Chapter 291: Chapter 291: Goodbye, Blue Planet

The discussion went long into the night.

Almost everyone wanted to follow Liora. Their hearts burned with the same determination she carried. But deep inside, she knew not everyone could go. The base needed protection. If they all left, what would happen to the people inside when the Zerg broke through?

So after much thought, they made a decision.

Her father, Eli, and Zhou Yinuo would stay. They would guard the base, protect the survivors, and deal with any sudden chaos.

The rest would go with her.

Liang Zihan, Shen Haoran, Mei, Yan Lin, Yun Shou, Atlas, and Liora herself. These were the ones who would step into the unknown. The ones who would walk into danger with no promise of return.

It wasn’t easy for anyone.

Even though her friends were born on the Blue Planet, they didn’t reject what she told them. The truth was heavy, yet they accepted it quickly—that other worlds existed, other lives lived beyond their small home, and their planet was nothing more than a simple, forgotten place far away from the true center of the universe.

Now, standing in the hall, everyone was ready.

Weapons were checked. Crystals were packed. Hearts were steady, even if fear lingered behind their eyes.

Before leaving, they gathered together.

Her father held her close. His hand trembled as it pressed against her shoulder. His eyes looked at her as if trying to carve her face into his memory. "Aeris... my child... you’ve only just returned to me. Do you have to leave again?"

Liora’s throat tightened. But she did not falter. "I have to, Father. You know I have to."

Eli clung to her hand, refusing to let go. His eyes glistened with tears. "Aunt, take me with you! I’ll fight too!"

Her chest ached seeing him like that. But she knew the truth—she couldn’t take him. What if they never came back alive? Then Eli would be the only hope left for the next generation.

She knelt in front of him, cupping his face gently. "Eli... you must stay. You have to protect Grandpa and Aunt Zhou Yinuo. If I don’t return... you’ll be their strength. Do you understand?"

Eli shook his head fiercely, tears streaming down. "No... I don’t want to stay... I don’t want you to go..."

Zhou Yinuo’s arms wrapped around him from behind, her voice firm but warm. "Eli, you must listen. If we all run off, who will guard this place? Who will keep the people safe? You are strong. You can do this."

Slowly, painfully, Eli nodded. His small fists tightened, his teeth biting down hard, as if trying to hold back his sobs.

One by one, the goodbyes were said.

The group formed a circle. Atlas stepped to the center, pulling out a teleportation ball. The crystal inside shimmered with a high-grade light, humming with power.

He looked once at Liora, and she gave a small nod.

With a steady breath, Atlas activated it.

The crystal flared. A blinding light surged outward, wrapping around all of them.

And with a sharp swoosh—

They vanished.

The hall fell silent.

Her father dropped to his knees, his hands trembling as they pressed against the cold ground. His chest heaved as he tried to breathe, but no air could ease the weight in his heart.

He had only just reunited with his daughter after two years. And now, she had gone again—walking straight into a war with an ending no one could predict.

Zhou Yinuo knelt beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder. Eli pressed into his grandfather’s side, trying to comfort him through his own tears.

But nothing could take away the sadness that filled the old man’s eyes.

Because now he realized—

Not only had he sent his daughter into danger... but his granddaughter was also lost somewhere in the vast, endless space, surrounded by monsters.

And all he could do... was pray that they would find each other again.

On the other side, the shift of space was sharp and dizzying. One moment Liora was standing inside the house surrounded by her family, and the next, she and her group were standing in a place so strange it felt unreal.

The floor beneath their feet was smooth, metal-like, yet glowing faintly with blue lines that ran in intricate patterns. The walls curved and hummed, lights pulsing like veins. They were inside a ship—but not just any ship. It was advanced, far beyond anything humans of the Blue Planet had ever seen.

Yan Lin’s mouth dropped open. "Is this... really a spaceship?"

Mei took a step forward, her hands brushing against the glowing panels. "It’s beautiful..." she whispered, her wide eyes reflecting the lights.

Shen Haoran, who had always been calm, found himself frozen in awe. He muttered almost to himself, "So it’s true... there really are civilizations beyond our planet..."

Even Yun Shou, who often carried a sharp tongue, had no words. He simply stared, his expression blank with shock.

They were all from the Blue Planet, yet in this moment, they saw with their own eyes what their world had always denied—that they were not alone.

While the others marveled, Atlas moved quickly. He walked toward the front of the ship where a massive control panel hovered in the air like light formed into shape. His hands touched the glowing surface, and the ship came alive with a deep hum. The walls brightened, the lights steadied, and the floor beneath their feet vibrated softly.

Atlas’s voice was calm but firm. "I’ll operate the ship. Stay together and don’t wander."

The others nodded, still too overwhelmed to argue.

But while everyone’s eyes roamed in wonder, Liora’s gaze drifted toward the windows that stretched along the side of the ship.

Her heart stopped.

Outside... they were there.

The Zerg.

Their bodies pressed against the ship in swarms, crawling like endless ants, their claws screeching against the surface. Their red eyes glowed through the void, hundreds—no, thousands—staring in hunger. Their grotesque forms writhed and shifted, wings beating against the emptiness, jaws opening and closing as if already tasting flesh.

The ship held them out. Every scrape of their claws echoed like nails against glass.

Liora’s breath came short. Her fists clenched. It was one thing to see them above the dome, but here, so close, separated by nothing but the ship’s walls, it felt like drowning in horror.

She whispered to herself, "So many..."

Yun Shou came to her side, following her gaze, and his face paled. "They’re everywhere..."

The others turned then, one by one, and the awe in their eyes was replaced with terror. The Zerg were so dense outside that the stars were gone, their mass blotting out everything.

For the first time, her friends realized what kind of enemies they were truly facing.

Liora didn’t look away. Fear coiled in her chest, but beneath it was steel. This was the enemy that stole the sky from her daughter, from all of humanity. This was the enemy she had sworn to fight.

And she would.

No matter how endless they looked, no matter how impossible this war seemed, she would do anything for her daughter.

And she would make sure the man who dared to open the portal to the Zergs’ dimension paid for his sin.
