitched. Isn’t it just similar to the saying go out for wool and come home shorn?

Chen Kaixuan tried to get into her good books, trying to lure her in with a honey trap, yet he ended up being scammed for money by the person he was most leastly expecting. His own friend, and once his loyal follower!

Still, she encouraged Han Zhicong. "Go get more money from him."

She had seen the chats between Han Zhicong and Chen Kaixuan. Some of the contents were enough to make goosebumps run down her spine. Two grown men called each other ’honey’ and ’sweetheart’ while one of them was unaware the other party wasn’t a woman at all.

Surprisingly, Han Zhicong seemed quite good at coaxing people too. He was just insinuating he needed money for something, not directly asking Chen Kaixuan for it, yet the latter would send more than the amount Han Zhicong needed for it.

As such, the arrogant Chen Kaixuan who wanted to show off ended up losing more.

She clicked her tongue, in a good mood, and when she arrived at her workplace, she was more cheerful than usual.

Even Sister Qin took a few more glances at her, surprised at her radiant face. "Yining, you are early this time."

Su Yining gave her a sweet smile. "Morning, Sister Qin."

Of course, she was early. Her newly-rented house wasn’t that far from the office now, and she could even take a walk to go to work. At most, it would take her fifteen minutes.

Although the monthly rent was higher than the previous place, it was absolutely worth it without the abhorrent Chen Kaixuan lingering around.

It was just that once the pocket money her brother gave her ran out, she would need to find some side jobs to pay for the rent. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to make the ends meet.

Today was Monday. With so many good things happening lately, even Mondays felt a little less suffocating. Unfortunately, like an ordinary tired worker, once she got off from work, she would feel like her entire energy was drained again.

Once the work time was over, she headed to the street stalls she had visited some time ago. It was also where she had gotten her Devil’s Ivy from.

"Eh, Yining?" She heard a familiar voice.

Su Yining blinked and turned around, finding Sister Qin walking a few steps behind her.

"Sister Qin?" She revealed a similar surprised tone. "Are you going to the stalls over there too?"

Sister Qin smiled and nodded, her usually stern face was gentle this time. She looked much more relaxed outside the office, much more approachable, like a sister next door.

"Are you going there too? Let’s go together," Sister Qin offered.

Su Yining nodded. They walked together as they searched for the items they liked or found interesting.

They bought a candied hawthorn and sat on street furniture.

Sister Qin took a bite of her candied hawthorn. "Yining, how are you lately?"

As she licked the sugar off the candied hawthorn, Su Yining blinked at Sister Qin in puzzlement. Why does she suddenly ask this?

"I am fine, Sister Qin." She made an ok gesture, and hurriedly added. "Don’t worry, I finished all my assignments on time."

She wondered whether she was getting a private check-in on her performance. Suddenly, she became a little nervous. Her gesture became more careful and she didn’t even dare to eat the candied hawthorn anymore.

For a moment, she almost forgot this seemingly sister next door was her strict department leader.

Sister Qin’s mouth twitched. She could already guess what the young girl was thinking about at a glance. Did she look too stern just now?

This time, with a much kinder expression, she asked her in a concerned tone. "I am talking about Han Zhicong. Does he still disturb you again lately?"

She had found out about Han Zhicong’s harassment and even submitted a complaint to his department’s team leader. It seemed to work—lately, she rarely saw Han Zhicong being near the poor girl anymore.

However, she would never know if he also harassed her outside the office. She felt pity toward this girl. Although both her parents were still alive, she looked much like an orphan.

"Ah," Su Yining sighed softly. Almost scaring her. She relaxed and took a bite of her candied hawthorn. The sweet and sour taste melted in her mouth.

"It’s okay now, Sister Qin." She enthusiastically told her. "I have dealt with him. Now, he won’t dare to harass me again."

Looking at her proud and tender little face, Sister Qin didn’t quite believe her, but since Su Yining already said so, she didn’t insist anymore.

"If he comes and finds trouble with you again, come to find me." Sister Qin could only tell her that.

Su Yining smiled sweetly, appreciating her kindness. "Of course, Sister Qin!"

They quickly finished their candied hawthorn and walked around the street stalls again. Su Yining’s eyes couldn’t help but be drawn to stalls offering the vegetable seeds.

"Don’t tell me you are going to resign to be a farmer, Yining," Sister Qin joked.

Su Yining shook her head. "Of course not, Sister Qin. I have been really interested in farming lately. I want to raise a few pots of vegetables at home."

"Ningning!" Suddenly, she heard that voice again.
