Apocalyptic Beastworld: A Farming Space Dimension to Another World-Chapter 137: Duan Heng’s Ability
Fang Meilin glanced at Zhou Yunhan who was also looking at her at this moment. She cleared her throat and denied. "Mr. Wei, we just met, what explanation do you need? If you want me to take responsibility and detoxify you until you recover, I can do it."
Although she was thankful he had saved her, she wasn’t the one who was dragging him into the moat water, did she?
She would repay this debt, but if he thought he could take advantage of her and made unreasonable demands, he was wrong.
"Do you want an explanation about the moat water? Yes, I was the one who poisoned it. Ordinary water can’t deal with the fierce beasts at all." Fang Meilin said, gaining more confidence and became a lot calmer once she spoke.
Wei Rong sneered and didn’t respond for a while. She remained undeterred. Ever since she came to this place, she began to feel a sense of safety even with the fierce beasts surrounding the castle right now.
"Then, feed me." He gestured to the tray on the bedside table. "You said you want to take responsibility for me, right? Don’t go back on your words. My hands are all stiff at the moment."
Fang Meilin twitched her mouth. She was really tempted to poison this scoundrel again.
"I will feed you." Zhou Yunhan suddenly stood in front of her. He swatted Wei Rong’s hand away from touching her.
"You...?" Wei Rong faltered, the veins on his temples throbbed.
Zhou Yunhan didn’t even give him a chance to say anything more. He took a baked sweet potato and stuffed it into Wei Rong’s mouth without even bothering to peel it.
The leopard glared at him in a rage, spitting out the sweet potato from his mouth.
"I see that now your hands are working properly, Mr. Wei." Fang Meilin told him flatly before turning around and leaving the room. Zhou Yunhan followed behind her, snickering at his rival.

In the afternoon, Duan Heng finally had the chance to go back to the base. The bighorn sheep was taken aback by the sheer number of fierce beasts.
"Are you scared?" Old Wang asked him solemnly. "I already told you it’s dangerous here."
Duan Heng shook his head. "I am just surprised." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
He furrowed his brows. "Where is that damn Wei Rong?"
"Lying sick, getting poisoned."
Duan Heng was a little taken aback. "Dead?"
Old Wang shook his head. "Still alive. A scourge will live a thousand years, after all."
They both shook their heads, and the small conversation somehow lessened the tense atmosphere.
Soon, Duan Heng noticed something wrong. "Where are we heading to, Old Wang? This doesn’t seem to be the weapon room, isn’t it?"
Old Wang had a mysterious look on his eyes. Before Duan Heng could utter another word, he was shoved inside.
"Old Wang...?" He was shocked as he sat on the floor, not understanding what this pangolin was doing.
"Duan Heng," a soft and mechanical voice sounded in their minds.
Before Duan Heng could say anything, Old Wang told him. "Miss Owner is looking for you. She heard that you can craft weapons before."
Duan Heng subconsciously straightened his posture, like a soldier seeing his superior. Once he digested the second sentence, he blinked and shook his head helplessly.
"Did you hear about that from Old Wang, Miss Owner? Don’t listen to him. He likes to speak nonsense." He pursed his lips, and then shook his head fiercely, desperately trying to explain.
Su Yining had Old Wang telling her about Duan Heng’s achievement when he was working in Qingluan City. The bighorn sheep was actually a talented craftsman.
His weapons were always sought after because of their durability. However, a jealous co-worker destroyed the weapon he had been crafting for days and nights. He didn’t even get much sleep when he crafted that weapon.
The materials were also rare and expensive.
In order to sabotage him, the co-worker poured polluted blood on the spear. The client flew into rage when he found out and accused Duan Heng that he wanted to harm him.
Duan Heng had no other choice but to appease the client, compensating him by paying full of the materials cost while also giving him additional money for wasting his time. The amount he needed to compensate left him destitute.
He no longer had a home because he had to sell it to cover the cost.
Originally, he wanted to leave that craftsman shop to find a better job opportunity, but his bad reputation had somehow spread around and no other craftsman shop was willing to take him in.
Helpless, he could only resign to his fate and worked at the current craftsman shop. The owner no longer gave him a good face too, believing he had betrayed the shop.
The co-worker didn’t stop either. He kept on sabotaging Duan Heng’s next creation and somehow it made Duan Heng believe he had lost his touch.
"He is just so stubborn, Miss Owner." Old Wang shook his head as he told her the story. "The materials are also obviously tampered with. On top of that, they were also of the lowest quality. He is just too blind he can’t see it."
"I guess the first incident with the spear had made him suffer a blow and shatter his confidence." Old Wang’s tone carried a hint of pity. "Even when I provide him with materials, he no longer wants to touch it."
When Su Yining listened to Duan Heng’s story, she even felt a deep sense of regret. A talented craftsman was destroyed like that by a malicious person.
"Duan Heng, you are really a talented craftsman and still are. Now, our base is under the attack of the fierce beasts and we need as many weapons as can to exterminate them." She paused.
"I gave you a task to prove yourself as that reputable craftsman again. Are you willing to take on this task? The base will provide the materials. I also won’t force you. If you are not willing to touch anything related to craftsman again, feel free to refuse the offer. I will never ask again."
Her voice sounded kind and soothing.
Duan Heng subconsciously took a deep breath, his mind kept on faltering.
