Apocalyptic Beastworld: A Farming Space Dimension to Another World-Chapter 117: Wei Rong’s Change
What was the most important thing during the apocalypse? It was supplies and life-saving methods.
If the carrots had such a function as replenishing energy for rabbits, it was a powerful life-saving method. Even similar to having another life.
Late at night, Xie Ziyuan arrived at the Old Wang’s shop.
"Eh, Master Xie?" A surprised voice echoed. "What brings you here?"
He didn’t talk much, merely dumping a small pouch and disappearing again. Duan Heng was taken aback. He picked up the pouch and was stunned by the content inside.
A few seconds later, he gasped. There was a small storage ring filled with various fierce beasts’ crystal cores and other valuable parts. He could even sense a strong power from some crystal cores, which told him they were most likely fifth-order crystal cores or above.
A small note was written inside.
Once he finished reading it, he went to find Old Wang, Wei Rong, and other beastmen.
Wei Rong’s power had risen significantly for the past month. He kept on challenging beastmen in the arena, which triggered his survival skill and improved his power.
Unfortunately, just a week ago, he suffered greatly under a powerful opponent. His head was nearly smashed open, and all of his limbs were broken. As such, he had to lay down on the bed for the rest of the week to recover.
His injuries were too severe. Even with the pills, his recovery was slow. Now, he could barely walk, still limping slightly.
"What is that?" Old Wang asked.
Duan Heng tossed the pouch to him, letting him see it for himself. His gaze swept over Wei Rong’s brooding eyes before he hurriedly turned his gaze somewhere else.
He didn’t understand what was wrong with this leopard. Wei Rong was beaten until he was unconscious, however, once he recovered his consciousness, it was as if a switch had been flipped.
His personality changed greatly.
He became more withdrawn with a frown that almost perpetually marred his forehead. A gloomy air always accompanied him. They were really afraid he would suddenly lose control and turn into a fallen beast.
Duan Heng gulped and ignored him. Lately, Wei Rong also usually ignored them, anyway. He was only willing to interact with Xie Ziyuan.
"Master Xie wants us to sell all of this...?" Old Wang asked.
"Check the note, Old Wang," Duan Heng reminded him.
Once Old Wang saw the note, he took out a bottle of pills and handed them to Wei Rong. Although Wei Rong was quiet, he became unpredictable after he woke up.
He often wanted to sneak out during his recovery, causing his wounds to reopen. They all just concluded that he wanted to take revenge against his opponent and advised him against it.
Wei Rong grasped the bottle of pills and withdrew himself from the room, causing the rest of them to heave a sigh of relief. The feeling of suffocation in the air was gone.
"We have to think of a strategy on how to sell them all. Otherwise, a powerful faction might rob us once they find out we have so many valuables in our hands," Old Wang started his discussion.
"How about setting up some stalls in various parts of the city? We can bring some more beastmen from the base. Master Xie has handed over all the decisions to us, right?" A beastman suggested.
"Does that mean we have to bring a lot of beastmen for that? All of the strongest beastmen are out hunting right now. It might take a while for them to return. On top of that, we can’t use the people from this shop or someone might recognize us," another beastmen added his opinion.
While the beastmen at Old Wang’s shop were busy strategizing for their business plan, Xie Ziyuan had already arrived in a certain city.
The city was quite far from Qingluan City, and he arrived exactly an hour after midnight.
Nevertheless, the place was still bustling with some people. It was the capital city of the Great Yao Kingdom—the safest place under its king’s ruler.
Even at night, some shops were still open. This place was exactly the opposite of the Qingluan City where beastmen with malicious intentions were everywhere. The rule was more strict: beastmen who committed crimes will be punished.
Xie Ziyuan’s eyes swept over the surroundings. It had been a while since he visited this city—probably many years ago.
Too many things had changed. Still, he could remember a certain tribe just by their smell. His sense led him to a small shop, where a beastman was lazily leaning against a chair.
The dim light from the candle was the only source of light. Even candles were something quite extravagant during the apocalypse. Not everyone could possess it. Just from this alone, it was clear that the shop had a backer despite its simple appearance.
Most beastmen wouldn’t use candles unless necessary. They would close their shop at night rather than wasting it.
"Gentleman, are you looking for something?" The shopkeeper noticed Xie Ziyuan’s stare and asked, his tone neither humble or arrogant.
Behind him, there was a female beastman seriously taking care of the plants. This shop was selling non-poisonous plants. Considering the shopkeepers’ tribe, it was natural they would make a living like this.
They were rabbit beastmen, Xie Ziyuan’s target.
He figured out it would be a waste to sell the carrots to normal beastmen. If the rabbit beastmen could get their hands on them, they might fetch a higher price.
He was also sure they would be interested in studying the orange plants and the planting method. It was just that... since the carrots were grown from the seeds given by the ghostly woman’s game, he wasn’t sure they could grow the seeds outside the base.
Wan Lan had already obtained the seeds from some of the carrots they had grown, so the base would also try to grow them.
"Can you call one of your tribe’s elders or even the leader?"
The expression of the male rabbit’s beastman abruptly changed. "Mister, please don’t joke with us."
He narrowed his eyes, obviously displeased. "If you want to make trouble, please find another shop. We don’t want to entertain you!"
